I love the Perrys. They are one of my favorite groups. Libbi Perry Stuffle is by far my favorite female vocalist in SG music.

After seeing how hard the Perry's worked last year here in Baton Rouge, for a last minute love-offering concert that drew just 75, I was reminded that they are the type of group that makes SG special.
I bought their new CD last week, "Look No Further." I am enjoying it very much. They do not have what I see as a "big song" on this one, just a collection of reallly good songs that sound like SG songs should sound, smooth harmonies, joyful presentations, professional in every way.
Bottom line, I like 'em!!

I have been listening to the Perrys since Randy was with them.....guess that says something. LibbiDib is one of the best Alto singer to grace that NQC stage IMO. She has that Vestal Goodman sound, and I just her and the clan so much.

I've been listening to The Perrys since they were called God's Little People & have loved them since then. Libbi is the sweetest person around & a great singer.

I think that there are several songs on the project--"Look No Further" and "Holy Shore" come to mind in particular--that would be a standout big song on a lesser group's CD. But the standard of quality is so high throughout the CD that they just fit, they don't particularly stand out. 
I have all the Perrys projects since they became an alto/lead/baritone/bass quartet, as well as a handful of their projects previously (most of their most popular earlier ones), and 6-9 months after it came out I think I can definitively say that this is my all-time favorite Perrys project.

We went to see Libbi in Flatwoods, WV at an amphitheater last year. The rain held out through Hope's Call and another singer's set. Lib got through about four or five songs and it started POURING the rain! Some took shelter underneath an awning; they even opened up the inside of the theater! The group turned the speakers around, and continued to sing, WHILE IT RAINED! God is so GOOD! He really blessed that concert!

I really like the 'young guys'. One of the things I've enjoyed over the years is seeing young men and women some into a group - grow with it, sometimes they stay there for a long time, often they branch out with their own groups or in other directions as time goes by.
As they mature and you look back, it's fun to see how they've grown and 'come into their own'. I enjoy seeing those things happen especially when I like the folks involved.

I've known The Perrys since 1980. Officially, they were called "The Singing Perrys", but locally, the were referred to as "The Perry Children". They traveled in an old station wagon, and then in a beige and brown Ford Econoline van. It was always fun to watch them pull up and see Randy have to 'hop' down out of the driver's seat. When we were around, we always tried to help him hoist their big ole, heavy Altec-Lansing speaker cabinets up on them flimsy tripods. I've seen services where people were shoutin' and running the aisles, and Randy would look over at me as if to say, "Grab that pole and don't let that speaker fall on anybody!"
Older sister Debbie played the piano and sang alto. Often, she'd have me play for them, so she could get up and get into the service a little better. What memories!!! They used to sing a lot of The Original Hinson's music, and they also did a lot of standards. I remember two 'interesting' songs that they staged: "Pretty Wreath For Mama's Grave" and "Get A Pan Of Water And Wash Yo' Brother's Feet". Hey, Lib? Why don't you bring BOTH of those back??? (Ha!Ha!!Ha!!!)
Time goes on, and people take different paths in life and ministry, I guess. But, I do miss seeing the great moves of The Holy Ghost like we saw in those days. Granted, there are a few times when He's allowed to work in this current day. I don't negate that at all. But there was a time when you could count on leaving EVERY service having seen someone truly saved, and throngs of people encouraged and uplifted, not just a meager handful. God's not changed, so why have we?

We just returned home a little bit ago from seeing the Perrys at Fairfield, IL. I usually post reviews in the "recent concerts attended" thread, but since this one is on the first page, I will post it here.
It had been almost a year and a half since we last saw them, at another town in our area. Joseph and Nick have really jelled into their parts during that time. The change was still relatively fresh the last time we saw them, although they did well then, too. We have seen them several times over the past few years, but this concert was unique.
They sang about 4 or 5 songs, and then Tracy introduced Matthew, the piano player. Tracy told a bit about Matt's early connections with Anthony Burger, and then he asked Matt to tell his story or testify. Tracy said it was impromptu, and I really believe it was. Matthew gave a moving testimony, even getting teary-eyed, and told the story of how he started playing at a very early age. He concluded his testimony by playing, at Tracy's request, "When They Ring Those Golden Bells", just as he had played it at Anthony's induction into the SG Hall of Fame. He got a standing O for a very moving, and beautiful rendition. Tracy then went on to repeat the procedure with Joseph, again seemingly unplanned. Joseph responded with a heartfelt testimony about his Mom's struggles raising 3 young sons by herself, and the impact of the Lord on his own young life. He chose the next song, (Can't remember what it was, Geezer moment) that the group sang. By now Nick had a clue as to what was coming, and Tracy repeated it with him. He also gave his story and testimony, and picked the next song. That meant there was a lot of talking compared to singing in the first part, but I honestly do not think a single soul in the crowded house complained. The Spirit of the Lord was on the place, and we were having Church, in song and testimony.
The second half, they did mostly requests, some with piano accompaniment only (Tracy told Matt to not turn on the tracks, just do them like we practice them) on the old Goodman songs, such as "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey Now", and "God Walks the Dark Hills". They also sang some from their new project. It was a very moving, and entertaining concert. Tracy and Libby have surrounded themselves with a cast of dedicated and talented young men, and they are doing the Lord's work.
Tracy also introduced his and Libby's teenage son, and Troy Peach, both of whom were working on the sound. The sound was very good, and it was kind of refreshing to hear some songs done with live piano only.
One other highlight, I had told the host about Tracy's "chainsaw" prowess.
He asked Tracy to do it, to the delight of the crowd. Tracy opened the second half with that, and said that he sure hoped we got a blessing from it. Another funny thing, Tracy will occasionally put his mic in front of Matthew, and Matt will always shake his head no. After several shake-offs, (to use a baseball term) Matthew actually hit a few licks on the bass part. It was the first time I had seen him do anything other than shake off the offer. In summary, it was a great way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon, in worship, including good music, clean humor, and sincere Christian witness and fellowship.

I would have to say, that last nights concert was absolutely wonderful! Lib and the guys did an excellent job! It was alot like what Billboy said, they did things a little different ie: singing around piano, singing without tracks, etc. Regardless, they were awesome! I cannot wait to go see them again! I already miss em!
