I agree that Mohammad was mentioned in the Bible, but not as the guy on utube claims, the referrence can be found in 1 John 4:1.

I suppose Mohammad indwells us and seals us for salvation, and prays for us with groanings that cannot be uttered.

This guy has no idea he is talking about. He takes Scripture passages out of context (and not just the concept of the Spirit being Mohammad). How can he even begin to rationally think that the term "Holy Spirit" can mean two radically different things as he claims here?

Without even viewing the video, I can tell you that I have gone 'round and 'round with Muslims on this.

The following article is an excellent disproof of this misconception:

I agree RC(2John 8-11 does reinforce 1John 4:1; btw I use 2John when 'they' come to my door if 'they're' in a combative mood.) Mohammad was a 'johnny come lately; 500 years late.

So now they are biblical scholars? That guy would do well to examine the contradictions to Islam in the Koran before advising Christians about the Bible.

It's amazing that people who have never given a single thought about God and the Bible during their lives embrace such a deceitful message as Islam. If I wanted to learn about the biblical "paraclete," I would never go to a Muslim.

LOL!!!

I found a couple of more references:

1Jo 2:22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.

Mohammed taught that "God has no son." That qualifies him as a deciever and an antichrist figure.

there were lots of people mentioned in the bible... perhaps we should start a religion based around each one? The bible is ABOUT Jesus and His Father... They aren't just mentioned.

Muslims believe Deut.18:18 refers to the prophet Mohammad in the O.T., even though our friend on Youtube didn`t get around to mentioning this verse. "I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth, and he will tell them everything I command him." They believe the PROPHET Moses was talking about in this verse had to be the Prophet Mohammad. The trouble is Mohammad was not born a Jew from the brethern of the Jewish race. What the guy on Youtube is saying about the Holy Spirit living on in the teachings of Mohammed today could be said about any religious leader that still has followers today but died decades ago. Thank-God we know who the Prophet was who Moses referred to in Deut.18:18. He is non-other then Jesus Christ- the Son of God and He is not just another dead Prophet in the line of prophets, but is very much alive today. The "Spirit of God was hovering over the waters" (Gen.1:2 referring to the Holy Spirit) was there at creation and is therefore not a created being of God. The Holy Spirit is part of the triune Godhead who took active part in the creation of all things.

Moses,

That you have a good heart and concern for people is obvious in your desire to reach people with the truth. However, you may not have the full truth. That you have a love for God is obvious as well as your love for those (us) you are trying to reach.

It might be better to do a little more studying to learn if Jesus was just another prophet or if He was the true Son of God sent specifically to die for our sins.

John 10:30
I and my Father are one.

John 14:9
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

Galatians 1:4
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

What makes Jesus different is that He didn't just bring a message. While His words are truth and the words of God, what He did was more important. He gave us a way to be free from the power of sin. The way was by the blood He shed on the cross. The Bible says that there is life in blood. We get a new life because when we place our trust in Jesus, we are born again. We become a new creation by being made part of Jesus. We have our new life in Him.

I think Satan thought he had God tricked. If he could get people to sin, he thought he would carve out a little empire of his own. I do not think he understood that the way to rescue people from the captivity of sin had already been planned before he was even created.

Because God gives us new life in Jesus, we can be free from sin and can go to heaven. There is nothing we could do that would be good enough to make ourselves worthy to go to heaven. God did it all for us and gives it to us as a gift. We just have to receive the gift by trusting in Jesus.

This is what makes Christianity different. It is not how we come to God, it is that God has already come to us.

Well put, timf. I quite agree. Jesus could not have been just a prophet, or he would have been a liar. He claimed equality with God, which is something no mere prophet would ever dare.

O.K., we have Abraham, Moses and Jesus as prophets in the Bible. To a certain extend they may even be classified as the brotherhood of prophets. Then there`s John the Baptist. Could he also be included in this list? We`ll put him before Jesus because he was born before Jesus was and Jesus had this to say about John the Baptist in Luke 7:28. "I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John;" So from this we can conclude that John the Baptist was even greater a prophet than Abraham and Moses.

Now when asked if he, John the Baptist, was "THE PROPHET" in John 1:21, referring back to Moses`s prophecy from Deut.18:15 "The LORD your God will raise up for you A PROPHET like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to Him.", John the Baptist replied "NO" no, no, no. So if John the Baptist was greater than Abraham and Moses, but not "THE PROPHET" then who can be this "THE PROPHET" that is even greater then John the Baptist? John refers to this Prophet as being even greater then himself in John 1:27 as "He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie." Who is John talking about?

John the Baptist introduces us to this "THE PROPHET" in John 1:29. "The next day John was JESUS coming and said, Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" This Prophet is JESUS. Now why is He even greater than Mohammed, or John or Moses or Abraham? Jesus died for my sins. Mohammad or the other prophets never died for my sins. Jesus can forgive my sins if I believe, trust and confess my sins to Him. Mohammad is dead and can`t forgive anybodies sins today. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God, equal with God and the Savior of the world. Mohammad never claimed to be a God or equallity with God. Jesus is alive today and mediating for those who believe in Him at God`s very right hand as we speak. With no disrespect for the prophet Mohammad, yet if you were to choose between the two, Jesus or Mohammad, who would you base your eternal destiny on? The living or the dead.
