I was wondering if anyone had any opinions about Kindermusik and/or Tot Rock. I was looking in my park district booklet for anything that I might want to sign my 17 month old up for. Kindermusik is way out of my price range but Tot Rock seems reasonable. Are these things just a waste of money? I mean Kindermusik claims that they give your child all sorts of advancements in their development and skills. Is this just a way for them to make money or do you think this is really true? Anyone have any experiences, recommendations, or thoughts on this?

They also offer a mom and tot art class. Do you think this is worth it or do you moms and dads have some ideas on how I can just do arts and crafts at home? If you can recommend some books, websites, or some of your own ideas for things to do with a 17 month old, that would be wonderful.
I think some reasons for signing up for the art class would be: 1) It may be messy stuff and therefore easier on me if it was done outside my home ; 2) It may be good to sign up once just to get some ideas; 3) It may be a good way to meet other moms. What do you think?

Sign up for the Art class. Have fun and enjoy this time! Those tot and mom art classes are usually a blast! And an added bonus - you get ideas you can bring home for future use AND you don't have to clean anything up!

I have no advice regarding the music classes tho. I wish I had had the resources when the kiddos were little to do more in the music arena.

Blessings,

Garsy
