In the UK, anything before the 5th April is good, because that's the end of the tax year, and if you get married before the end of the tax year, you get more allowances for the next one!

We got married on 2nd April

Married at 3pm (plenty of time to get ready in the morning, even if it was a late night the night before), reception at 5pm, left reception at 8pm to drive to honeymoon place. Just right!

Spring and fall have better temperatures, not too hot or too cold. Mid morning gives most people time to enjoy the event and not feel rushed.
That takes your guests into account but it has to be the best time for the bride and groom. One couple got married on Halloween so that the groom would never forget their anniversary date.
I am finding that our anniversary date, July 1st, makes it hard to book a nice get away at a good price.

We got married at 11am, and that's a bit to early. But it was the end of April, so the weather was lovely.

We got married at 10am on April 12.... we wanted enough time to drive to Yosemite afterward for our honeymoon.

The best time? Oh, six months or so after getting engaged. Or even less if you can swing the plans in time.
(We were in our 30's and ready to get it done!)

Depends on your location, what kind of weather you prefer, where you're headed after the wedding, what time of the year works best with the rest of your plans (work, school, etc.).

We got married in September in SE Missouri. Fall is our favorite time of year. It was the fall after I graduated high school. I graduated in May, we prepared for the wedding all summer and got our house all ready, hubby found a good job, and I got my schooling all lined up for the fall semester. It was great for us. The weather was perfect that day as well. Aahhhhh. Makes me nostalgic. Our anniversary is coming up in a few days!!!!!! 9 years.

I had some other friends who got married in early October in central Oklahoma in the evening. The weather was crisp, they had it outdoors at her parents' house. They had a big gazebo built for a dance floor, it was great and so much fun!!

I've also been to some very nice spring weddings and some nice Christmas weddings.

I'm not sure it really matters. We married early afternoon in November, and that was great for us.

I think anytime that works well for the bride and groom is the best.

Now for what WE chose and why...we got married in the Spring (March 19) at 2pm. That allowed for us to get some good rest, not get up too early. We had our hair appts that morning (a hairdo brunch at hubby's cousin's-aka the hairdresser-house). Got to the church at 12 for getting ready and for pictures. Reception immediately following. Cake and punch reception-no dancing-is the norm around here). Left for honeymoon at 5ish.

I got married in the winter and now wish I didn't. The day of our wedding ended up being bad weather and some people could not make it.

If I could redo our wedding I would do summer in the afternoon.

but you got a REALLY cool photo of the snow falling as we were walking to the front door.

I thought the theme of your wedding was very fitting with the day. And I still have the bell ... I put it out every Christmas.

We got married in the spring.

We did not want it during the holidays, and we share a b-day in Sept, so we thought April may would be good, but then May the kids get out of school, and we did not want to deal with that on our honeymoon. LOL! Our day was very stratigically planned out.

I'm not her, but I"m going to answer for her. Hope you don't mind.
She got married on New Year's Eve in Reno. I-80 got shut down due to the Truckee river flooding. The basement of the church flooded too, which is where the reception was. We (I was a bridesmaid) went downstairs to use the restroom or something that morning and saw all the carpet pulled up and a man was leaving with a wet vac. He had just finished trying to sop up all the water.

It started snowing as the bridesmaids were walking to the sanctuary from the back of the church. The snow wasn't the bad part ... it was teh damage the rain did that day.

I live near San Francisco. I debated driving up there and saving money on a plane ticket and car rental. I was glad that I decided to buy a plane ticket afterall.

No, I dont mind Ur response. Oh my! I wouldve been so heartbroken! I would just cry and cry. At the end of the day she was joined with him and thats all that matters. Can always renuw the vows in another season. Thats something Id look forward to doing.

I love springtime, it's my favorite season - but where I live, spring is always pretty temperamental as to what kind of weather you'll get... too cold, too windy, or too rainy. But late spring/early summer would be my choice, so I chose summer-morning/afternoon, although I prefer mornings because the light is so fresh and bright (and not so hot!).

I chose spring/afternoon. I got married in the summer (middle of July) and it was SOOOOOO hot. Wearing a 16 layers wedding gown in 104 degree weather with very high humidity was NOT fun. Also if you do sring then you could plan to use ur tax return (if you get one) to help pay for everything - especially the things u forget about till ur almost out of money. (AKA my hubby's wedding band! - I didn't buy it till the night before the wedding but lets not tell him that. Good thing my marton of honor asked to see it. )

I have worked at so many weddings that I have found the fall and winter wedding receptions to be the prettiest. I have seen the best cakes in the fall and winter and the boldest and most beautiful colors. I think that if you get married in the fall or winter and have a reception hall, you have so many more decorating options becaue you can bring in the fall colors and leaves. Winter brings snowflakes and lots of reds and jewel tones.
