Was it Carman's "The Champion", Rich Mullin's "Awesome God". Anything by Petra, Sandi Patti, Stryper, Steve Tayor, Amy Grant, Steve Camp, Randy Stonehill, Leslie Phillips, Don Francisco, etc. The list goes on and on! What would you say was your favorite?

Amy Grant - Lead Me On I've heard this song 1,000+ times and it's still fresh.

Boy, this is a hard call! Stryper had some excellent stuff, and I always enjoyed "Makes me Wanna Sing" Petra had some excellent music at the end of the 70's into the 80's... "The Coloring Song", "Chameleon", "Angel of Light". Bloodgood ripped up the metal scene with phenomenal songs like "Blacksnake", "Anguish and Pain", "Awake!" and then followed up at the end of the 80's with their "Detonation" album. Degarmo & Key were personal favorites of mine. I had to buy replacement cassettes because I listend to "Rock Solid: Absolutely Live" so much. I especially like "Rock Solid", "Alleluia Christ is Coming", "Are You Ready", and my personal favorite, "When the Son Begins to Reign". I never listened to Amy Grant much, though I do remember the song "El Shaddai", which in my young years I thought was saying, "Al shall die", which horrified me because we had a family friend named Al... Rich Mullins is THE BOMB, and I have very fond memories of learning "Awesome God" at a youth camp. Not until the last 5 years or so have I really started digging into Rich's music, and I must say that he has some excellent poetry and some fantastic songs.

Rich Mullins "Awesome God" is a strong candidate for sure. I'd have to say Steve Camp/Carman's "Revive Us, Oh Lord" is right up there as well. For Stryper I would nominate "Honestly" rather than "To Hell With The Devil" because of how the song launched them into the stratosphere. Almost anything be Amy Grant is a good bet. Let's not forget SCC's "The Great Adventure". Just too many pop classics in the 80s to pick a definitive winner, I say.

Definitely anything Petra, Stryper, Undercover, or Steve Taylor!!! On the Gospel side, The Clark Sister's "You Brought the Sunshine" and the Winans Tomorrow album. It also gave rise to BeBe & CeCe!!!
