The Bible makes it pretty clear that things in our world will continue to worsen. My question is this: What if, every person in the U.S. cried out to God for help, for healing, etc. Would that change anything? C

I think that depends on what you are talking about exactly, when you say things will worsen. If you mean the prophesied events of the end times, no, I don't think it will help. God ordained them to happen and they will happen. If you mean anything other than those prophetic events, yes He can change the outcome, or stop it from happening, or make it have a better outcome than it would have had without us praying. Like when God got mad at the Israelites at the base of Mount Sinai, when He gave Moses the 10 commandments, and He began to kill them off, and Moses prayed to Him on their behalf to spare them, and God did. That actually happened on a few occasions. But of course like I said, it depends on what you mean by things getting worse.

Not likely, for look at one example of homosexuals are counted as a small minority in this country yet same sex marriage was allowed in California despite over 60 percent of voters wanting marriage to be defined as between one man and one woman. The leadership of this country is way to liberal and do not worship the God of the Bible. And with the liberals saying that they dont believe that the Bible is true or that it is relevant any more even if you could get a majority of people in US to cry out to God which god would they be crying out to? Perhaps if enough people repented and turned to the One True God of the Bible perhaps there could be a revival here and more would be drawn into the Kingdom but as for things getting better the leadership in this country would not allow it.

Everything got better in my life when I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. That’s what I tell people, because it is true. The world is what it is: (Gen 8:21) And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. (Gen 8:22) While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Jesus changes people one at a time. We are better off not focusing on a forest we can’t do anything about, and place our focus on the trees. (Psa 34:6) This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. There is only so much time to work: (Joh 9:4) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. The outcome of this world is set, we must prepare for the next: (Luk 21:33) Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (Luk 21:34) And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. (Luk 21:35) For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. (Luk 21:36) Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Pray, pray, pray...

It could delay the end, and bless us in ways that would boggle our minds. But alas, we will not sincerely turn to him as nation. If Israel had, as a nation accepted Christ, the age would have ended on the spot. The Kingdom of Heaven would have come: For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. -Luk 19:44

The pop-eschatologists are the ones that seem to think we can hasten or slow the Lord's return. Personally, I think that is complete nonsense. However, we CAN make a difference for every person that we share the Gospel with that is born into the Kingdom of God as a result. It's like the story of the boy who was tossing starfish back into the ocean after hundreds of thousands were beached during a storm and a man told him that it wouldn't make much difference because he'd only get a small fraction back into the water before most of them died. As the boy tossed another starfish into the surf he said, "It makes a difference to THAT one," then picking up another, "and THIS one!"

Hi Concerto, I think the main point of your question is: Does God answer prayers? The answer is definitely YES. Never under-estimate the power of prayers. The second point: What if every person in the US ... Now then, if you manage to get every person in my street to agree on something then you've got yourself a miracle. I know I'm not in the US - but do you think things are different where you live? Could you get a whole lot of people to agree to pray for help? The answer is: you don't need to. All you need is to start with one. Just you. And then I'll join you in prayers too. Hopefully others reading your post will join as well. That makes 3 ... 4 ... 5 ... etc ...

Yes. Just because God knew what would happen and he chose to give us some clues to see it coming, He does not wish that any should perish. He would absolutely welcome any believer to seek His face. He already knows how the story ends, but that doesn't excuse us from dilligence. We must still go and spread the gospel and make disciples so that all have the opportunity to accept or deny the gift of Christ's sacrifice in our place.

Thanks for posting it.
