There are so many good ones that come to mind.... I love the firey furnance story in Daniel 3. Daniel 2:20-23 the first longer verse I memorized. Leah's story in Genesis29 is a great one. I especially love when she decides to give greatful praise to the LORD at the end.

Ooh! Ooh! Me! <frantically raising hand> I looooooove the story in 2 Kings 18: 17 - 19:37. Verse 25 in chapter 19 makes my hair stand on end: "long ago I planned it and now I have brought it to pass." God's got plans and He takes care of people who trust Him and obey Him, and He <ahem> takes care of the bad guys, too, so to speak. And it was all in the script God had written before hand - God moves history. It would make a great movie. Or part of one.

Ezekiel's Wheel admittedly fascinates me. Also, I am intrugued by Genesis Chapter 6 v 1-4.

My favorite bible verse of all time is Romans 8:38-39. "For I am persuaded that neither life nor death, nor angels nor demons, nor things above or things below, and nothing in all creation shall seperate us from the love of our Lord Jesus!". That verse speaks to me soo much because whenever I mess up I always feel unworthy of Gods love and need to be reminded how much Jesus really does love me.

Daniel 3, in fact the character Daniel and friends are significant. I tend to gravitate to personalities rather then specific stories. Joseph's history in OT, Naaman in 1Kings 5 in interesting, Samson, actually 'the persons of faith' in Hebrews 11 is good spot to start. The Good Samaritan Luke 10:30-37, Elisha and the floating ax head in 2Kings 6, Abraham sacrificing Isaac in Genesis 22...I could do on.

the Story of Joseph. through all the turmoil over all the years, Joseph never lost his faith, or character, and never forgot who he was. I also love the story of the "40 years" man

I love the story of Joshua. Joshua was a man who when faced with problems didn't seem to view them as such - rather he seen opportunities to prove God's faithfulness. What a fabulous mindset.

I have so many... but this one has been on my mind...when Sarah had heard The LORD tell Abraham she was to have a son... Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, "After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?" And the LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, "Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?" "Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son." But Sara denied it, saying "I did not laugh," for she was afraid. And He said, "No, but you did laugh!" (Genesis 18:12-15) I love it when our LORD says, "No, but you did laugh!" That puts a big grin on my face

The story of Job was my first revelation into the charactor of God. Here was a good guy who was faithful and did all the right things..and he was getting all this bad stuff happening to him. His friends were all, man you must have some sin in your life fopr these things to be happening..wassup? Job talks with God and God just tells him, hey, I am God, my ways are above your's. This book changed my ideas about who is good and what this life is really about. That it is bigger than what we are. The end all be all of life is God, not us, not our probelms, not our sins or triumphs. Its about God.

My favorite story has to be of peter and the storm. This teaches us that we have to keep our eyes fixed on Heaven and we should never look at the problem, for Christ is always the solution.

I like this one also and always remember it was when Peter looked back he fell. That reminds me to look forward and move on ahead, not looking back at our past.
