On forums, I seem to get along better with women, but in person, I seem to get along with men better instead.

I vote for depends. In some topics of conversation (relationships) I get along better with women. In others (baseball) I get along better with men. Still some (theology) it doesn't seem to make a difference. So I guess I can easily relate to either gender, but sometimes it just depends on the situation.

When I was younger, I always got along better with males. The older I've become and the closer to God, I've found that I spend most of my time with women. I still don't like a lot of the things that interest them or that they talk about, but I relate to them better now.

When I was younger I got along with men better. I had basically thought women were complicated, they got their feelings hurt easily, could be petty, and indirect. But soon, I realized I was actually hindering God's work in my life, and more importantly His work through my life. So, I began to study His word, and study what it truly means to love--not just the mushy, kind stuff. But the rubber-meets the road type stuff. And then I realized, that what I had thought about women and men was just a lie from the evil one. I could get along with others if I wanted to. I had a major paradigm shift and have never been the same again. I get along well with women and men now, and children and animals.  God has does some amazing work in my life when I lay down my pride and dare to step beyond my comfort zone. That has been such a blessing in my life! God challenges me, and then I grow.

I tend to get along better with men because I seem to have more in common with them as far as interests goes. I like sports and the outdoors which makes it easier for me to relate with them. My best friend is female though.

For me, it's less of a gender thing and more of an age thing. I have always enjoyed having older friends.

Well I get along with different persons, both genders and ages most of the time.
I do enjoy and make connections with some people more than others for sure, it much depends why and how as life is full of surprises and seasons. And the most cool thing is to be surprise by the amazing "click" that happens when connections and keeping flowing are made!
Of course there are tendencies many times are into places already, the conversations and things in common, personality matching, real interest to meet others and to know what they are about, open to learn and express etc that I expect already pleasant stuff as conversations goes, still people are just unique.
The different genders individuals in my life make different contributions, of course. The exchanges I have with females friends are different to those that I have with males ones. The females ones are much more organic and deep and free because they are my equals and sisters. The males I feel cannot flow so organic because males do tend to get more emotionaly attached and may think they are in love with you etc because many males are not used to have organic relationships within their own gender to begin with, as women have with each other as deep friends etc Still when you do find males friend who are not so much needy emotionaly and trully understand the dynamics of exchangings of pure mature friendships with woman sister friend, it is really wonderful contribution and investiment we sow in each others life and trully reap good things that help us grow and etc.
I do love my close friends, both genders.

I tend to get along better with women. Men tend to be just as catty as people CLAIM women are, especially when there's a hot woman or friends that they like more than you. And besides, I just don't trust men.

I'm feeliing persnickity today.
People don't have genders they have sexes.
I get along with women best I think. But I get along well with just about everyone generally so the distinction as to "best" is pretty fine.

not trying to sound persnickity, maybe it's all my sociology and psychology classes but i believe gender works in OP's context (altho possibly worded awkardly due to getting right to the point) as he is discussing social differences not something like anamoty which i'm sure is some tos violation especially in mixed company:

I have always gotten along better with men, and I think it's because of being in the music industry. There's something about most female musicians I know, particularly singers, that is UBER competitive, and I'm just not that way. My gift is my gift and I don't need to compete with anyone.
Additionally, I'm into the techy stuff, both musically and non-musically, and guys tend to be more into that sort of thing, at least the ones I know.
My best friend is a woman, and we get along great. No competition, just love and mutual respect.
I think it's all an individual thing, your interests and your goals.

The problem is that wikipedia, while good in some instances, is dominated by liberals and persons of sexually immoral appetites. They love "gender" because that allows them to unlink the behavior from the biology and thus justify their chosen perversions.
From Websters:
Gender. 1.a. A set of two or more categories, as masculine, feminine, and neuter, into which words are divided according to sex, animation, psychological associations, or other characteristic and that govern agreement with or the selection of modifiers, referents, or grammatical forms.
b. One category of such a set.
c. The classification of a word or grammatical form in such a category
d. The distinguishing form or forms used
Sex. 1.a. The property or quality by which many living things are classified according to tehir reproductive functions.
b. One of two divisions, either male or female, of this classification
Today's libertine culture has tried to use gender to describe humans (again to break the link between repoductive biology and behavior) but that is still an incorrect usage of the word.
Words have genders. People have sexes.

And to get back on topic...
I'm not quite sure why I get along with women best excpet for maybe the lack of competition (Thanks SSS!). I don't have to 'beat' the women at anything in order to relate to them well so it's just more relaxed. (Of course I still seldom lose at games but that's neither here nor there)

john it basically means different things in different circumstances. wiki isnt the only one to distinguish between these differences. you conveniently forgot to quote webster's definition 2 and which since OP is talking about interaction it is relevant:
the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex
