Wilburns Alabama Lightning / Perry’s Little Thunder - 10/9/2008 6:40:45 PM

I know that both of these recordings were done on the same night in 1990 at the same civic center. It seems like I heard at one time that there was one other group that recorded a live project that night.
Any know who and what CD it was?

There is a group from North Georgia called the Hasty's. They made a live recording in Alabama, and it's very possible that they were the other group that night. They were signed with Eddie Crook, and I think the Perry's and the Wilburns were both with Eddie at that time as well.
To answer your question, I think the group was "The Hasty's"

It wasn't the Hasty's. The Hasty's were still Harvest at that time. It was another Morningstar recording group.

Best I remember, there were only the two groups there that night. I do know The Hasty's weren't there. I've only seen them in person once, and that was when we sang with them in Gainesville, GA at a benefit concert. I know The Sons Family did one a few years ago at the Bessemer Civic Center.

It was only Wilburns and Perrys that night.

I got the 3 pack videos a while back... they are GREAT.. and I'm going to see the Perrys tomorrow and I'm looking forward to getting their new DVD from NQC. (has anybody seen it?)

Yes, and I love it!
They took footage from 2006 and 2007 - that would be 6 sets (~24-28 songs) and selected the 10 best performances. With that wide a selection, what made the cut was pretty high quality. 
I got the video yesterday at the concert and you are right.... it's great.
But answer me this..... Who was that that jumped up on stage during "I wish I could have been there".... it never shows a good close up of them and I cant figure out who it is

I watched the video again on Saturday and just noticed that. I couldn't make heads or tails of who it was.
I know there was one of the sets where Mark Trammell Trio came on by the end, but I thought they all came on together.

I haven't seen the video yet, I know that is bad, but haven't had time. But
it was probably Joseph's brother Tim, if it's a young guy in a suit. He is now
on the bomb squad in the Air Force.

I've seen the Perrys tons of times... and yesterday was without a doubt the best I had ever heard them. The harmonies was so tight and perfect. My girlfriend and her parents have followed the Perrys for years, and this was the first time they ever got to see them in person and they had a wonderful time.
Let me tell ya how great these people are.... I saw them back in April and my gf wanted to be there, but was admited to the hospital that same day. Her favorite song is "His Name Is John." Libbi, Joseph and Matt (the former piano player... which btw is a great singer) was so gracious to hang around after church and let me film them singing that song so I could send it to my gf.
IMO... you'll never meet a finer bunch of people.

I hope your enjoyed the race this past weekend!! I love
Nascar, our whole family does. Going to a race is an

Libbi we had a great time but we are looking forward to hearing you guys on Friday (maybe Thursday too if I can make my schedule work)! Poor Carl had a rough week and I hated that but then so did a lot of folks. Maybe this week JJ and some of the others will have a rough one and give them a chance to catch up!!!!
