Driver. Being driver seems to keep me occupied thus taking out the bordem of a trip no matter short or long.

depends on the person who would BE the driver. backseat drivers are such a pain, i let them drive. but generally i love driving. especially fast.

Driver. I don't do well as a passenger. I was in a serious accident as a wee little girl (about half a year after the photo in my avatar was taken) and though I'm a lot better than I was 30 years ago, I am in a lot of fear and tension if I'm the passenger.

The passenger. If/When I marry, I really hope my husband wants to do most of the driving.

You bring up a good point. When I was married, CS always drove (never mind the fact that I don't drive - heehee). But him, I very much liked the way he drove, and I loved being the passenger. There's one other person that I can think of, off the top of my head, that I enjoyed being a passenger with; and I was in the back seat at that. He was an excellent driver. With some people though, I truly close my eyes and pray.

Well, I lost my license due to medical issues in '96, and finally got it back in '06, so hopefully, you will be able to get your license again, too.

Well, I lost my license due to medical issues in '96, and finally got it back in '06, so hopefully, you will be able to get your license again, too. Thanks! When I moved from AL to WY, I decided not to get a driver's license but rather just a state i.d. I've given a lot of thought to this; especially over the past couple of years. I'm not sure that I necessarily want to drive again. It would be very nice to take trips whereever I wanted to go without having to fly; and it would be heavenly to live out in the country . . . but I still haven't reconciled whether I really want to drive again or not. I've even considered getting a license (once I can ethically and legally do so again) but only driving when I go on a trip and using my trike for everyday stuff. Maybe I could be a little old lady who lived out in the country and drove her car into town once / month. I'm glad you got your license back! 10 years is a long time. Was the adjustment from driving to not driving easy or hard for you? What about the adjustment from not driving to driving again?

No, it's not realy a private thing; I've spoken about it here in the threads. Depending on which state, one has to be seizure-free for anywhere from 6 months up to a year. My personal goal (regardless of the state) is a minimum of one year. When I get to that, I'll re-evaluate and do some more praying about it.

Going from driving to not driving was easy, because I HATED driving before. However, going to driving again was a joy! I was surprised, but over the years I prayed I would be a better driver when I drove again, and I think God answered that prayer. Of course, now I drive a Volvo, and before I drove a '68 Ford Mercury, an unmanageable boat, so I think that makes a difference.

Passenger. If I drive, we wouldn't be going anywhere as I can't drive.
