If you have satellite radio, which service do you use? Have you heard the competition and become envious? Describe what you like and don't like about satellite radio...maybe things specific to your provider. What channels do you listen to? On the poll, check the service you prefer...or if you like the idea of the two companies merging, check that as your option.

I don't have either, but I would consider it if the merger is ultimately approved.

I have listened to XM for several years. I love the various channels but XM 32 the message is great as well as the Spirit XM channel. Christian SAT radio really compliments christian music because it lets the music be the music without all the voice overs/ commercials etc. I have had the opportunity to converse with XM32 manager Jim Epperlein and he really has a heart for God and Christian music. Given the change in today's CCM radio market, there are very few places you can go and still hear classic artist on the same station as Hyperstatic Union, Kutless, or salvador. On XM32 you get to hear the current Christian Pop & rock as well as the classics from Keith Green, Steve Camp, Dion, Larry Norman, Sweet Comfort Band and more. It's wonderful. I don't know much about Sirus? Can anybody tell us what thier Christian programming is like?

I've had XM for a little over a year now. I really like it - mainly because it beats broadcast/commercial radio by a country mile. I could have gone either way with the services, I just happened to have the right amount of gift cards at a particular big box store which had an XM reciever on sale. If they had had one for Sirius at the same price, I probably would have gone with it, as I had heard Sirius is somewhat better than XM. I hope and pray that they don't merge (it's illegal by current law, I believe), as the price will probably double or triple if they do - with no competition, they can charge whatever they want. The station I enjoy most is the "Deep Tracks" classic rock - album tracks instead of the tired old songs that get played 8 times a day on the local stations. There are also some decent jazz, house/techno, country and classical stations as well. I have about 25 or so stations programed on my remote. Can't wait until they bring back the Led Zeppelin channel in the fall. And Bob Dylan's "Theme Time Radio" hour is the best music show on any kind of radio anywhere. It has to be heard to be believed.
