Hi. There was a book, nonfiction, that was advertized on crosswalk up to a few months ago, that gave an over-view of old testament and new testament history, aimed at helping Christians understand the covenants, and while not assuming a Messianic lifestyle per se, yet realizing the Jewishness of Jesus and the practices in His time on earth as having some importance to our faith today. The publisher of this tile was something like Shulan or Sholan Press. If you can help with title and author, that would sure be great!! (Drussell52)

I did not see the ad, but there are several books out there that I know of (and probably many more that I DON'T) that are kind of in that vein. "Messianic Jewish Manifesto" by David Stern "Jewish Roots" by Dan Juster "Torah Rediscovered" by Ariel Berkowitz "Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah" by Edershiem Most of these are available here: http://www.messianicjewish.net/dept-books.html There is also Philip Yancy's "The Jesus I Never Knew." I have not looked at it but have heard it is pretty good.

I have a workbook selected for the study I may be doing in winter, but think this particular title I'm asking for, may be more suitable to the small group but hopefully doesn't water things down to the point where people go away saying gee that was nice to read and talk about but ... The workbook likely to be used, Hebraic Roots: An Intro by McKee and Huey, is somewhat confrontational and challenging to the reader, and can see some perhaps being intimidated. Perhaps someone else has an idea of this forgotten title. Thanks though for responding!
