Ok, we've had the wedding thread, the dream house thread, the dream land thread, the kids names thread...the kids thread..so now it is time for the honeymoon thread. What is your ideal honeymoon location? Mine USED to be Prince Edward Island, when I was heavily into Anne of Green Gables, but that has changed, 'cause I'm not AS into her anymore, and I also realize that might not be appealing to a guy.

Now, I think more of Hawaii, although if that's not feasible, there are all kinds of ideal spots right in California, so that is nice. I think as long as we're near a beach, I'll be happy!

I think Europe would be ideal for me. Not sure if I'd want to stay in one city or travel about the continent. But that's definitely where I'd like to go!

I'd really like Peru or maybe Brazil. But, if we didn't have the money - then southern California would be really nice. Or even Atlanta or Miami.

I love the Anne series too so I too think PEI would be cool to visit, not sure that it'd be ideal for me for a honeymoon though. I'd definately consider it for a vacation. I think Jamaica or Belize would be great.

And I'll tritto it!

I used to want to go to the Pocono mountains during a time where there's snow... you know, so you could spend a lot of time indoors snuggling. But I dunno. Now I think I'd want something a little more adventurous or see some place we might not have opportunity to visit again. Some exotic beach would be nice, or some place where we could swim with the dolphins. Some place memorable, for sure!

M and I did Jamaica. We were there for 9 days but only got out and about on two of them. Spent most of the time at the hotel.

Another place we really enjoyed was Cayman Islands. (we were on the east end of Grand Cayman which is mostly undeveloped.) Cayman's are also something like 98% Christian. Although they do have a town called "hell" there. Sent my pastor a post card. "Hey Pastor, Went to Hell. It wasn't so bad"

And of course Hawaii. Only did Oahu but hit every beach on the island (Had a one day tour of the big island)

Depending on the lady God brings me for my wife, I'd liek to either do another island trip or Ireland. Mountains and hiking would be OK too I guess. Someplace where we have the touristy things if we want them yet can get alone and get out into nature too. I'm not picky, I just want it all.

How about a log cabin way back in the middle of nowhere with lots of good scenery, peace and quiet; within driving distance of "things" and I'm not picky about what country or state its in... except no deserts please.

Herefordshire. Or anything there thereabouts.

Come to the Caribbean. And I don't mean Jamaica.

There are a whole host of islands down here. St. Lucia is fine for sea & beach activities (parasailing & sea cruises). Barbados if you want to sunbathe and throw in a few sightseeing tours. If you want an eco-adventure, I'd recommend Dominica (island of 1000 waterfalls) they've even got warm waterfalls and natural pools there - totally enjoyable.

I like the log cabin idea...somewhere in the mountains...maybe in Colorado, or BC, or Switzerland. It really wouldn't matter much where we honeymoon.

Well, since my future husband will most certainly be Latino or Italian , I'd go to the opposite kind of place (if it turns out that way). I'm thinking Venice, Tuscany.... more Venice. :)

Either Niagra Falls or The Hoover Dam in Las Vegas.

Maybe San Francisco.

My personal opinion is to not spend too much $$ on a honeymoon destination since a lot of time is spent "getting to know each other" - and one hotel is just as good as another for that!

Honestly though - I'd rather splurge on a second honeymoon when you will really be able to appreciate the location AND company!

Spoken from experience - my 2 cents - take it or leave it as you wish!

Like, the northwestern part of North Carolina... the Blueridge Mountains

Absolutely beautiful part of the country. M and I had a second honeymoon there and it was fantastic.

FYI - we drove 8 hrs to Minneapolis for our honeymoon. It wasn't too expensive - and we had fun! We went to Valleyfair and a baseball game, you know, when we had to go out for air!

My ideal Honeymoon would be to spend a week in the mountains of NC beside a river in peaceful serenity.

I like the idea of a long drive and scenic locations ... anywhere is fine with me.

Somewhere secluded where I wouldn't need to worry about getting dressed and looking just-so before leaving the room. A private island or a cabin on private property. Doesn't matter. Just somewhere we can be without interruptions or city noise and can go outside to enjoy nature whenever we wanted to day or night.

I think a cabin in the mountains that is secluded enough that it requires horseback to get there.

BTW, has anyone noticed the typo on the thread title?

Just curious....

And to stay on topic, I've never actually thought about honeymoon locations much. But I'd go for either a mountains or beach locale.
