{{{MRS KIMMY}}} good to see you back! I can't wait to see all of your pictures and any stories you wish to share.

quote:

I suggested a PO box to her yesterday...it was a no go for her Too inconvenient for her to change her address more than once.

That comes under the category of "too bad" (said in my best Judge Judy voice) she has known for months and months.

I'm mean, but after a week I'd start writing "not at this address" on the envelopes. Let her pick it up at the PO.

quote:

I also got irked when I found out that at my wedding when people were doing the normal social thing of chatting and asking how they knew us, Marcia was telling people she was my roommate and that I was forcing her to move, and that she had no place to go yet. Arrgghhh.

I know you are trying to be nice, but she really sounds like a piece of work.

quote:

Between the anger, the guilt, the exasperation, the impatience and feeling manipulated, I've been through an emotional wringer. And that doesn't count having a new husband who's moved into the house, that adjustment, and the house being a complete mess. It hasn't been the best week, to be honest.

Maybe she has the unconsious impression that if she continues to be uncooperative, that this will all go away and she won't have to go. Like that's going to happen. Time for the girl to grow up and do what needs to be done.

Welcome back, Kimberly!!!!! (and Andrew too, of course)

Kath pretty much spoke my words/thoughts on the whole Marcia issue. Time for some firm boundaries not offering suggestions, but telling her what you expect her to do...."I understand that this is troubling to you, however, you have known for 3 mths that this day was coming, my new husband and I are starting our life together, so here's your choices... have the mail forwarded OR get PO box." I'd say she sounds like she needs CHOICES not OPTIONS. (grrrrr)

Praying that Andrew finds a good full time job. ((((((((Kimberly and Andrew)))))))))

Praying about the Marcia situation. Praying for you and Andrew, and praying for Marcia.

I agree with the boundary thing. If you are going to allow another month right now, okay, but Marcia should know that there will be no extension beyond that.
I also agree with you Kimberly that Marcia probably isn't "seeing" how unreasonable and manipulative her behavior is.
You have been a wonderful friend to her. And like someone else said...far more patient than I would have been I think.

suggested a PO box to her yesterday...it was a no go for her Too inconvenient for her to change her address more than once. I did suggest a temporary forward to her sister's house where she's staying, but that was rejected as well. I don't like to offer her suggestions anymore. They almost always get turned down, and I get told why the particular suggestion won't work for her. It's easier for me to just put up with this for a month or so and not give her a chance to unload on me.

She is displaying passive aggressive behavior. I'm with Kath. Tell her to stop at the Post Office and file a change of address. It isn't that hard. She could even just have them hold her mail for her to pick up until she gets a new address. Normally, I would say it's no big deal to just hold someone's mail for them for a while but she's using this as an opportunity to punish you with her tears and dispair.

quote:

Manipulated is exactly how I feel, but I do believe she's not doing it on purpose, that it's just become automatic and without thought for her.

Nah. She's doing it on purpose. Just like she purposely told people at the wedding that you were kicking her out. Fortunately, she didn't speak to Phil or I and say that. &:)

I can't believe Marcia even thinks that is a problem, that people would be aghast to hear it or something. Of course she has to move.

Actually it's too bad, because I think you might have set her straight, in a nice way of course. :) I like that about you.

I probably would have told her how I had to kick my niece out when Phil and I married. LOL!!

Welcome back,
Andrew & Kimmie!

I can't believe Marcia was saying something like that! What was she expecting? That the 3 of you would be imitating Jack, Janet, & Chrissy? Gimme an everlovin' break!! She sounds an awful lot like my neice.

Mary's oldest biological sister has a daughter who is bipolar and schizophrenic - when it suits her. Personally, I think that she enjoys the attention she gets when she hears voices or sees things that aren't really in the room. A number of people have prayed for her healing, including some deliverance ministry, but to no avail. I've told her how she can help herself when these things occur by giving her Scripture to quote and things to say to the voices. A lot of times she claims that the voices just keep saying her name over and over again. I've told her to say, "That's my name - don't wear it out! And be gone in Jesus' Name!" But she keeps ignoring my advice! SHEEESH! What'migonnadowidher?!? Anyone got an idea?

I know whereof you speak, Darcy. I've had some of the same sort of rotten thoughts (all in jest) about my b-i-l's new wife. She is never, in mine and Mary's eyes, going to be our s-i-l. Only an outside interloper who is very much unwanted. Well, let me clarify that "never" statement: as long as she remains unrepentant about her past actions, it'll be never. If the day come when she admits to her wrongdoings and and honestly asks for our forgiveness, then Mary and I have no choice to forgive her. Bur it'll take a long time for her to earn our trust back - a very lo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ng time. In the meantime, his ex-wife, the mother of their only son, will be our s-i-l. The current one? She's known as " the Bimbo."

Been there, Duane. My brother's second wife was originally his secretary, and first wife didn't have a clue what was going on till he decided to divorce her.

But at least I don't have to put up with her, or him for that matter. He stopped speaking to me when I started dating my late dh.....didn't have a clue till then that he was a racist.
