Hot Air is a good place to get the information. I've also been following these websites:

http://robinsonandlong.com/
http://michellemalkin.com/
http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/
http://patterico.com/
http://www.politico.com/
http://realclearpolitics.com/
http://www.powerlineblog.com/

Robinson and Long is one that Hugh mentioned on his show. it's fairly new, and it's a great resource.

Many of those 'peace' protesters are anything but peaceful, unfortunately. Did you hear about what happened to Michelle Malkin at the DNC? Here's a link to the video. It's frankly disgusting to see a male treat a woman that way.

Steve, I heard about that awful slanderous story from the Daily Kos crowd. They should be ashamed of themselves, as should Andrew Sullivan. I'm sending a complaint about him to the Atlantic Monthly via their website.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the RNC. I think it'll be a good convention.

I kinda wish I was still involved in politics. I probably could have gotten into the convention. But then I remember why I got out of it.

I've read a lot of those websites, but a couple are new to me. I'll check them out.

Yeah, it's not an easy field to be involved in, that's for sure. I get really frustrated with posts in the election folder on this forum, so I can't imagine how much more difficult it is to deal with that type of stuff in person.

Yeah, it will suck the soul right out of you if you let it. After a while, I was considering it idolatry.
It was pretty frustrating.

I think Sarah is strong enough to handle what's coming in the next couple of months. I do hope she is! I'm waiting to hear her speech during the RNC and I hope she hits a home run out of the park. We need it.

I finally got my new blog going - here's a link to it: http://idyllicdreams.wordpress.com/ I'm trying to remain somewhat anonymous on it, so if anyone does comment there, please don't use my name or Andrew's name. I'm not trying to remain totally anonymous, if you know me you'll know it's my blog, but I didn't feel like putting names on it. Although I did mention and link to my church :P

That's very cool, Kimmy! I've been giving some thought to setting up a blog. Still toying around with the idea a little.

Thanks, Karlie :) Blogging can be very fun. I decided to keep this blog light and not have tons of stuff going on the side like the blog that's still up on my website.

I was looking at some of the personal blogs I really like to read and took some hints from what they were doing. I was feeling pretty bogged down in the other blog and didn't feel like continuing with it.

I did some thrift store shopping on Saturday and found this cute little cell phone holder brand new at the thrift store for $4.00!!! What a deal! It's in perfect condition, and is so cute! Woohoo!!!

Now to go fix breakfast for the week. Andrew is still at work, I hope he's getting paid for most of these hours! He doesn't tell them how many hours he's actually working when he's doing OT alone at the office. He knows better, but does it anyway. Silly man :P

Kimberly, glad you got out of that job when you did. It was just the right timing by the sounds of it.

Yep. I think it was Dennis Prager who said something like this on his show this week: The thing a liberal man fears most is a conservative woman.

:D

Rudy is on now...Sarah will be giving her speech this hour. From all I've been reading, it's going to be a fantastic speech (and from all reports she wrote it herself). This is the best line from it:

quote:

"And since our opponents in this presidential election seem to look down on that experience, let me explain to them what the job involves. I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities."

I'm eagerly waiting.

The UK paper "The Sun" has a very informative article about her: Why Sarah has X appeal:

quote:

SHE is the moose-hunting mum-of-five who could soon be the second most powerful person on the planet.

Ex-beauty queen Sarah Palin has arrived out of the political — and geographical — wilderness to send shockwaves through the US Presidential race.

The gun-toting Alaskan Governor’s appointment as John McCain’s running mate has been met with glee by many conservative Republicans.

Rudy is great! Heehee!

quote:

"He couldn't decide whether to vote yes, or no. It was too tough!" Giuliani at his best, the wide-eyed mugging comedian. "I didn't know about this 'voting present' thing when I was mayor of New York City. Sarah Palin didn't have this vote present when she was mayor or governor. For President of the United States, it's not enough to be present. You have to make a decision."

I just stumbled across the blog of John McCain's daughter Meghan - scroll down to the post about Girl Power and watch the video :)

It's a neat behind the scenes look at the campaign and convention.

I hope this isn't a true video, but I'm afraid it is. I am amazed at what people with no God will turn to as important...
