LOL! I heard a clip of that on Michael Medved's radio program, and he even said it sounded like a parody, but suspected it wasn't. After watching some of it (really, who can take all of that seriously? I began laughing!) I think it's probaby for real.

I've heard there are some environmental groups that really behave like that, so I bet it is.

I'm mourning the insects that they are squishing while they mourn the trees. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I just found this online...a local couple in Pittsburgh attended a McCain/Palin rally and they brought their 5 year old daughter who has Down Syndrome. They had a sign that said "We (heart) kids with Down Syndrome" and it was noticed by McCain and Palin. A secret service agent came to them and asked them to come with him. They did, and they met the McCains and the Palins. It's an amazing story, and it tells you something about the type of people the McCains and Palins are. Here's an article on KDKA's website, and here's an article on Rush Limbaugh's site, along with photos. Then there's this, from Obama. He should be ashamed of himself. As Hugh said, Obama's either dim or a jerk. Personally, I vote for both. I think I might post this in the election 08 folder...dunno, though, because I get so angry when I read some of the posts there.

If I was an American, I'd vote for Sarah Palin. She seems awesome, though no one I've talked to here agrees at all. quote:
That's very cool, Kimmy! I've been giving some thought to setting up a blog. Still toying around with the idea a little. Karlie, if you do set up a blog, I'd be interested in following it. If you're okay with that, when you DO set one up (next week, next year), would you give me the URL if you don't make it public here? Kimberly, I've subscribed to your blog and will look at it more closely later. I'm watching someone out my window (I'm not home) juggling torches on fire. Amazing!

I think when I do get one set up, I'll give the link in my signature. I'm still playing with ideas on what to call it and all that. I have no idea how to make it pretty, or post artwork like Kimmy did, so I'm still messing around with a few sites. quote:

I figured you meant where you were at the time of the post, Maggie :P Thank you for your comment on my blog! I love the clipart I found for the header, and that quote is one I found on a small paper sachet some years ago. I spent a lot of time trying to come up with a name and a look for my new blog, and I went through some of the clipart CDs that I have, looking for some clipart that I liked. I had a notion of the feel I wanted for my blog, and I figured I'd know the clipart to use when I saw it. I found some that I liked, but when I saw that one I fell in love with it. It was so idyllic! I was also looking for a quote to use on the blog as well. Once I found the clipart I thought of summer and recalled some of that quote, so I did a google search and I found it. Then all I did was crop the clipart and play with the edge of it a bit, and choose a font for the quote. Voila! Sounds easy, yes? It took me over 5 hours... Karlie, you could always try Blogger.com for your blog. I found a site that offers free blog designs for blogger blogs, you can see them here

Karlie, you could always try Blogger.com for your blog. I use blogger and really enjoy it. It's very easy to use and versatile. I do like the look of Wordpress blogs though. Kimberly, do they cost? And how does using them differ from other blog providers? I'll have to check out the link you gave. Karlie, Blogger is so easy to use even my computer illiterate friend was able to create a blog when she went on a long trip with her family. And you don't have to make it look just as you want at the beginning. Blogger gives you templates to choose from. You pick the one you like best and you're ready to write your first post. As time progresses and you gain confidence, you can make changes in appearance and such. They're layout options are a lot of fun too--and so easy. I'm willing to help if you get stuck but you won't.

Wordpress blogs are free. You can use them in two ways...download the software (wordpress.org) and install it on your website (much more versatility doing it that way!), or go to wordpress.com and register for a blog that's hosted on their site. There's not as much versatility that way. No javascript allowed on the blogs, which minimizes what you can add and do with with blog. My current blog is hosted on the wordpress.com site. They have templates from which you can choose, and some of them allow you to customize the header. The template I'm using (Misty Look) allows for a customizable header. You should sign up and check it out, Maggie. I think blogger.com is probably superior, but I like the look of the template I'm using which is why I went with wordpress.

I'm doing well, Trish :) How are you? I found an amazing and touching blog by a woman named Angie, who is the wife of Todd from the group Selah. It's the story of their daughter, Audrey Caroline, who was diagnosed in the womb with polycystic kidneys, a too large heart, no amniotic fluid and her lungs weren' developing. She died soon after her birth I haven't had time to read much more than the beginning of the story, but the little I've read is amazing.

It's amazing to see what gifts God gives to those who choose life. Even in a situation that so many would see as awful with no redeeming factors, God's love can be made known.

Kimmy, here is another blog I have followed since nearly the beginning. My cousin knows her. They lost a baby just a few hours after her birth...she's in the process of having a book published about her journey. This woman has amazed me with her trust and complete faith in God. Even in her deepest pain, she has expressed joy and gratitude for God's blessings. Read it from the beginning if you can...it's been an amazing inspiration to me. Oh, and to the right, is a video clip of them with right baby before she passed(My Chains are Gone) It's very sad, but touching at the same time.

While we're at it, this blog belongs to the former youth pastor at my church. His wife has stage 4 brain cancer. In July they gave her two weeks.

Karlie, thank you for the link to that wonderfully encouraging blog. Bill, that is a sad blog, but also filled with faith. I'll be praying as well.
