I wanna know how I can wear eye makeup and not end up looking like a raccoon by the end of the day.

I think I am officially done with the semester.

I took the third test earlier today before work.

Tonight I did all the homework except one problem that looks like too much work to do for two points.

I really, really, really hope she will give me an A. I have one point over what she says is needed for an A, if I am calculating correctly. If she takes a few points off the exam so that the person with the top score will have 100% I will be a few more points above the line for an A. If she takes off points for late work that will put me down in the B range.

Thanks for your best wishes for an A!

Ugh, I am groggy today. I was up til past 4 AM finishing homework stuff so I could get all the points I was missing. I woke up at 6:something AM to use the bathroom, which is something that almost never happens to me. I was surprised to see it was light out then. Then Matt called me a little before 10. Then I went back sleep and got up at 12.

Last night I didn't eat any real food on my lunch break because I wasn't really hungry. After I got home I was going to eat something, but then I got too caught up in my accounting homework. This morning my stomach feels a dull ache. I wish someone was home to make me some food.

I think summer might have finally arrived here. The current temperature is 84*. This weekend it is supposed to be in the low-mid 90's. Perhaps it is safe now to pack up my sweaters until late September.

Nope. San Fran itself is cooler than the rest, but the whole bay area is above 90* this week/weekend.

It was so very nice out tonight. I wish I could have been outside instead of inside with no windows at work. I love being outside at dusk when it is warm and not cold. Tonight during my lunch break I realized it has been forever since I have seen a sunset.

Hi Catherine, Christine and Brandy!

((((Brandy)))) For the heat while pregnant and no hot water!!

((((Christine)))))

((((Catherine))))

I have been seeing the reports about the temps along the coast lately. Even 86 in Seattle!!

We have been just making the low 70's. The next couple of days though are only in the 60s but I am LOVINIT!!

Catherine, I hope you get to see a sunset soon. Maybe this weekend.
I think I am going to see a sunRISE quite soon. The birds are really chirping this morning now. I love hearing that with no traffic noises or other activity going on.

Ah, I love summer. It is so much nicer to be alive when I feel warmed from the sun instead of freezing.

Yesterday "morning" (early afternoon actually) we took the dogs to the dog park before I had to be at work. Unfortunately it was just us there until right when we were about to leave. All these Reno people are wimps about the heat.
Since the dog park was not that fun, I had Matt take the dogs home earlier than needed and then I went and got my hair trimmed. It looks pretty much the same as the day before, except the layers go a bit higher up and I had her layerize the bottom a bit more so it didn't look so shabby. I asked one person at my work if my hair looked any different and she said, "It looks like you got it textured."

Today I go back to working 3:30-12 on Mondays instead of 9-5:30 (which is why I am home to write this post ). Matt said, "Aww, that is sad." Wow, I am surprised he will miss the extra night with me.

This week will probably be busy.

Tuesday I am going in to the appraisal office to help out for a few hours.

Wednesday I will go in for two hours of overtime at my regular job. It isn't much, but it will make it so I am already out of the house. I have been wanting to go shopping for a new swimsuit, but I have a hard time leaving the house if it is not time to go to work.

Either Tuesday or Wednesday night we are going to Carson City. We will have dinner there and then go see the new Narnia movie. I told Matt he could invite his Carson City friend if he wanted, so we are waiting to hear back from him if he and his fiancee are free either of those nights. They might not be though since they are getting married on Saturday.

I should probably give my dogs haircits before we leave for Florida. I know dogs need their coats for both warmth and cooling, but I don't think all the extra shaggyness helps anything.

Have I ever mentioned how crazy the weather is here? The high Saturday was 95, Sunday 95, Monday 92. Tuesday's predicted high is 87. The rest of the week? Wednesday 61, Thursday 67 and rain, Friday 72, Saturday 68 and rain. Arg! Finally Reno leaves it freezing state and now it is going right back.
Interestingly enough, the weather in Vegas is supposed to drop to the 70's this week. Wow. I am sure all the people who live there will be amazed. The average temperature there for this time of the year is the low 90's.

Princess has urinated on the floor twice in the past three days. *grumble*grumble*grumble*. I am going to call the vet tomorrow morning and bring her in. I do not know why she is acting so bad. If it isn't that she is sick, then what do we do with her? She can't be an exclusively outside dog because she barks and digs. I would feel to bad making her spend most her life in a crate.

Look into behavioral training for her if the vet doesn't find anything wrong. I bet Petsmart, Petco, and the humane society offer something of that nature.

Urinating on the floor is not normal. Ask them to check for a urinary tract infection. They will take some urine from her and see if she has white blood cells or red and go from there. Sounds like she's got something going on.

When dogs/cats pee on your belongings it's personal, but a floor is more likely they aren't feeling well.

Does she get enough exercise? Boredom can cause problems. And I don't mean out in the back yard, I mean a long hard walk daily that has the both of you tired.

Not so much exercise. I hardly get any exercise myself.
Back when we first got Princess we took her to the dog park every other day so she could run around and play with the other dogs there. Then when we got our second dog we stopped going to the dog park as much because we figured they could play together at home. Since it has been winter a long time we haven't done much with the dogs outside in a while. Once in a while we will play fetch in the house. Usually when they seem bored I will give them hard stuff to chew on like pig hooves or roasted bones.

And Princess did go to a dog training class when she was a puppy (it was a puppy training class actually). That was for six weeks at PetCo. She sort of passed that class. At the end she wouldn't walk on a leash without pulling, and wouldn't do down or down stay. She has learned down and down stay since then, but still won't walk on a leash without pulling unless she is tired like when we have been at the dog park for a long time.

They have classes specifically for misbavior re-training. Different from the basic puppy class comands. That might be an option if the vet decides she's healthy. He/she might even be able to point you in the right direction.

Do you think I can do it?

So, I mentioned a few months ago in this thread that I only need one more class to get my general studies AA. The class category is "human relations," for which none of the 84 credits I already have count.
There aren't very many classes that even fit under this category. Out of the list of them only one class is being offered this summer. And that one class just so happens to be in the first summer session. The first summer session runs 05/27/08–06/27/08. My trip to Florida is 05/31/08-06/08/08.

Here is what someone else who took the same class during summer session has to say:
This was a very well structured online class. It was over the course of a month in the summer, and completely doable. Assignments were discussions on the bulletin, quizzes and tests, which were obviously open-book and fairly easy. I didn't have a whole lot of interaction with the instructor, but he had made everything very clear and easy.

Can I do this considering I will be gone during nine days of it? I seriously doubt I would spend any time with the class while we were at Disney World, but the last part of the trip during the wedding I might be able to. We have a whole lot of airport waiting time on the last day, though we might actually leave the airport and go do something else (I am talking a seriously long time... like almost all day).

I figure at the very least I can enroll in the class (if it is even still open at this point), look at the syllabus and due dates of assignments, and withdrawal right away if I don't think I can do it.

Catherine,

If I may ask you some questions for you to ponder, please:

(A) What is the possibility of your studying and giving time to the class from 5/27 - 5/31?

(B) How likely do you think it will be that you will devote any time to the class during your trip (even during the last part of it)?

(C) Would you really be able to study and concentrate in a possibly very busy and frenetic airport?

9 days out of 30 is almost 1/3 of the entire class. That's a pretty high percentage of days not devoted to the class.

Additionally, when you return from your trip, there will be things to "get caught up on". There's always that bit of a "acclimation lag" also when returning home from a trip.

What is the name of the class that you're taking?

It seems like it would be too much to do in teh amount of time that you have to do it. I think it's great that you want to try, I think that you should enjoy your vacation and really make it a vacation. Otherwise I think your stress level while there will just be too high to enjoy it.
