Hi Kga.

Hi Trish and Sharon!

*sigh* 1 hour and 49 minutes until the Wednesday of my work week is over.

Monday I am scheduled to go to the appraisal office for a couple hours. I haven't been there in a long time.

Tuesday we are having a shift bid here at work and everyone chooses new schedules in order of seniority. I thought I would be higher on the list this time, but now since they don't hire full-time people there are even less people below me than before. Last time I was 7th to last and this time I am 4th to last. They have quite a lot of full-time schedules with Saturday and Sunday off, and I am reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeealllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyy hoping I can get one. I would also love to move up to the noon-9 or 1-10 shift. We shall see how it goes.

Which one would I prefer between noon-9 and 1-10? Probably noon-9 because that is getting home one hour earlier.

(((((Catherine))))) Buck up girl!! Someone is counting on you to rejoice with them at their purchase of some cool and meaningful jewelry to them.

Take the opportunity to let your little light shine and be a beacon to those who buy compulsively...because they are lonely. (inspirational music playing in background)....

Are you ready to gag yet?? LOL!

Uh... I get far more callers who are disgruntled that they missed a piece of jewlery that probably wouldn't be meaningful but was cheap.

I was hoping to get to leave work early tonight to escape from the boredom. I probably could have if the supervisor would have been working and looking at call numbers and such. Instead she was sitting and reading jokes to the people sitting around her. The new assistant supervisor hardly does any work at all. I almost never see her at her desk. She spends most of her day sitting by various people and chatting with them. It is really sad. Matt said, "Sounds like a sweet gig."

Hopefully tomorrow will be busier / go faster. Then I have Tuesday and Wednesday off, though I have a lot of Tuesday booked already. I have to go in for the shift bid, then I am going out to lunch with Matt, then I will go get my eyebrows waxed is time permits, then I have the dentist. Maybe I will get some new foster kittens this week too.

They said I could pick some more up tomorrow! Woohoo! It will be convenient since I will already be on the right side of town. I am hoping this time I get some "pretty" ones. I know that sounds bad, but so far all the kittens I have had are grey and brown, and I would like some that are white or white/black. I will still take whatever kittens they give to me though.

Hello from Michigan.

I've had a great weekend with family. it's been crazy.

I missed my flight on Friday night because I didn't have my driver's license. I left it at work. I didn't realize it until I was about 5 min from the airport. I paid $200 to rebook on a different flight. I almost didn't go, but my family talked me into it. I spent all day Saturday in airports and on airplanes. BLECH!!!

But ... it's been a lot of fun seeing cousins and aunts/uncles I haven't seen in forever.
I can't let it be another 7 years before coming up here again.

Well, I did OK in the shift bid. The only mid-day schedule that was left at my turn at Tuesday/Wednesday off, and those are blah days.

So I am doing swing shift again. I have three days of 2:30-11 and two days of 3:30-12. At least that is a 20% improvement from my old schedule. But the best part is... I get Friday and Saturday off!!!!! I have not had a weekend day off that wasn't unpaid or vacation since October!

It is taking me a bit to remember that I have the weekend off now. Matt said we should go hiking this weekend, and I said, "I don't want to get up early for that." Then I remembered, "Oh yah...."

We had lunch at Macaroni Grill. The waiter was weird. At first he was trying to sell us everything on the menu. Then after he brought our food he brought our check right after. Then we didn't see him again until five minutes after Matt put the credit card in the bill thingy. Matt's water was empty for half of the meal and the guy was never there to refill it. So he was annoying when we didn't need him and not there when we did need him. I don't think Matt left much of a tip.

Then I went and got some foster kittens! I am glad I had a few days break because that made me excited to get some more. I got a litter of three ferral kittens. One of them is nice and let me pick it up without hissing. The other two hissed so I picked them up with a towel. While in my arms in the towel one would let me pet it and one would not. The Humane Society workers said it shouldn't take them too long to come around since they are young and not that mean to start out with.
These kitties are the brown stripped kind with medium hair. Two of them have blue eyes, which is kinda cool. The other one has the yellow/green eyes.

And now in five minutes I have to go to the dentist. If you read this post in the next 1.5 hours please say a prayer for me.

I survived the dentist. I had one filling left on each side, and I expected he would give me two block shots and my whole mouth would be numb. Instead he just gave me one very long shot in each tooth. The one on the right was so far back it didn't make any of my face numb. The one on the left has made the lips numb around the outside edge, but not my tongue. With the left shot I could feel each time he inched it higher... ick.

I told the dentist about me having foster kittens. When he was done with the shots he said, "If we had an office kitten I would bring it to you, but we don't, I'm sorry." That made me smile.

My insurance didn't pay for as much last time as they had hoped. They don't cover nitrous or the pulp cap medicine. Owell.

No real plans for the rest of the day. Have to figure out something to make for dinner.

I haven't heard of anyone's insurance covering nitrous but not covering the medication surprises me.

I really and truly hate the shots to my upper mouth. I feel like they are almost hitting my eye.

I can't remember if I told you when linz had her first filling she didn't even get numb. No nitrous, nothing. She's made of sterner stuff than I.

Having waiters like that makes it hard to enjoy dinner.

Yay for more kitties! are your dogs getting more used to the kitties?

I am loving these new little kittens. When they first got home they were walking around the cage smelling it. One of them came upon the water dish and seemed pleasantly surprised to find it.

Two of the kittens will now let me pick them up. One of them is still not happy. I picked her up in the towel and she would growl every time I shifted positions and then when Matt came near she hissed.

These guys are so tiny. I put the two nice ones on the scale and they both only weighed 1 pound, 1 ounce. Wow!

No, my dogs still do not like the kittens. They keep trying to steal their wet food if they see their is some left in the cat crate. Princess will stick her tongue through the holes to try lick some.

It turns out that it angers the kittens if I move them to the cardboard carrier they came home in while I clean their crate and then put them back. It made the semi-nice kitten hiss at me again. Not sure what I will do the next time it is time to clean. I am not going to let them run around the whole great room/dining room/kitchen right now (the three rooms are connected with no walls/doors).

I put the scratching post in the crate with them since the crate is tall and one of them was scratching at the litter container. They have been playing on it and sitting on top of it and swatting around the ball that is on top.

Here are some pics: Foster Kitten III album

They are all very cute, Catherine :)

Just keep holding them and petting them, the not-so-nice ones will get used to it, it just takes time. Riley and his littermates were feral kittens when I found them, and look how well Riley turned out! They all hissed at me so ferociously when I first brought them into the house
