I'm surprised you still don't have the snow from last year.

It's really cold here too. Actually, the air temperature is fine, but the wind is wicked!!!!!

It's happened to me with American and United.

Well, last year it snowed on September 30, this year it waited an extra 10 days.

That is kinda weird Catherine.
We are suppose to be in the low 70s tomorrow, colorful leaves swirling and floating in the warm sunny breeze. Ahhhh, perfect Fall day.

I'll be thinkin' of ya

You want to slap me don't you! LOL!

Reno's at a high elevation, isn't it? That would be why you get snow early.

I think downtown Reno is about 4400 ft elevation. We live north of that and where we live is 4700-4800. We have more snow that stays longer over here. :(

Winnipeg elevation is 781 feet. We get the snow because we're further north.

Our furnace broke in March and we never got it fixed. Yah... not so good for this weekend. According to weather.com, the high on Friday was 42* and the high Saturday was 45*. We did buy a space heater in March that does a decent job. So me, Matt, Princess, and my two new foster kittens have spent pretty much all our time since Friday afternoon in the master bedroom, which is where the space heater is set up. The cats share one big crate and Princess has her normal crate that I drug in here to keep them separated. We take turns on which animal species gets to be out of their crate.

We had Sears come out Friday and give us an estimate on how much it would be to replace the furnace. Then we had a local company come out Saturday and their bid was $1,000 lower for the same kind of furnace. Wow. I didn't think Sears would be such a big rip off. The local company will install the new furnace on Monday or Tuesday. Yay!

Saturday we went to Johnny Carinos for an early dinner. The server asked if we wanted soup or salad, but did not mention that each of those things cost $2.49. Arg! We would not have ordered them if we knew they were not included. I ate bread, mozzarella sticks, the soup I ordered, the salad Matt ordered, and then I was not hungry any more. So I brought my entire entrée home. Matt is quite annoyed about that. Well, considering the soup and salad ended up not being free, it is good that I ate them all. I can reheat my entrée for lunch or dinner tomorrow.

This is the first weekend since I have has weekends off that we haven't had some event planned. It is kind of odd.

We don't have snow, so I guess that's why we get away with covering up with quilts and just having little heaters. We don't have a furnace or big heaters.

Christine would be married by now. Congrats, Christine and dh!

Argh to my cell phone

It needs to be replaced and I am due for an upgrade until January.

I let it sit on the charger all night last night, and didn't unplug the charger until 3 PM.

At 6:40 PM I make a 30 second call to a business to ask how late they are open, and then it tells me I only have half the battery life left.

While I am on the phone it beeps to tell me I have a voicemail. So I listen to the message and it is from Douglas. He called at noon and my phone did not even register the call. And then it doesn't pop up with the voicemail til 6.5 hours later.

Catherine is it the entire phone that needs to be replaced or just the battery?

Catherine, I was thinking the same thing. It could just be the battery.

The entire phone. It is not just the battery that is bad. I have a flip-open phone, and the hinge on the phone is also just about to break. The phone won't stay open on its own as I lift it up to my ear. I have had it hang up on calls I was trying to make between dialing and lifting to my ear.

Matt bought his smart phone/cell phone at the same time as mine and from the same manufacturer. He literally had to superglue it in a few places to get it to stay together.

wow, that is pretty bad. I've bought some phones that were all but worthless too, but none that actually were falling apart. We couldn't wait for the contract to run out so we could get new ones.

Linz got hers wet, and it died. So Larry was nice enough to let her use his and he uses the old, lousy one. It sounds like he is talking in a phone booth, sort of tinny. He can't get a new phone till Feb. At least it works.

What carrier do you use?

I know many places have free phones if you sign for another year of service.

We can't get a new phone till close to the end of the previous contract. Well, we can but we'd have to pay full price, hundreds of dollars more. I thought most plans are like that. Maybe not.

Well, today I got to the call center and told the scheduling lady that she could withdrawal my request for November 19-21 off, because those are not the right dates for my brother's graduation anymore. She actually had approved that and was going to give me the "approved" page today. She said, "Well, let me know when you know what the right dates are. I said, "Thanksgiving week. Do you think there is any chance I am going to get that off?" And she starts grimacing and she is like, "Well, put it in and we will see what we can do." I said, "Honestly, I am going to go whether you give it to me off or not."

Matt was supposed to take his Microsoft Certification test #2 today. He got to the testing center and they were like, "Oh sorry, we put you down for the wrong test. We will have to reschedule you." And Matt is like, "Can't you just load the right test and let me take it right now?" And they said, "No, our scheduling program doesn't work like that." Uhm, alrighty then. So now Matt has to go back there tomorrow. Dumb.

Tomorrow we are getting our new heater installed! Hurray! No more being huddled in one room.

So what do you think looks better?

Sweatshirt in navy or sweatshirt in grey? Though if I order the grey one I am going to change the letters to navy blue instead.

Some other color? I am going to order this from a "make your own shirt" site and the colors available are grey, light blue, red, light pink, royal blue, black, navy blue, and orange.

No sweatshirt at all? Do you think this is too cheesy?
