if insurance will pay for surgical biopsry removal, I'd do it.

My family history isn't something that I would want to wait on them to develop into cancer. My mom went over the list with me th other night of our familial cancer and it is depressing.

fine needle aspirate is where they use a needle, insert into cyst/lump and suck out tissue. squirt onto slide, make slide and look at under microscope.

he checked to see if it was cystic last night.

Eric thinks I should do the full biopsy, and that's what I'm leaning toward.

Kath, $15 per vist is my co-pay.

my family has no history of breast cancer.
we have a history of cancer, but not a strong history.

Doc said if I were 20 he'd tell me to keep an eye on it, but not do anything surgically. Since I'm 25 and have been on hormonal birth control, he's a little concerned, but mostly thinks it's nothing.

I've decided, after some consideration, not to continue my blog on CW. It just doesn't feel right at this point.

I do have my blog on my website, and if you want to follow it, the URL is in my profile.

I'm not restarting one here either.

For now, there is none anywhere but my brain.

OK. I'm scared. I'm sure it's nothing, but I'm scared. The more and more reading I do about breast mass biopsies and breast cancer the more I think about it and the more scared I get.

Could y'all please pray for my sanity?

I just talked with a co-worker for a few minutes about his mom's cancer and their situation. That helped a little, but I'm still scared.

thanks Maggie.

I went for a walk at lunch with my co-worker and was able to get some stuff outta my head and then not think about this.

Brandy - Hey! LTNS! I was hoping you'd transfer over into the new forums quickly. I've missed seeing your posts.

LJ accounts are neat; especially if others are reading them. I like that you can make a post private, just friends, or for all to see. I haven't posted in a while, but I think I might start up again. That used to be the way me and my friends from IL communicated, but they've lost interest in lj land, I think. :)

Christine - You are definitely in my prayers. I posted on your lj. How are you doing now?

well...if I could get my mind off my options long enough to do something else I'd be OK.

My sister, mom, BIL and I use LJ. My sister has lots of friends on LJ too. I like it OK.

cw didn't alert me to any of the posts on 4-20 :( I didn't know they were here.

Christine, I have had several biopsys and they found nothing wrong. My mom has had one too, I think and she was ok. We do have cancer in the family (who doesn't?). I know it is hard not to panic. You weren't on the pill that long were you? Did your research show how often cancer shows up in a person your age?

nothing on how often cancer shows up in 25 year olds. I know it's rare, and that's what I'm trying to tell myself. My mom's had 2 biopsies as well, and they were both negative.

I think I might also be stressing over the idea of doing a surgery, even if it is a minor outpatient procedure.

I was on the pill for 7 years.

I had the needle one, and it was a piece of cake, I am a BIG wuss and I handled it fine.

Then I had one where they had to do a traditional biopsy. They said I could go under as far as I want, and I said I wanted to know nothing, and I didn't. I was tired the next day still from the anethesia, but I don't remember any pain to speak of.

I had to call my cousin today because I forgot about yesterday being Columbine anniversary. He was thankful for a call and seemed in good spirits. He was there during and after and ended up leaving that school and dropping out of another. I really think the shooting started a downward spiral he hasn't been able to get himself out of yet. :(

Christine, I will pray for your sanity and courage and strength. At your/our age it's very rare and yet still very scary to have to have a biopsy of anything.

Hi Janine :)

Heading to bed early tonight. Long day.

I really hope it turns out to be nothing of concern. (I still like our old CW smilies better ;))

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I have officially survived observation! Somehow I only got 18.9 hours written down. I hope she don't count off for my 1.1 hour (we were supposed to have 20). We had to type 20 pages of notes about it. I got to the middle of page 21, which was nice.
I also got my summer missionary assignment. I am going to the southern part of Arizona (maybe they figured I coukd stand the heat ;)). J told me, "You have this all wrong. You're spending the winter in Reno and the summer in Arizona." Yep, very backwards. Especially since it was still snowing up until Tuesday (it has snowed here in May in years past I am told).
I am not sure exactly when I will be gone yet. Both Matt and my bosses hope it isn't too long.
Where in southern Arizona, PC? You can note me if you're willing to tell me but would rather not do it in forums. I have a friend who lives there and I'm wondering if you'll be close to her.
What were you being observed for?
