God Carries Us on His Heart

~And thou shalt make the breastplate. And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.
And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and jasper: they shall be set in gold in their enclosings. And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes~

A magnificent portrayal of the love of God, for His children we have in these verses.

The high priest, who is a figure in the old testament of our great high priest, Jesus, was to wear a breastplate while performing the office of high priest on behalf of the people. The breastplate was a breastplate of judgment containing twelve stones, which were actually brilliant jewels.

The twelve stones represented the twelve tribes of Israel. Each stone, which represented one of the tribes, had a name. That name was to be placed with the stone like the engravings of a signet. In Biblical times the engraving of a signet was well known. It meant a stamp of identification of ownership or the official engraving of the one who owned the ring placing His seal of approval upon a document. It was the identification of a king or the one who put his signature through the stamping of his ring onto that which he approved of.

How tender that the high priest, who represented Jesus, had a precious stone, each with its own name carried upon that breastplate of judgment! It represented Jesus carrying us upon His heart to the Father after our sins had been judged on the cross.

The breastplate means in the Hebrew, “shimmer”. How glorious it must have been with the precious jewels radiating their beauty, especially when the light shone on them. It was worn over the heart of the high priest. The heart representing the feelings or emotions, especially love, was the most precious place it could be. How close it was to Aaron’s heart when he went into the most Holy Place to minister on behalf of the Israeli people before God.

Jesus, as our great High Priest in the Heavens, wears a breastplate of love upon His heart. Upon His breastplate are beautiful, precious jewels. His children are those precious jewels, which He carries as close as possible. As we are carried upon His heart, He can hear our cries of pain and sorrow. He can feel our fears and doubts. And He can experience our peace and joy, our love and adoration that we have toward Him.

For the believer, we are forever a precious jewel, carried upon His heart. No one can separate us from His love. So close to Him we are, our heart and His beat together as one as we go before the Heavenly Father and He reminds the Father that He died for us so that we might live forever with Him.

I had a good excuse because for the longest time I couldn't access this site for some reason but now that I can you just can't get rid of me. I wish the earlier posters would come back too. (Sometimes folks get busy in the Summer. Maybe that's the reason?)

Really EVERYONE is more than welcome.

Back into His arms again...

Long was the errand,
Through the path of thorns.
Lacerations on the hem of my cloth,
And blisters on my feet,
Are silent evidence from the ordeal.

Yet, as I stand at the sacred gates,
Which open onto Your safe place,
I have no remnants of fear left.
As a red drop falls on me,
From the rugged cross,
I finally exhale,
And shout ‘Lord, I am back!’

As always, your welcome is warm,
You open Your arms wide,
And I fall into them.
How I have longed for your sweet whispers!
Your voice is music to my soul,
My heart is full of Joy,
I belong nowhere else,
And I am here to stay.

Dear Potirone:

Here is the poem I promised, Jesus' reply to you!

Come maiden! Lift thy lantern in the night
By narrow passage up lofty height
Through the forest and briar wood
Conceal thy beauty in cloak and hood
'Tis My castle I call thee to
There thy sweet Knight awaiteth true
Near the gate of Holy Desire
I await thy coming with Heart afire
To My door thy heart must lead
Other suitors in vain would grasp
Or hold thee fast within their clasp
O secret night sweet soul dare
Ascend the hill and climb the stairs
With every step close the distance
Between embracing and resistance
My feet stand marked with red
Dew drops rain down My thorn crowned head
My white robe weeps red in the night
And loves unrelenting bite
Bleeds My hands and Heart
And wounds My soul with fiery dart
Still I grasp the iron bars calling thee!
O joy! A light upon the hill I see
'Tis My love, fast approaching, her feet like wings
The wind lifts her cloak, beneath, her tresses spring
Standing on tip toe reaching to touch My face
A frail dove longing for Heaven's embrace
'Lovely one, what is thy request?
What is this sore unrest?
What hands have touched or soothed thy cries?
Here is thy comfort! It is I!

Hi kisstheson, no we had not met yet..but I'm very happy to have met you now!! I couldn't wait until tomorrow and so I read all the posts and I'm just speachless....my heart is just so overjoyed! and that poem..the first one you wrote
quote:

Jesus speaks:

Gold leaf pages unscathed by time
The story is yours, the story is Mine
Sunlit days and storms we have weathered
My love, we have written our story together
I covered you Bride, your love fresh born
With colors never faded bright as morn
Purple, sapphire, dipped in blood red
My cloak I gave on the day we were wed
Bride of My heart I am faithful and true
My love I have written on pages for you
And I have kept what you’ve written too
The seasons we shared, the moments dear
Love letters, poetry, and your stories here
I’ve pressed each page with a crimson rose
None can steal. No one can impose
Neither take what is shut with lock and key
The secrets whispered between you and Me
Open the book to the deepest center
Deep unto deep, together we enter!

That is one of the most beautiful poems I have read, I feel soo encouraged by the love you all have for Him! I had been feeling kind of melancholic these days while I was sick and to come back to these beautiful words!! Lord thank you for such a wonderful family! To see how they love you so just lits my heart!!
I have a few devotionals written down in my notebook that I would love to share I'll post those tomorrow.
Blessings to All!!
in Christ,
Rita

Jesus of Nazareth!
~Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth~

As we sang our songs of love and adoration to our King, the church was filling up. Towards the end of our worship in song, the high school students began streaming in as one and the last song we sang was one they wrote. Looking around, I saw our church fuller than in months.

A few months earlier our pastor dedicated a sermon to an elder who recently passed away. The elder apparently had quite an impact on our pastor. “Greg”, he often said, “it’s all about the Lord”.

I sat in wonder and joy yesterday as our pastor, over and over drove home the point that we must stay focused on Jesus. I wanted to stand up and clap in the middle of the message. Yes!, I thought over and over. YES, go for it Pastor, Greg! I could hardly believe what I was hearing.

How long I waited to hear those words thundering from a pulpit! How many years of longing to hear a message like that! The grace of God put that longing in my heart for the glory of God. Pastor preached similar messages in the past. Many times I heard him say that the first words that came forth during Peter’s message, on the day of Pentecost were “Jesus of Nazareth”. But never with such fire and power as this Sunday!

“It is alright to answer questions that people have, but always bring them back to Jesus. What are you going to do with Jesus?” This is the ultimate question. Do not let yourself get off tract. Answer the question, but bring the precious soul back to Jesus.

Oh, how pleased the Holy Spirit was yesterday! What joy it was for me to see the hungry, eager faces fixed on pastor as he brought us back to our first love, Jesus Christ. To see these life-changing, life-giving words being poured into the young people’s hearts! Oh, this is the message of revival! It is what the church in our day desperately needs to hear.

My treasured reader! I don’t know who most of you are. I am not a theologian. I am only one soul who was desperate and in despair. I am, to some of you, ignorant and unlearned. But I, by the grace of God only, know by experience and some learning that the message thundered from Pastor’s pulpit yesterday is true!

It truly is all about Jesus!

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Awww well thank you very much for such a warm welcome Virginia :D
Here is my devotional..I had been working on it for quite a while, so when I saw your "The Good Shepherd" devotional I thought it would complement very well with mine :D
So here goes...

"Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?"
"They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him." At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?"
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."
Jesus said to her, "Mary."
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!"
- John 20:10-16

The Shepherd emits a sound and his sheep will listen. Like music to their hearts is the voice of their Shepherd. They listen and after the day's work, follow Him home. It is so great the love the Shepherd has for his sheep that if one of his flock were to wander astray he would give his life for the lost sheep. And so we are sheeps in the flock of the Lord, and the Lord loved us so that he gave His life for our Salvation and so that not one of His sheep were to ever be lost again.

"He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice."
"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."
- John 10:4;14

I had written this at the beginning of my walk with the Lord and I was just so in love and happy that everything I read in the bible inspired me to love Him even more!

And yes Virginia it is all about Jesus!! He should be at the beginning of our sentences and at the very end of them as well!!

May the Lord Bless you all!
in Christ,
Rita M.

Giving my Brokenness to Jesus

Precious one,
The One I gave my last breath for,
How I have longed for you to see me!
How I have longed for you to hold onto me,
When I am surrounding you with my arms.

Lord,
How I have longed to meet with you!
The wicked for so long have oppressed me,
In my heart, are scars from the past,
And in my soul, weariness I cannot describe.

Beloved,
Treasure I cherish more than anything,
Our hearts beat in unison,
Every wound inflicted to you, is a thorn in my flesh.
Every arrow directed at you pierces my side.

Lord,
Where shall I find a place,
Safe from the evil ones and their attacks,
In my ears, their mockeries still resound,
On my skin, their cruelty has left its marks.

Cherished one,
Lover I long to comfort,
Bride I have sought for so long,
Lie in my arms and find the place,
On my heart rest your head,
For I will be your safe place.

Hey virginia,
what a joy to hear that happened........I long too to hear more about JESUS...Not the usual one way love He has shwon for us........but what we have in our hearts FOR HIM!! So many times we just leave Him hungry, and take Him for granted...How comforting it is to hear that the desire has been shared amonf many other believers, and that probably, in many hearts now, Love letters are being packaged with the address : TO JESUS MY PRECIOUS LOVER....

Thanks for sharing that virginia.....

Giving my Brokenness to Jesus

Precious one,
The One I gave my last breath for,
How I have longed for you to see me!
How I have longed for you to hold onto me,
When I am surrounding you with my arms.

Lord,
How I have longed to meet with you!
The wicked for so long have oppressed me,
In my heart, are scars from the past,
And in my soul, weariness I cannot describe.

Beloved,
Treasure I cherish more than anything,
Our hearts beat in unison,
Every wound inflicted to you, is a thorn in my flesh.
Every arrow directed at you pierces my side.

Lord,
Where shall I find a place,
Safe from the evil ones and their attacks,
In my ears, their mockeries still resound,
On my skin, their cruelty has left its marks.

Cherished one,
Lover I long to comfort,
Bride I have sought for so long,
Lie in my arms and find the place,
On my heart rest your head,
For I will be your safe place.

Absolutely beautiful dear one! This so clearly describes our Jesus and His desire to comfort and heal our wounds. Lets go to Him and submit to His compassion.

There is a sweet river rising in your soul. I pray that He will give you MORE!

Love it! Love it! Love it!

poem He's a wonder of wonders loving kind and ponders, all emotion, feeling never lonsome I adore you lord from my whole heart don't wanna replace this feeling with anything, no rollercoaster rides, cadalac escalade with big tires, no gold grills the only thing that shines is the light from my candle, i would trade anyday to walk in a pair of sandles. to walk the paths that my lord scroll to hear the words that my lord told to touch his garment or the bottom of his feet. to lean on my beloved brother breast lay in the spot that my dear lord rest. praise God for his only begotten son from the cradle to the grave

YESSSSSS!!!! You got it right! That's the true gospel! You love Jesus just for Him and not His gifts. That's where it's at. Thanks so much. Please share more!

Dear Potirone:

Here is the poem I promised, Jesus' reply to you!

Come maiden! Lift thy lantern in the night
By narrow passage up lofty height
Through the forest and briar wood
Conceal thy beauty in cloak and hood
'Tis My castle I call thee to
There thy sweet Knight awaiteth true
Near the gate of Holy Desire
I await thy coming with Heart afire
To My door thy heart must lead
Other suitors in vain would grasp
Or hold thee fast within their clasp
O secret night sweet soul dare
Ascend the hill and climb the stairs
With every step close the distance
Between embracing and resistance
My feet stand marked with red
Dew drops rain down My thorn crowned head
My white robe weeps red in the night
And loves unrelenting bite
Bleeds My hands and Heart
And wounds My soul with fiery dart
Still I grasp the iron bars calling thee!
O joy! A light upon the hill I see
'Tis My love, fast approaching, her feet like wings
The wind lifts her cloak, beneath, her tresses spring
Standing on tip toe reaching to touch My face
A frail dove longing for Heaven's embrace
'Lovely one, what is thy request?
What is this sore unrest?
What hands have touched or soothed thy cries?
Here is thy comfort! It is I!

Amy, what a beautiful poem..............the images are sooo perfect.......It is so beautiful!!!! Thanks for sharing it......

How true! What a feast for the soul, thinking about our Good shepherd.
