Anxiety
Had an anxiety attack today...but nothing that a good walk and a good talk with the Lord couldn't fix. I guess i'm stil having some trouble getting over a few issues in my life right now. Mom struck a chord this morning so it kind of stayed in the back of my mind until the chord was struck again in the afternoon. It sucks though, just when you feel like everything is going just like its supposed to, and you've forgiven everyone, there is always something...some sort of set back. But that is how it is. If I were the wisest and most perfect person ever I wouldn't need God, and that will never be!! thank God!! :D:D I like being the old Pop's daughter and friend :D. Depending on God is something I do very well!! You see i'm needy and the Lord provides just the love a needy person like me needs! Isn't God great??? Sometimes I don't understand His ways, but the fact that He's the man behind the ideas gives me comfort. Plus I started reading proverbs, what a first lesson!!

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline."
Proverbs 1:7

"Since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the LORD,

since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,

they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.

For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;

but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm."

Proverbs 1:29-33

Blessings to All!!

Precious sister Rita,

I'm so sorry about the anxiety attack. I am working through alot of issues in my life also.

But I have always believed that Jesus is seen the 'clearest thru the eyes of need.

I like the words from a song that says "but I"m lost without You" (Jesus) and "I'm desperate for You" (Jesus) Words from "This is the Air I Breathe"

You might want to take a peek at the end of Romans 8. Even the great apostle Paul had to be persuaded (or your version may say convinced) through various situations. You may be getting disappointed in yourself but as you probably realize Jesus is not
disappointed in you.
That is why it is called a "fight". I think it is the only fight we really are called to fight. Somewhere in The Bible (can't remember where) we are encouraged to "fight the good fight of faith". Jesus, Himself is called the Author and Finisher our faith.
(((Gentle hugs to you)))

hey rita, Are you feeling better today?

I am so sorry to hear about the attack....Yes , at times things are going well , and suddenly circumstances change and it seems we went two steps back...the set back is another test of faith...and as you said, yet another opportunity to totally surrender and let God work..

"So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will long be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

So sister, hang in there, and one thing is sure, Jesus loves YOU just as you are, "NO PERFECTION REQUIRED".......

He Wore the Crown of Thorns

~Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers plaited a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands~

Your Sacred Head was wounded for us; You felt the deadly pain. It was the end of Your sorrowful life, walking amongst Your beloved creation.

Your Sacred Head first lay in a feeding trough because there was no room for You in the inn. Your were born into a world that rejected You, yet You loved us until the end.

As You grew, You grew in wisdom. No evil of us filled Your thoughts. Perfectly Holy and harmless were You. And yet, You were hated by most.

Pure kindness and grace poured from Your mouth. Heavenly mysteries You unfolded to us. The common people heard you gladly. The sick, infirmed, brokenhearted and sinful flocked to You.

You taught us the truth about the Heavenly Father. You taught us about the birds the wildflowers and You had pity on the innocent animals. You loved the children. But the religious leaders wanted to kill you.

Tears flowed from your eyes at the sight of suffering. You wept over others grief, You wept over death, You wept over Your beloved Jerusalem. You are a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.

Towards the end of Your life, You presented Yourself as the King of Israel. As You came to the descent of the Mount of Olives the people cried ~Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord ~

But it was not to be; for now. They mocked You saying ~Hail, King of the Jews~ They put a purple robe on You. They smote You, they mocked You. They cruelly shoved down on Your regal Head a crown of thorns. Oh, such pain and anguish, shame and disgrace You suffered; for the lost, for those with no hope, for me!

As You hung upon the cross it is possible that the only thing you wore was that cruel, cruel crown of thorns. You bowed Your Head. Your arms were outstretched to all embracing all who would come to You. Your Head bent unto death under the weight of the Crown of thorns.

O Sacred Head, Now Wounded

O sacred Head, now wounded,
With grief and shame weighed down,
Now scornfully surrounded
With thorns Thine only crown.

Men mock and taunt and jeer Thee,
Thou noble countenance,
Though mighty worlds shall fear Thee
And flee before Thy glance.

How art thou pale with anguish,
With sore abuse and scorn!
How doth Thy visage languish
That once was bright as morn!

Now from Thy cheeks has vanished
Their color, once so fair;
From Thy red lips is banished
The splendor that was there.

Grim death, with cruel rigor,
Hath robbed Thee of Thy life;
Thus Thou has lost Thy vigor,
Thy strength, in this sad strife.

My burden in Thy Passion,
Lord, Thou hast borne for me,
For it was my transgression
Which brought this woe on Thee.

What language shall I borrow?
To thank Thee, dearest Friend,
For this, Thy dying sorrow,
Thy pity without end?

Oh, make me Thine forever!
And should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never,
Outlive my love for Thee.

Virginia,

I am in tears. O Scacred Head Sore wounded is my favorite Hymn Jesus suffered so much for us. Of course we all read about the Passion but He actually suffered throughout His entire life, every day making the choice to die to His own wants and needs for love of us.

Here is part of my story "The Prince Seeks A Bride," another meditation on His suffering:

"He never thought He would be afraid the kiss that would take His life. He had always welcomed it and spoke of it joyfully but when He approached the lips of Bride there was nothing at all beautiful about them. No appearance of rose color soft and welcoming. Instead they were dry and caked with blood. No smiling mouth, lips tightly shut, pulled down in bitterness and anger. Look again! Her mouth opened and foul stench invaded Jesus’ nostrils. He saw the effects of the poison, the rotting teeth and yellow coated tongue. He saw the bile, blood and blasphemies of a thousand generations. Her opened mouth became a filthy cup. And He knew. He understood He couldn’t give her a quick kiss on the mouth and be done with it. He would have to give her a deep, passionate kiss.

Passion Beyond Reason

Jesus shrank from Bride. “How can I?” He cried. Covering His eyes with His hands He turned quickly away. If He kept His promise He would have to drain that cup. There couldn’t be a drop of poison left or the effects of it would begin all over and He would have to come again and again. No. The cup had to be drained once and for all. Draining the cup also meant that the poison had to enter His body and He would become sin! (2 Cor. 5: 21) Loves purity tainted? His dearly love Father would have to look away.

Jesus fell to the ground as the horror of what He had promised to do swept over Him like a title wave. Separation from the Father? Father, if there is another way let this cup pass from Me! But there was no other way. He would have to drain that cup.

He saw her again. He remembered her when she was first created, the dignity and sacredness of her body, soul and spirit. He had made her a living soul! She loved Him freely too because He had given her free will. How He loved the he-she of His being! He couldn’t bear it. The separation had already been much too long. He had waited an eternity for this moment. To send her away, to let her remain trapped in her cancer ridden body nearly killed Him with sadness.

“My soul is exceedingly sorrowful even unto death!” (Matthew 26:18)

Yielding wasn’t easy. He again saw a parade of everything that would happen to Him. The crown of thorns would remove the effects of Bride’s unclean thoughts. Wounding His hands will restore holiness and goodness to her hands that had worked evil. A multitude of tortures including crucifixion, one of the most humiliating, painful deaths of His time weighed upon His trembling frame. Drops of blood began to form on His forehead. (Luke 22:44)

The Treasure Hidden in the Field And The Great “Yes!”

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. He finds one of great value. In his joy he sells everything he has and buys the pearl.” (The Gospels)

“For the joy set before Him Jesus endured the cross…” (The epistles)

The Prince is going to dive in head first into a sea of suffering. The Bride is worth it! He will give up everything to purchase His pearl for love pocesses Him. Jesus yields to the kiss,

A traitor’s kiss on His cheek.

“Yes!” resounds in His heart.

Before each kiss Jesus gives His “Yes!”

“Yes!” to her mocking, painful kisses.

“Yes!”

To His beard pulled out
To shame and spitting
To being blindfolded
To being punched and slapped
To prison
To words of abuse and blasphemy
To fatigue, hunger and thirst
To false accusations
To being dragged to four different trials
To nakedness
To scourging done by Romans exceeding the rule of thirty nine lashes when administered by Jews.
To the crown of thorns
To beatings on the head with a reed
To being marred more than any man
To the mocking purple robe
To the heavy cross
To each fall
To the stripping of his robe that had clung to His opened wounds
To the nail in His right hand.
To the nail in His left hand
To the nail in His right foot
To the nail in His left foot
To the jeering crowds
To the taunting thief
To the gambling and dividing of His garments
To the vinegar wine
To staying on the cross for six hours.

Amy, you describe His suffering so vividly. None of us can begin to understand the horrific things He went thru for us. All the Satanic forces were screaming in the darkness at Him.

The past few days, after being delivered from a habitual sin (thank you for your prayers!) I have been meditating on Psalm 51. And I have been in a true state of repentance.

After all these years of being saved I don't think I have ever had "Godly sorrow" over the effects of my sin.

Amy and others, my sin killed our Saviour - my sin brought all of that suffering to Him. Now it is no more the sins of the world but it was MY sin that He was crucified for.

When Jesus Calls for You

And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary, her sister, secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee (John 11:28).

Jesus did not forget Mary in this true story that begins in tragedy and ends revealing the glory of God.

Mary apparently was grieving alone over the recent death of her brother, Lazareth. Martha had gone to meet Jesus as He made His way towards the tragic scene of the death of their brother. But Mary stayed behind. We are not told why. We can only imagine what was going through her mind. She had a close relationship with Jesus and she knew that He had raised the dead in the past. But why Jesus had not come to help earlier to prevent the death of her brother caused her confusion and probably doubt whether He was as good, kind, and loving as she thought He was.

She could not have known that Jesus was carrying her close to His great heart of love as He made His way toward that scene of heartache and loss.

Mary had to wait for Him to come to her but as she waited and grieved God the Father and Jesus were probably talking about the scene to come and the resurrection of Lazareth from the dead that would turn her mourning into great joy.

Are you confused and hurt and perhaps disappointed at God for the circumstances that He has allowed in your life, dear one? Have you been waiting while Jesus is preparing some secret joy for you to come out of your hurt and pain?

Jesus did not forget Mary. While she was weeping and in despair over such sad circumstances in her life, Jesus was making His way toward her to prove once again to her that He was the answer to her grief, sorrow and for her every need.

And He is making His way to you, beloved and carrying you in His great heart of love as you perhaps weep at the circumstances He has allowed in your life.

He will come to you, He will call for you and He will turn your heartache into joy. If we are Christians, we are His bride and His chosen ones. He ultimately only brings goodness and loving-kindness into our lives.

Wait for Him, beloved. He is coming. He says “I will come again, and receive you unto myself.” Listen for His voice for someday soon He will call for you and your broken and frightened heart will be filled with joy.

I am the precious Rose, thou My love, art Mine.
Here within the Garden, I am the sacred Wine.
O see My Heart hath blossomed, My side-wound is the sign.
My wounds are full ready! Come My dove recline!
Look at My hands, behold how red the stain.
My wounded palms forever bear thy lovely name.
Multi layered, was ever a love so deep?
Receive My yielding! Yea, this Rose doth weep!

Oh, Comfort Your People

~And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon;
and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost,
that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought
in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.

A rare thing it is to have one’s name mentioned in Scripture. His name was Simeon and his brief story can unfold beautiful mysteries about God’s ways with His people.~

The name Simeon means “hearkening” so we are safe to conclude that He was a man who listened, for during Biblical days a person’s name was a reflection of their character. He was devout and he was waiting for the consolation of Israel. The consolation of Israel was the Messiah to come.

It was a dark time in Israel during the birth of Jesus. For an unknown reason, Simeon was troubled or frightened because after He recognized the Lord’s Christ he told God that he was ready to die in peace. He saw and recognized that the Deliverer, Comforter, our Peace had come as promised.

Beloved, have we seen our Deliverance, our Saviour, our Freedom from death, pain and fear? Do we experience the peace of God? Have we seen, with the eyes of trust, the goodness, mercy and compassion of God in the Person of Jesus Christ? Oh, His arms are outstretched to us!

What makes Simeon, precious to me was His obvious relationship with God. From our short glimpse of him, we know he had a holy but healthy fear of God. He had obviously fled for refuge from his fears into the arms of God and poured out his heart to him. This we know because God comforted him by promising him that he would not die before he saw the face of God in the person of Jesus Christ. Hence, he was looking for Him, our Peace.

Have we cried out to Jesus in our distress? God kept His word to Simeon and He will keep His word, His promises to us. He is completely trustworthy. All that we need to do is cry out to Him and flee to Him for refuge, courage and strength. He will be our Peace. He will be our Comfort.

~Comfort ye, comfort ye, my people saith you God~

Where are They?

Where are My children, You cry, where is My bride?
Am I not enough for them, oh, why do they hide?

Not satisfied with My beauty, not satisfied with Me,
Perhaps they have forgotten, for them I hung on the tree.

Can they really know Me, and still not abide?
My Father’s beauty and Mine shall draw them aside.

For when they behold Me, their face turned to Mine,
You are enough they will say as they abide my pierced side.

As we behold Him, more beautiful He does become,
Oh, child of Mine gaze on Me, from Me do not run.

For then My longing for you and your beauty to Me,
Will become your longing for more beauty of Me to thee.

~There I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by My glory….And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God~
Exodus 29:43,45

For many days the beautiful words translated from the old German of Ter Steegen have been in my heart: (Amy Carmichael)

Am I not enough, Mine own? Enough,
Mine own, for thee?

All shalt thou find at last,
Only in Me.
Am I not enough Mine own? I, for ever
and alone, I needing thee?

Hi everyone,

I have not been posting lately, and mostly read the encouraging verses....it was just a little difficult, and things are getting better now...

thanks beloved and amy for sharing those beautiful writings with us.... i am still going through slowly.....(have to savor every single word )

Here is one i wrote yesterday, i was freed from the shame that kept me for long captive, and i want ot share it here with you...

When we feel lonely and depressed, we can’t seem to find the answer, we should not rely on ourselves…Turning to Jesus and crying out for help is always the best thing to do…..When we are in the dark pit, our vision is often blurred….But in the end, one thing is true and real: Only Jesus can be the rock….and turning to Him is always the solution. I wrote this poem yesterday, while reading the psalms….the words in italics are verses 4,5,6 and 10, respectively, from psalm 143….Beloved, if you are in a dark pit right now, do not lose hope and always remember Jesus is by your side…You are so precious to Him, and the difficult circumstances presently in your life will change…He might not take the problem away , but he will provide the strength to go through it…

I am losing all hope;

I am paralyzed with fear.’

Lord, I am frightened as I face this mountain.

Times and again, I have closed my eyes,

Hoping you’d in someway take it away.

Yet it still stands before me,

And I realize I must climb it.

‘I remember the days of old,

I ponder all your great works’

Lord we have been here before,

Braving the burning sun in the desert,

The threatening waves of a tumultuous sea,

The biting coldness of a snow storm,

You always holding my hand,

You always taking the pain and protecting me,

And always You have been my fresh oasis,

My safe haven,

My warm refuge.

‘I lift my hands to you in prayer.

I thirst for You as parched land thirsts for rain’

Only You can take me through this trial.

Only Your hand can keep me steady.

Only Your whispers can encourage me.

Only You can be my rock.

‘Teach me to do Your will,

For You are my God.

May Your graciosu spirit lead me forward’

Love and blessings

PASSION'S FLAME (CHRIST'S PASSION)

You are still you, I am still me.
Darkness has found the Light.
The differance is, my Lord,
is that now I can see!

The words do not matter,
they were all apart of the games we played.
Hearys have been touched,
so it wasn/t about what we say.

You are my Friend
so I really don't care
about what they said or what wasn't said.
Because, now, You are the Light I share.

So, this is my song.
Go ahead, write your own words.
Mine are already etched on my heart,
I know who I am but are you sure?

Love no knows measure or depth.
It's passion burn like blazing fire.
Try to contain that flame,
see what is left!

A heart of mercy.
Have you ever met anyone like Me?
The freshness of the morning dew,
and all along I was just waiting!

Virginia, Christelle, Rebecca,

I read your posts and all three made me cry. There is so much of His heart here in what you have written. Don't you praise Him for His grace, patience and faithfulness? What would we do without His strength? I suppose that in the darkness His visage is all the more beautiful!

I would like to thank Him for healing Virginia and for helping you in your trials dear Christelle. And Rebecca, the Passion of Jesus is a glorious subject.

Thank you all!

Amy

Ah, yes, my precious sister:

The Thorn

I stood a mendicant (beggar) of God before His royal throne
And begged Him for a priceless gift, which I could call my own.
I took the gift from out His hand, but as I would depart
I cried, "But Lord, this is a thorn and it has pierced my heart.
This is a strange, a hurtful gift that Thou hast given me".

He said, "My child, I give good gifts and give my best to thee."
I took it home and though at first the cruel thorn hurt sore;
As long years passed I learned at last to love it more and more.
I learned He never gives a thorn without this added grace.
He takes the thorn to pin aside the veil which hides His face.
Author unknown…
