psalm103 -> RE: Talk to Your Future Wife/Husband (WARNING: Powerful, God-led Post) (6/11/2006 6:06:54 PM)

I'd rather post my response to this lovely question before reading what everyone else has said so as not to influence! How exciting of a question this is.

Since I was a little girl I've dreamed about looking into your eyes and being held by your strong arms. I've longed to hear your voice and smell your skin and meet those you love. I want to pray with you and minister to you and be ministered to by you. I will apply the blood of Jesus to you daily; and watch you as you sleep. I will support your dreams, carry your burdens, lift you up, adore you, be your girl. You are my best gift ever from Jesus & you are burned into my heart and soul already, I am ready for you and I need you. I wonder what Jesus is accomplishing in each of us to prepare us for marriage and together to put 10 000 to flight, before our meeting. I wonder where we will be in our lives when we meet. I wonder, simply, where it will be! I wonder what Jesus will accomplish through us together as a team. I want to have your baby and raise it together to be a mighty woman or man of God. I want to do simple things with you like buy peaches at a market and take a walk in the sunshine, but with you, because it is you, it will be great joy for me. & I hope and pray to bring you great joy. Little things like to find out what time you like to wake up in the morning, to find out if you have any quirks, to spend our lifetimes learning and being students of one another.
Already I adore you, already I pray over you, already you are mine, my beloved.

Well what I've always dreamed of is this: I would cup his face with my hands and look into his eyes and say "You have no idea how I've wished and dreamed and prayed for this moment to happen. I have saved myself through all of these years so that I can fully give myself to you and we could truly be one flesh. I feel so blessed to know that you are the man God has chosen to be mine and to be the father of our children. And nothing would give more joy than to be the Godly wife God has appointed me to be for you. I promise to love you with all of my heart, to be true to you and to be with you through thick and thin." And then I'd hug him! [:D][:D] I can't wait till that day comes!! God willingly there is a man out there waiting for me as well.

I love this thread!! Bless you all!

What, if God gave you the chance, what would you tell your future husband or wife, if you believe that you are to marry?

Ok, here's what I'd say:

I have waited my entire life for you, I have saved up blessings for you. I have been through many, many fiery trials for you. Knowing this, alone, I know that you will be a blessing! I will love you so deep and true, my best friend, my kinswoman, my spouse!

If God knew us before we were formed, I am sure it is possible we knew each other then! The choices we made, and God's gentle placement with our parents, in this time and He is leading us together!

God showed me Psalm 128 to challenge my heart to believe. He showed me Ruth 3:7 in a dream, to answer my prayer about how I would know I found you.

"... she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down."

You will come when I am asleep, not aware. You will do that which is unseemly and quite bold, you will come to me and you will uncover my feet... and lay down at them. You will show your vulnerability, and your humbleness in one move..

I pray for you all the time. I have at times, thought I found you.. but they were imposters seeking thier own ways and glories. You, my love, seek God's glory, and you will stop at nothing to find me so that you and I will glorify OUR Father with every aspect of our meeting and our lives together.

So, come now, and let us knit our hearts, our souls, and our flesh together so that the future generations will know that God has blessed our union, and that God truly is holy, merciful, fierce, wild, and sovreign! They will want to come and taste of His goodness, as we have found!

Wow! That's powerful Sc1! Thanks for sharing that.

I was born of the fire of God for you and like my Father, I'm an all consuming fire!
You must be a passionate man because my passion matches yours, you are my
sweet, sweet song that I have sang and patiently waited for and God has told me
that you are a man after His own heart so I give myself to you and submit to
your authority in Christ for His word says,"Blessed is the man who comes in the
name of the Lord".

There is some truth to that. Not only that... but Death and life are in the power of the tongue - choose this day life!

I've seen words materialize... Jesus said we'll be held accountable for every careless word we speak... it's no wonder some of us don't see the power of God at work through us, it's God's grace to the world... especially when we can be immature with our hearts and mouths!

Guard your heart for out of it flows the wellspring of life!

Believing that words have power and that God rewards faith is not the same as believing in the Word of Faith movement. However, there is a One Stop thread for that subject, and any discussion of the false doctrine of WOF teachers belongs there.

I wondered aloud at work tonight if my future wife was hearing the storm that was going on outside and thinking it as romantic as I.

A co-worker said, "If she's smart, she's hiding away from the storm."

Hehhe.

Ditto for me - no words.

I'd cry, then I'd pinch him, then I'd crack up laughing and cry at the same time, then I'd punch him, and crack up again and then I'd really cry. And it would come like a flood breaking a dam. All the tears that I held back so as not to fall apart, coz I was the stronger one, the shoulder others would cry on. The tears only God saw. The tears that spoke the heartache I could never put into words to pray - and once those were emptied - the tears of unspeakable joy!! [:D]

This is a great thread.

"First off, thanks for sticking with God.

I haven't been perfect, and never will be. I hope that you'll take me as I am, despite my flaws, despite my past mistakes, and are looking forward to a journey.

I hope that you will love me in a way that doesn't afford me the choice of staying the same. With you, I want our lives to be ever upward, ever onward, and toward God.

I pray that I would encourage and lift you in a way that brings out the best in you, and that the way I do so is Spirit-led.

Finally, thank you for being who you are. Let's do this thing called life together, so that we can each be the best we can be."

Perhaps something like that. Note that I may rework this.

i am truly impressed with many of the things that were said in this thread. There are not many people who would lay themselves out so willingly for whomever the Lord brought to them. As for me, i'm not completely sure as to what i would say to my future husband. Knowing myself i would be a little teary when the time came to speak those words. All i could really do is vow to be his best friend, his help mate and heart mate. Promise him that i will not put him on a pedestal, but instead be next to him as we walk down the path God lays out for us. Mostly though, i would thank my Father for bringing my Bashert to me, and for developing his and my heart for each other.

Elena1030 -> wow (6/22/2006 12:16:55 AM)

Aragorns do exist... :o)

Across deserts and over mountains
you have walked---
at times you only crawled---
believing...knowing that the Living Water was at hand.
And indeed you found Him.
He made rivers in the dry places of your life.
And a new spring began.

Now a tree grows... it is He who is Life itself.
And Love has grafted you into Himself.
And I am there too.
You now have seen me, and you rejoice.
And your rejoicing is mine.

So behold this season of flowering...
behold this new thing He is doing.
It is He in us bringing us together
for a new growing, a new knowing,
signaling that bright day in the future,
the day we hope toward,
the day of the return of the King.

Let us await Him together
and spread the news that He is coming again!
Let us be one---to illuminate the Truth,
to speak good news to the poor,
to set aright the hearts that are broken,
to announce freedom to the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners...
"to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness
instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise
instead of despair"*
so that "they will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD
for the display of His splendor."*

Sc1t0r -> RE: Talk to Your Future Wife/Husband (WARNING: Powerful, God-led Post) (6/22/2006 12:25:33 AM)

I pray that you are doing well, my future wife... yet, I now pray that God keeps me having faith that you even exist. For I do not SEE anything in sight that says you are near. There is nothing in this world for me, nothing at all....

If only what's done for Christ will last, then only those times I led or attempted to lead others to Christ, will matter... therefore, is it true that my search for you is in vain?

What is the point of marriage if it's not done for Christ? What is the point of my desire for you if I will never have that fulfilled?

Why won't you hurry up and be led by God to me? How much longer will my faith last, that you even exist.. please, help me make Psalm 128 a fulfilled promise that God gave me...
