Hi, John, Trish, Pammy and Dena, Thanks for asking: Monday was just fine, John! Doin' fine, Pam! Trish, so glad things are going well! PTL! Dena is up bright and early from her trip. I know, because you're in my time zone at present! Today I'm going to a breakfast with my mission and Gleanings of YWAM, and then it's from there to work. So how are you all doing? What's happening around you way?

Great, Dena! Well, now you are all set for July 4. All right! Oh dear, I haven't exercised at all today, not even a walk, and I had a big breakfast, Spanish omelet, potatoes and toast. Shirley from Gleanings gave the devotional and it fit right in with where I've been reading in Romans 3 and the verse Trish gave in the chat thread today! God has been clearly speaking to me about "works" not being necessary for righteousness because I fall into the trap of thinking I have to do this and that, when all I have to do is what He says! Dena advised me to not worry about the things I can't do, just to concentrate on the things I can do, that God has fitted me to do, or words to that effect. And since then God has been working in me on this. He's not done yet--three Words from Him today already! I love it!

Joy, I agree with whoever said to you to do just what you can do. You can't do anything about whatever you can't do. God understands and He knew before time. He'll take care of it. Maybe some things are for others anyway. If it's something that you were supposed to do? Then again, God understands.

Thank you so much for the encouragement, Trish! I can't tell you how I just gulped down Dena's words like a thirsty athlete and from then on God has been speaking to me in so many ways. He told me to read Romans and it's all there, and I'm soaking it up. I'm going through the verses slowly. Your words here and her words were from God straight to my heart. Your verse in chat recently also summarized it well. He's coming at me everywhere, and I welcome it! What a loving Father we have! Please pray: I'd like to ask everyone's prayers for a family in Guatemala from one of our missions churches there. Julia and her son-in-law had taken her grandchild to the hospital. In the parking lot as they got in the van to leave, they were shot at and the son-in-law was killed. The baby is safe. One bullet went through Julia's lung, deflected off her spine and damaged her kidney. She has had surgery. They don't know yet if she is going to make it. It appears that Julia is known in a lot of our churches there and is loved so much, something like a Dorcas to them. We do not know the circumstances that brought about this shooting. Please pray for Julia and her family and friends as the Lord leads you.

Trish, God sure used you! Do you find that many times you or others may say or do something and don't realize the far-reaching effect of it? Just like Trish wrote a paragraph and Dena said those words. God uses us to start His work and His gifts are so beautifully exhibited. It's really about being available for His use. What's your take on that, my friends?

Hi, John & Trish! Thanks for coming by! Doin' fine. How are you guys? Well, Brendalee is s'posed to be coming by this week, so I'll post a little bit of the story again. A few weeks after the prayer, Scripture, and further descriptions about my envisioned future spouse, we at the mission where I worked heard some new missionaries were coming to work with us. They had just finished training and deputation and had been appointed. There were two men on the team. We got their prayer cards and one of them had bright eyes and also he had black hair. I got Leonard's card in one of the first devo times after the cards arrived, and a bunch of times after that. And each time I would look at it and think, "Hmmm, I wonder." Very spiritual, huh. One of the people with whom I worked had met him, but she was looking out for the other guy who was coming as she had received a word in her ear from someone at the mission HQ. We knew the day they were coming but not the time. We came from all directions (it was a fairly big mission house) to the hallway and waited for them to come through the kitchen door as they had come in the back way. They came and smiled and we all smiled and then it was introductions, but not before I had taken one look at this black-haired guy and said immediately and emphatically to the young woman I worked with,"Wow, he's got black hair and he's not too tall!" and she looked at me all funny like. As we were all introducing ourselves, the other guy came to me, anxious to meet as he thought I was the other girl because I had long hair. He had been tipped off about her! As soon as I told him my name he turned around quick and hurried to the other one. I just had to laugh. LOL. Well, that was Leonard's and my first time to meet, and we both remember that we were there, but don't remember the actual introduction.

Hi John! Fine! Well I got a surprise--someone who had bought a ticket to a women's conference for Sat. had to step down. She was going with two others and asked them to give it away. So they invited me to go. I'd really wanted to go there, too! Isn't that really cool of the Lord? And we get to stay overnight! The speakers are Luci Swindoll, Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Thelma Wells and Sheila Walsh. Max Lucado will be there (brave man) and Avalon (two more brave men in the mix). Tammy Trent and Donna VanLiere will also be there. I've already got my bag packed. I'm sorry the other lady had to step down, but I hope she's blessed that she blessed me so much. So, folk, I might see some of you in the morning, but come 4:00 p.m. we'll be leaving and won't be back till Sat. evening. So when you don't see me around, you'll know why.

Hi again, Pammy and Trish, I hope you do both get to go to some women's conferences. This is my first ever! So I hope you don't have to wait as long! But it worth the wait, I'm sure. Has WOF ever been to HI, Trishy? Pammy, I used to get a radio station from Hilversum, years ago. Now in recent years I've met two people from Hilversum, and one is my daughter's s-i-l. Where are you in the N'lands? Anywhere near the Hoek?
