Anything that I do is the more spiritual choice, so I would suggest that y'all log in the same way I do.

Is that through CW or CW+?

Is it true the annual cost for Windex and Bounty paper towels for the Crystal Cathedral is $1,894,032.56?

SpongeBlog, please, please tell me that isn't a true article!

No, it's not true. The truth is they've been using Brawny paper towels since 1979.

I just saw the movie The Birds, and then in my devotions I read this verse- Rev 18:2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

And then I remembered that sometimes when people know something, they say "A little bird told me" so I cross-referenced birds and found this verse- Ecc 10:20 Curse not the king, no not in thy thought; and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber: for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.

I think birds are demonic creatures sent by Satan to spy on us and poop on our cars to make us mad. Has anyone else realized this, or am I the only one who understand The Truth About Birds???

LOL!

I didn't mean to sneak in here, but since I just watched The Birds today I had to laugh at this one.

Since I spent about 1.5 to 2 hours today focused on birds, does this mean that I'm a bird worshipper?

I've read all of this thread and my sides are splitting with laughter! Here's my contribution:

Morality & Ethics Folder:

I've read in the Gospels that Jesus rose up early to pray in the morning. David also did this I think. There is a song that goes, "Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray?" I think that I should pray when I first get up in the morning. The problem is, every morning I have to answer nature's call before I can pray because it takes me 20 minutes or more to do my devotions and I can't wait that long. Am I sinning when I do this?

(Edited from original version because I finished reading this thread and found that what I posted before was similar to one posted here.)

Absolutely.

But the way around that is to answer the call, go back to bed and then get up and do your devotionals.

I will agree with Dave that it is sinful. However, I disagree with his solution. The only righteous solution is to make you water closet also your prayer closet.

The real problem is when it takes 20 minutes to answer nature's call and leaves no time for devotions.

a while back during my morning devotion, I was reading the proverb for the day, and it happened to be that "perfect wife" chapter, yes Proverbs 31. I normally skip this proverb because I will never be a wife. But I thought what the heck, and started to read and to my shock I read "give strong drink to him who is depressed, that he may forget his troubles." Immediately the Spirit of God hit me like a 18 wheeler going 70 down I-10, I felt the strong calling of the Lord to start a bar and call it "God's Rest For The Weary" and put this scripture on the sign. AS you know, when we are called there is no saying "no" to God. I looked in my "The key to Guidance" book and it told me the key principle is that what we believe He is leading us to do must lineup with scripture, giving the example of how people claim "God told them to divorce their husband" which contradict the bible. Well, I then knew I had nothing to worry about because God spoke right after reading a passage in perfect harmony with my calling.
All this to say, I am apart of the First baptist church in New Orleans and I already managed the coffee bar in the fellowship hall before and after church. I knew the callings of God cost us something, and boy did it ever, I had to get a liquor license and by the sign and equipment and whiskey, liquor and beer, and finally I had it all and started to convert the coffee bar into "God's rest for the weary." And my pastor walked in, and with a shocked look at me for two minutes and then tried to loose his salvation. The pastor screaming demanded that I leave the church and never return. I was devastated.
My questions are these, should I do what God told me to keep the bar in the church even in light of the opposition, should I submit to the pastors authority or Gods? Or could this be a sign that God wants me to move the bar to Bourbon St?

For the sake of our dear pastorial brother stop playing Roger Miller's 'Chug-a-lug' in the background and rename your ministry '1 Timothy 5:23 Ministries'.

I've learned from reading these forums that the word 'wine' in the Bible is so in dispute that you can continue to serve whiskey with no problem.

Unfortunately, we have to make these kinds of compromises so we don't offend a weaker brother for whom Christ died. (insert smiley rolling his eyes here).

Folder: Christian Doctrine (or FAQ)

I was hopping and skipping through the back yard yesterday, full of the joy of the Holy Spirit, when I tripped and skinned both knees on the hard soil. Is that what it means when the Bible says "to go the way of all the earth"?

How did Joshua and David both know they were going to do that before it happened? Were they prophets?

Then, after that, I decided I'd better put on all the armor of God before I do that again. So I went into my room and meditated on the Ephesians passages about putting on the full armor of God.

When I got done I promptly fell asleep in the chair I was sitting in. Now Paul says after having done all that to 'stand'. Since I continued sitting down after putting on the armor does it still count, or do I need to do it all over again?

The Bible: If God's Word says to "live as you are called", does this mean that if I'm called to live on a starship, should I try to convert all the Klingons, Vulcans, Romelons and other aliens that the crew comes in contact with?

Yes. Try to convert them. Then we can have the First Church of Romulus, the Chruch of the Klingons, etc. Unfortunately, knowing how churches tend to divide over minor issues, this could lead to a Klingon Civil War.

Bible folder:

I believe we all should give up our favorite translation of the bible, learn Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic and go back and read the original writings just like John who founded the Baptist church. Perhaps the Pope could help with this since those guys are more historically minded. That's it! let's elect a Baptist Pope and put him in charge of Christianity. I think also it might be good to revive the Crusades and clean up the middle east. After we get done with the Moslems we can go to work on those pesky Jews who started all this. No wait, maybe we should start with the Democrats first.

Yours in Christ,
Ross

Michael Savage!!!???!!! egads, he comes on the radio and he drives me nuts! I'd rather try to figure out what Rap "singers" are saying than try to figure out Savage's ramblings.

But then again, how often do we listen to our leaders? After all, a baptist pope just has to sound like he knows what he is talking about.

Rosswell, if you look at some of the other threads I post in you'd guess I was not upset. Weeellll, Mike Savage is a bit much. He likes to amuse himself alot. I do think that the idea of a Baptist Pope is pretty darn clever.

For the Bible folder:

Matthew 7:6 says "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throuw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces." Does this mean that if my super-friendly dog were to get hold of a Bible, she would turn into a vicious killing machine?
