I think I will go to the shelter in the AM and see if they have any puppies or kittens. I told hubby that I wanted one to take with me to AZ... keep me company.

You'll have to share some pics, if you adopt one of course.

I hope so too. You don't need that kind of nonsense.

For dinner we had steak on the grill and some left over shredded lettuce from when I had tacos the other day, and plums. One of the first things they said when they sat down was "no potatoes?"

Thanks Kath. I know it will be long process so I'm still stuck here for a while, but I keep telling myself that each step is one step closer to something new. I did get a few apologies today (not that this changed the pile of garbage I need to do now) and my other co-workers are being very supportive. They know how laid back I am, so when I get angry, it's really bad... When my boss told me what was going on, he was really apologetic. I think he thought when he told me, I'd walk out or go back to my office to type up my resignation. I'd never do that, but I did tell my co-workers that certain folks better steer clear of my office for a while...

Phosy -- have you ever considered taking some online courses in Criminal Justice? Just curious ... it might help you along your chosen path. I get ads all the time about various online courses... not sure why they would zero in on me for Criminal justice... I've never expressed an interest that I'm aware of.

I actually took a criminal justice class in college as well as numerous sociology classes & psych classes which will all help. Eventually I do want to take some online classes, but I don't really have the time or money to do that right now. I have a 4 year college degree (not in anything related to criminal justice) and that will actually really be a big plus in getting hired somewhere.

My work day is going somewhat better today but I'm still very, very ready for the weekend. My desk looks like a tornado hit it and I am so far behind... And there are still "issues" that I'm trying to handle...

Plus, I haven't slept well the last few nights (big surprise!) so I'm beat.

As someone who rarely has a day she would call a bad day, this week has been quite memorable...

It's Friday and I only have to survive 4 more hours before I can go home and pretend this week didn't happen...

In other news, the gal who does out Friday deposit (different from our Monday depositer) is also sick so guess who will spend half of today doing that?

Thanks all. One of our volunteers used to work my my boss at one of his previous jobs. She finally went and talked to our pastor about it because she said even back then he was abusive to the ladies on his staff and didn't know what he was doing.

He hasn't changed.

Honestly, I could deal with that. However, because of my position, I get stuck in the middle of all the garbage and have to listen to it all day long (his office is next to mine). Our executive pastor even shared with me that he had no idea how I could do it. He said he wouldn't have been able to. I guess that helps to know that people see it and admire how I am handling it.

Unfortunately, almost everyone knows what needs to happen except for the one or two who can make it happen (well, I take that back - they know what needs to happen but they don't have the backbone to do it ). I probably shouldn't be venting here, but this has been an awful week and I've simply reached my limit of garbage. And sadly, I've only shared the tip of the iceberg. The entire situation is much worse.

The bummer is that getting into law enforcement is a very long process and job stability is very important (ie - quitting to do a temporary job is not an option).

Ok... Let me get a visual. He's the executive pastor. And he said that he couldn't handle what you have to deal with. So he knows there's a problem, but he's not doing anything?

BTW, I'm good for venting...so if you wanna, just gimme a call. I'll PM my number if'n ya wanna.

He can't do anything. If he had the authority - trust me - my boss would be gone. Long gone. But, the executive pastor is not the boss - the Lead Pastor (don't ask me to explain ) is. However, my boss got the board to change it so he (the manager) reported to the board, not the Lead Pastor. So now, not even the Lead Pastor (Senior Pastor) can fire him. At least half the board knows what's going on, but the other half needs to know.

Oh, and did I share that the manager threatened me with my job last year for daring to answer a question for a board member (and it wasn't anything bad either). Apparently he thinks ONLY he should talk to the board. Can anyone say: recipe for disaster?

Yeah. It's a huge mess.

Now you all know why I make occasional gripes about my job.

Thanks dude. I really mean it. I would be doing this anyway even if the situation was good because I am ready for a change, but it takes on a new urgency.

OK... Going to think happy thoughts now. I have an entire weekend to enjoy not being at the office and I'm going to relish every minute of it.

Phosy, when you finally have a permanent job to go to, can you tell any of the clueless ones what is going on? On your way out the door, so there can be no reprisals?
