Yep. In a paramilitary environment - they always look at the shoes! When you get to the academy you'll have uniform inspections and they'll expect shiny shoes.

I better start training myself now... I really could care less about my shoes or anyone else's... That could be a problem!

(((((Mac))))) How are you doing?

Thanks for the hug! I'm okay. . .

When I was in the academy I was inspected by the governor. I was standing at attention and he started talking to me, and I was thinking inside my head - I'm at attention and I'm not supposed to talk to you, don't you know that?! I don't remember what I said to him, but I've always remembered meeting him, and not being able to say what I was thinking.

Wonder what he was thinking when you didn't respond back? Maybe someone had to "inform" him later what the problem was...

And I'm still praying for you!

Thanks! I'm trying to decide if I should do the police testing in a few weeks. It is the only testing the agency has scheduled on my side of the state for the next several months. I had planned on it, but I didn't expect to be #1 on the list so quickly for corrections. I guess it can't hurt (well, aside from the pocketbook )...

If you can afford it, I say do it. The more you test the easier it gets. And you never know when one agency might suddenly have a hiring freeze. It could happen in the middle of a background investigation. The hiring process is sooooooooooo long for these types of jobs. There's a lot of government "bureaurcracy" involved. Hopefully, in your case, things will go quickly!

That's what I'm thinking. Plus, you never know what will happen as my last experience will testify too. In one day I went from: "We're so impressed with you" to "We won't give you the time of day"... Of course, I've heard better things about this department and have been much more impressed with their admin side so far. They seem very on the ball and strong in the communication department. I can't say that about the other department I applied with last year...

Phosy, it is my prayer that the God of peace keep you throughout the rest of the time until you start your new job in the criminal justice field. And that the wait isn't very long.

ETA: And also that He keeps you after you start the new job, but it seems more needed now.

If you all think about it, please pray for me. God knows the details.

And thank you for your hugs and support. I really needed it today.
