We have tickets for Thursday. We can't wait to see the reunion of Mark, Tim & Jay. I'm looking forward to seeing the "new" GC live, too.

We're going to try to go Saturday as well.

Wish we could go to their homecomeing this weekend, but we've got a lot of other stuff going this week. It's also hard to sit outside in the heat. We've tried it and it don't work to well for us. Sure do wish they would take homecoming back inside.

I'm not wild about outside either but I'm making an exception for this concert!!!!

Believe it or not in Gadsden there is usually a breeze blowing in the Glencoe area, where the Gold City homecoming is going to be. Also in the evening around the time the concerts start the temperature is usually fairly decent.

Keep waiting for Dinana to make a post in the concert thread with photos and videos. Don't know where she got off to today. Probably a concert. She might have followed Gold City up the road or went with Triumphant.
And it was a joy to mess with you Ed last night. Hope you're stuffed.

I was, but since it is now Tuesday morning, I am ok.

We went to the GC HC last night in Glencoe, AL. One note: you want to sit directly in front of the stage or to the right of the stage (your right when facing the stage). We were blinded by the sun for the first 45 minutes.

MTT started the concert and did not get to sing long enough, IMO. I guess I'll have to wait till next month at their HC...

The "new" GC is fabulous!!! They sang most of the songs on their new CD, which we bought, which is also fabulous. I particularly liked "What Children Believe".

The "old" GC was the highlight for me. Tim Riley, Mark Trammell, Jonathon Wilburn & Jay Parrack - they showed out...

Really funny: Jonathon was picking at Mark about having less hair in front than the last time he saw him, and Tim remarked that Mark needs to go see his [Tim's] hairdresser - I was rolling!

We're going back Saturday for more GC + the Kingmen.

Cool... it would be neat if they could get both sets of Gold City to dual on stage!! That would be worth it!

I wish we had gotten a chance to meet. We definitely have to do that at the MTT homecoming. Jonathan said he would be there as well so I'm looking forward to seeng (and who knows maybe hearing) him again as well.

I was told by a reliable source that next year will be 'unreal' there are some tremendous things planned - maybe they have that in mind!

Hi DeeAnn,

I thought about you Thursday night, but there were so many people around the product tables...

Maybe at the MTT HC we can meet in the sanctuary at a particular spot.

Sounds good, also, any of the MTT or Perrys or Danny Jones could point us out! If you saw the baby back at the product tables at the GC homecoming that everyone kept passing around, that was baby Erin, and either Alicia or I or both were with her!

I did see people crowded around a stroller at one point - was that y'all? I got into a deep discussion with Justin at the MTT table and lost track of what was going on around me. Plus, there were so many people crowding around the table at that time, I finally got pushed out and then the intermission was over.

A former traveling buddy of mine is about to start playing drums for Gold City. Looks like they're gonna try it with a live band again. I think that's gonna be a HUGE plus for them. I didn't think they'd really do so well without Jonathan Wilburn, but Bruce is doing a mighty fine job. Now, having successfully filled that void, it appears like they'll be reintroducing the excitement of live music!! Hopefully we'll see a formal announcement very soon. Rock on, GC!

No. While I'm fairly sure that this was in the works that far back, I really doubt they were even 100% sure of who they would hire. I can't wait for them to make and announcement, and then for their debut. Glad to see Kevin back playing on the road, too. He's a great guy! I know he's worked at Goldmine studio some, but IMHO, he's better on stage. Great personality, too.

If the bass player is indeed gonna be who Kevin mentioned, he will be someone some of you are familiar with, too. I hope is OK to say that that way. I'm not sure yet, if it's OK to say who it is. Kevin told a bunch of us all about this Saturday Night in Gainesville, so it's not a rumor. Just not sure if the bass player is ready to be announced publicly yet.

Since we're talking about lineup changes, additions, ect., I was wondering how many of you heard Gold City when Dan Keeton filled in after Jay Parrack left and Steve Ladd joined? What did you think of their sound during that time ?(was it REALLY 4 years ago????????? Time sure flies.)

That must have been really interesting--he's not a GC-style tenor.
