I hosted the guys last night and from the feedback I received following the concert, Gold City did an outstanding job. From the opening song they had the crowd, ( and we were sold out) in the palm of their hands. Their program was anointed with Gods presence throughout. I just got Moment of Truth and like it very much...so for what it is worth...Southern Indiana says...Great Job Gold City!

Ran into CHANNING ELETON today in my hometown, and he also had heard that the "band" was coming back....

SOOOOOOO looks like we will be seeing a band with GC again very soon.

NOOO Channing isnt playing for them, Josh is doing a terrific job, and Channing is plenty busy enough.

I finally got to see the guys in concert for the first time last night. All I can say is WOW!! I was impressed. Bruce is fantastic! Aaron is dynamite on the old Cathedrals classic Turn Your Back.

And my daughter thinks Josh is cute!

O.K. folks I am about as disappointed in my fellow posters here in SG as I have ever been. I read all od ncdrawl's post and his were not as negative as some of the others and I read both threads. We wonder why artist won't post here yet when one does, for those that do not know ncdrawl is the bass singer for the Stamps Quartet, we run them off. If he don't like Gold City or the Current sound Gold City is producing he is entitled to that opinion. If this is the way we are going to treat the artist when they do bother to post I think I may as well leave also.

I've spend several days pondering whether to respond to this or not but since my comment was the first one to ncdrawl and others have responded I believe I should. I stand by my comment - artist or not - people can have some tack when posting. And every artist I've talked to about the forums agrees with that. Allowing slams without justification is not going to encourage artists to come to the forums.

Now anyone is entitled to like or dislike any group or project but to post a totally negative thread and expect everyone to say 'it's ok' should not be acceptable.

Liking or disliking isn't what makes something NEGATIVE - it is the manner it which it is stated.

Some of my dearest friends are either in service or have been and I have the utmost respect for anyone serving our country. However to quote a retired Major who I allowed to read these comments this weekend 'Serving your country doesn't give you the right to be rude. I served in both Vietnam(2 tours) and Desert Storm right before I retired but that doesn't mean I have to act like jerk. In fact, it should cause me and others who have been there to respect others more not less.'

IMHO, ncdrawl's comments fell within the parameters of the folder rules.

We'll have to agree to disagree, I see nothing constructive or in love nor that will help or improve from the comments below. If you, we are just very different.

dont like the group since Tim left. He WAS Gold City in my opinion...

Aaron sounds similar I guess, but this is the crux of why I dont like the sound. If you are going to sound like someone, you better be twice as good!

Did danny or any of gold city say anything about the band of Gold at concert you recently attended. Sounds like a great concert!! I am anxious to hear them again...the last time i heard them was at the homecoming...so i believe it has been LONG ENOUGH.

Yes, I believe the names have come out (though they slip my mind right now), but Gold City wants them kept quiet until the band members can arrange notices with the groups (or other employers) they're currently with.

By the way, I believe the band won't be at all dates, just on the ones where the promoter can pay for it.

??????? I wonder if they got this idea from The Old Paths ???????????

They have a band (part-time) that plays with them on occasion. They had the band earlier this year at the Jim Hammil Benefit Singing. They sound great with the band.

Please re-read the bold print. Can't we abide by what the group would like for one time?

But if no one seems to know what the names were and the group prefers to keep it quiet for now, who bring it up again. I am sure you can wait until the group wants to make an announcement. That is only fair to them. Things like that is what gives some of us a bad image on the forums.

thats my point santa...SOMEONE does seem to know..or claims to...and if DANIEL had gotten the info, there would have been a press release, i hardly think he would be the first to find out prior to a release..

now i will just have to wonder......like a kid on Christmas day....you know how anxious I am santa, ive always been that way

I love the passion of all of you true gospel music fans! I really do.

And to be redundant: "Vairety IS the spice of life!"

Debates like this remind me of the days when GC and The Cats were both at their zenith, or near there. Folks were so passionate about who was the best. That was and is a hopelessly subjective debate. What a great problem for SG to have.

I appreciate all of you who care about those of us who sing the gospel.
Regardless of your opinions, or how you share them, I thank God for your love for the music, those who sing it...and mostly, the ONE we sing about! amen.

Now...all of you pack up and come to GOGR this weekend.
We will all be there doing our best to lift your spirits and HIS Name!

Thanks...PJ

Well, as I recall, there was a post giving that information. I do know where it is, but I'm not going to post the link. It would be a moot point anyhow, since it was a friend of GC who posted it, and they apparently asked that he edit it, and he did. (This was so that no groups would find out online who would be leaving for GC's band before their member could put in his notice.)

That will be interesting to see considering there isn't that many groups left that even travel with a band.
