I'm thankful for having a chance to volunteer for our local marathon. It was such an uplifting day to be around runners especially now that I'm still recovering from an injury. It was great to cheer and w support and encouragement to the thousands of runners. There was one man who must have been in his 70s. He was second to last, but I was very blessed by the determination this man has. I only wish I'd be like that when I reach that old. It's also adding to my motivation to train for the big one next year.

Wow Prairie - how absolutely wonderful. What a blessing today! Yeah, Rgod, seeing him actually brought tears to my eyes. He was pretty amazing. And he wasn't escorted like the special runners were. It took him about 1.5 hours to reach the five mile mark. I wonder if he ever reached the finished line. I hope he did.

I just want to add that the man that ran yesterday is actually turning 80 this year. Things like this never ceases to amaze me. And he reached the finish line after 3 hours and 56 mins. He was in our local paper today. I'm really thankful to see something like this.

Neat story, PrairieHiker! I'm thankful today for being up to work past my eyeballs, and a volunteer "happening" to stop by and asking if there was anything she could do!

I am thankful for my MIL! She has become very special to me. This is a huge miracle BTW! She's Awsome! It's amazing that it took both of us 20 years and my husband dying, to find out that we are kindred spirits.

I thank God for my health, and my relationship with my daughter. I spent a few months being unable to do the things that I normally do (run, ski, climb, hike) due to a sports injury and it literally put me in a semi depressed mood. Now that I'm getting better, I feel like I can see so many positive things in life. And I went climbing for the first time, and have never felt more alive in a long time. Also, I thank God that He used that period of my inactivity to draw me closer to him. I spent the last six months just delving into a lot of my questions about my faith and I felt that God was there to really reveal himself to me. I studied a lot of theology and apologetics, and through that I've gotten to know and gotten closer to God to the point that I feel that my love for God has finally developed. And for that I'll forver praise Him!

Today I'm thankful for trials... We had a memorial service for an older woman from my church -- a gentle person who love the Lord and always cared about others more than herself. She had a lot of trials in her life but she allowed them to make her even more beautiful inside & out.. The day was much harder than I though it would be -- past memories came thundering up & almost overwhelmed me, but God is good. I knew He was there with me. I'm very thankful for those trials & hard times that make me look to the Lord.... and very thankful for the example of older women who love the Lord & whom I can learn from --

I am thanking and praising God today for gracing me with the ability to perform the best voice jury I've had since starting back to school, and for making life a little easier and showing me more blessings lately. It was soooo hard there for many months. Now it's been easier for awhile and the immediate future looks good, too. I know things can change very quickly but for now, I'm grateful for the rest. besiderself

I'm thankful AWANA is over for the year. Now I'm going to call my friend, say good night, and take my migraine to bed.
