Were you just playing today, or singing, too? Playing and singing is much easier for me now that I have a Countryman mic. "Look mommy, no hands, no stands!"

I'm impressed, Esther!

Technically, I was just playing although I did sing here and there. Doing both at the same time, or playing guitar and singing at the same time, is something that I've been working on recently. Not quite there yet. God's definitely been developing what he gave me, though, so it should happen one of these days. He's also been chipping away at my perfectionism and pride musically a couple of Sundays a month for a while now. :)

I've wondered about those new fangled mics. When I sing with the handhelds, I like to move my head to the side or lower the mic sometimes and not sing directly into it. What is it like not being able to do that with the headpiece mic? Do you like it better?

If you ever get one, you will NEVER want to go back to a handheld or stand mic.

Just like singing in the shower, baby...

But seriously, you don't have to make those adjustments because the mic isn't placed in front of your face...it's very small and a condenser mic, so it is much more able to adjust to your voice than a handheld.

I was very blessed that someone in our church anonymously donated the money for this mic for me!

Yes, it is Budlady. God is very very cool. It's like I'm being wooed by God lately. He knows the struggle I've been in and He's definitely giving me an assurance that He hasn't forgotten me and He will never leave me. I know that God gives us moments like this to strengthen our faith in Him so that when the tough times come, we will remember that He is for us and He is with us always.

I'm thankful for a relatively quiet night at work yesterday and a good workout this morning. I'm easing back into lifting weights so that I don't strain myself. In the near future, I'll be adding calisthenics to my workouts, in the evening after work, as well. My goal is to be down to 22-25% body fat by the time I get married.

I'm thankful that I don't have to know God's exact plans for my life... I'm thankful that I love and trust Him so much... that living each day is a true gift.... and not a task.

You know, I was just thinking this weekend that it's going to be SO awesome to see Rich again. I've been missing his music a lot lately. I wonder how much new stuff he's written in heaven??? So, I thank God for Rich Mullins and how he's blessed SO many with his music.

Being at peace with who I have become and the fact that I don't have regrets

Hi Sarah, and welcome to the board.

I'm thankful for new members.

I'm also thankful that my brother will be out of town from tomorrow morning through Tuesday evening, and I get the house to myself!

I'm thankful for two things today. First, I have an audition next week for a singing/dancing/acting position. It has always been my dream to be able to actually do something like this for a living and I'm nervous about it. I've procrastinated on preparing for it because I've been scared about it. But, I found music and the songs at the library so I don't need to buy it (yeah!!!), and will work on it today. So I have a long weekend full of singing, dancing, and acting ahead of me as I prepare :) I hope I get the position.

Second, on a whim I signed up for a oral history workshop. Well, as part of the workshop we had to conduct an interview with a classmate. The lady who was heading up the workshop pulled me aside and told me that she felt that I was quite talented at this type of work. I'm so glad because I've always wanted to do something like this -- I absolutely love listening to people and hearing their stories. I'm excited because I'm probably going to start doing interviews of people in the area over the next couple of weeks (I'm excited!!!) - and hopefully at some point in time I'll be able to work with people to record their memories of WWII (how cool would that be?).

I'm thankful because even though I am out of work right now, God has allowed me to be able to do all of these things while bringing in money from unexpected places. God is really good!
