Ohmigosh! I totally forgot to mention this!

Kyoudai and I are in a discussion where we don't agree about something. At all.

Thing 1 has heard the discussion but didn't really comment too much on it.

Wednesday night at VBS I asked him what a certain scripture was and he rattled it off to me immediately ('cause he's smarticals like that!).

That night he had a sleepover and didn't go to sleep until around 0530 (thank God he was at my parents house!) but the next day when I picked him and Thing 2 up for VBS he had opened his Bible to a passage concerning the discussion Kyoudai and I were having.

Then he went on to explain how that passage proved us both right. When I asked him about it he said that he had been studying scripture because he was curious about it too.

So I'm thankful that my children thirst for God's Word.

ETA: I could have just said the last line, but what's the fun of that?????

Wow...lots of cool things to be thankful in here. That really blesses my heart to hear. And Tink....how very cool that your son has learned to seek Scripture for an answer at such a young age...that is so awesome!!

I have something that I am thanking God for today. Quite a few years ago my mom married a very violent man and had been married to him for about 6 years and then after she finally broke free from that he still stalked and harrassed us for a number of years, and this did include many death threats. Twice it got so bad my sisters and mom and I had to go to a women's shelter. The shelter was actually just down the road from the place where he worked and one day he had found us and it was a pretty scary experience. Anyway....my new office is in the town where this all took place and is actually right up the road from the shelter and his former place of work. So, every day I pass it and of course it brings back a lot of memories. But what I am thanking God for is that in all the memories that have been flooding back this week as I go back and forth past those places I have come to see that even though my past affected me, it did not defeat me. I can think of those memories and I feel no fear and really no pain. What I do see is God's mercy in my life and all the beautiful things He has done through and since those times. And for that I am wholeheartedly thankful!

..... these are character building experiences for sure! I've been through enough of them to know!

I'm thankful for character building experiences... they help me to know my own strength... they help me to know God's strength...
