COLLEGE ALGEBRA!!!!! I thought I would never see another math class again after leaving high school....boy was I wrong! I needed this class to graduate. I struggled and stumbled through it. The good thing was that my professor was the best at explaining every concept. I availed myself to every additional opportunity (tutoring, office hours, study groups). I got a C.....to me the "C" was like an A!

Well my Statistics class was became difficult for me. It started easy, but about a month later everything became harder. I passed the class with a C. Then I think my hardest college course had to be Financial Accounting. I took accounting in highschool and passed the class with a B, but when I took it in college it was really hard. I don't think the teacher was a very good teacher. The class confused me. Then there was my Macroeconomics course. It wasn't too hard, but I don't think I applied myself hard enough. I did pay attention in class, but I didn't really study for the upcoming tests. The hardest part about that course was writing a 7 page paper on unemployment in Georgia and then he wanted us to break it down to a particular city or town. I only was able to bring 3 pages out of it. It's pretty impossible to write 7 pages on a topic with little to no information in books and the internet. I didn't even pass the course.

My hardest class that i've been encountered was mathematics, funny but that is truth. My classmates said that mathematics was so easy and enjoyable but for me i didn't really enjoy.Every time i hear this words mathematics all difficulties in number comes up to my mind, but today I'm forcing my self to love this subject, and my question is, is it good to force my self to love this subject?

I took Hermeneutics (took it purely for personal enrichment and never did understand some of the methods), Personal Financial Planning (the professor teaches one thing and tests on another; my friend who's a business major got a D), and Technical Writing II (ridiculously precise but useful if you once learn the stuff) in the same semester and got a C in all three of them (I don't remember what else I had off the top of my head, but it added to 18.5 hours). I was so stressed out that I got bronchitis.

I've had Greek and Hebrew together for two semesters so far, and they're not easy, but I've managed As in them to this point. At one point in Biblical Hebrew II, the entire class was failing, so the professor gave us a week to catch up on the homework.

I almost failed a physical education class my first semester of college because I quit turning in assignments when I was ashamed of my BMI. The professor gave me an incomplete and I spent Christmas break catching up, so I finally got a B (one point below an A, but I guess that's fair enough). I lost 70 pounds in the next two years, but I still hate those BMI labs.

Principles of Advertising (the professor didn't really explain what she wanted us to do on anything; didn't want to stifle our creativity) and Statistics (the professor obviously had English as a second language, and that probably didn't help) I never did fully understand. My worst ever class, however, was probably English 101 (yes, and I'm a writing major). I took that class three times and I finally came out with a C. Granted, it was the honors section, which means that I don't have to take the standard junior English class. The first time was an incomplete that I never finished, the second time I just freaked out and dropped the class. Still, you can't avoid freshman English forever. [sm=hammerhead.gif]

3D for Maya
There's SOOOO much to learn and the possibilities seem endless!!
1 little mistake and poof! ya can ruin an entire project...as I learned the hard way...
However, it is verry fun to see your models come to life. :D

kornfannatic08 -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (6/20/2008 2:45:51 PM)

3D is cool! Well, I've only taken two semesters so far, but my hardest class has been Introductory Linguistics. I thought the course would be more etymology based, but it was actually science-based.

I think more accurate or more detailed syllabi would help so that students don't get the wrong impression about the approach of a class.

armydude -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (6/20/2008 7:52:02 PM)

When I attended college the first time, I absolutely HATED calculus. I thought I could handle it, but it was WAY over my head.

ChristianAttorney35 -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (6/20/2008 9:32:34 PM)

My hardest "college" class was high school Honors English in 10th grade.

That was 1,000x harder than anything I took in college.

I used to hide in the corner outside the teacher's line of sight, praying that he would never call on me.

Man, that was the worst feeling EVER!!

bzirk -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (6/21/2008 7:59:09 PM)

That's interesting. I had a really difficult honors English class in 10th grade as well. Just about killed me. We had to read 10 novels (off a list of pretty serious books/authors). Stuff like Dr. Zhivago, Brother Karamazov, Steppenwolf, The Stranger, Tale of Two Cities and novels by quite a few other foreign authors. We had to write a "report" after every book, and each one focused on a different type of writing, e.g., literary analysis, summaries, persuasive essays, descriptive essays, precis, etc. But when I got to college, I was not thrown by what I had to do. Much as I just about cursed (didn't quite but almost) my sophomore English teacher, she did me a great favor.

Anything to do with Shakespeare because we had to show up for class and stay awake!!

TorchHeart -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (6/22/2008 12:43:46 AM)

Calculus. I failed that sucker COLD!

OneOfHisJewels -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (6/26/2008 12:28:08 AM)

my four year college: spanish, because I wasn't really prepared for it. I dropped it and audited it, planning to retake it, but I never got to finish school, so I never got to do that. As far as the hardest course that I didn't drop, other than math, which as hard as it was, I can't really count, because it was really just a class that was making up for highschool algebra I and II, the hardest class was Geological Science. I wanted to take Biology, but that school only let the Biology majors take Biology. Cultural Heritage of the West was hard, too. It was WAY over my head. I don't know HOW I passed that class with a C. I surely thought I would fail it.

My two year college:economics, which I dropped. As far as a class that I didn't drop, let's see: Well, compared to the four year college, none, but let me think. I guess this advanced English class I took (even though that's my favorite subject).

whisper -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (6/27/2008 1:40:56 AM)

There's two answers here, very different from each other:

1- Chemistry (both inorganic and organic). I love math and physical sciences, loved biological sciences, loved calculus, linear algebra, etc. but for some reason, chemistry nearly killed me. A straight A college pupil, but I've never worked harder for a lower grade in my life. I'm honestly not sure how I even managed to get my 4 B-s in those classes (2 semesters of 2 classes of each)

2- Understanding Nursing Research. Had to take it by correspondence, and the text was so dry and the assignments so mindless and easy that what should have been done in roughly a month took roughly a year. I'm finally free of it. Bloody research.

It's because organic chemistry is the devil. And I'm not joking.

How sad is this, my Personality Theories class was harder than my Physics and Calculus II class combined.

:( Awww, I'm sorry it was hard for you.

If you think what I just said is weird, it's only because I want to be a Neuropsychologist so I loved every minute of my class.

beachcooky -> RE: What was your hardest college class? (7/5/2008 11:37:52 PM)

My hardest? Probably my Math is my SECOND semester. They had factoring, yuck. I failed the final, but overall, I received an 84 in that class, so I was pretty proud. But I didn't get most of the teachings...so it was extremely hard.
