Everytime I make a post in a new thread, I am automatically subscribed to it. This works well most of the time, however sometimes you when you are just posting your 2 cents to an initial poster, others will go into this long, huge debate over the pros and cons of what the OP is asking. I could really care less and when I read this stuff just go blah, blah, blah instead!

Very recently I have been trying to read "all of the postings" in a chat or PFY thread. Before I would just either skim or go to the very last page with a couple of exceptions. This is surely adding to my forums subs back log now.

.... hey Trish. Just popping in here for a sec...

Today I watched a show on Fibromyalgia... (I'm not sure I spelled that right... )

I was interested to see that most doctors are still uneasy diagnosing the disease... and it's been around for many years.

I was also interested to see the doctors urging other doctors to treat not only the physical pain... but to consider the mental fatigue (which usually shows as depression) also.

I learned that stretching exercises are beneficial... but patients must not over-due it....

I also learned that stress management is very important....

I was glad I watched the show... I think it really helped me to understand better the pain you are experiencing...

The one things the doctors truly stressed: learning to manage fibromyalgia is a journey... what works for one person may not work for another. Don't give up!!!

Love you, Trish....

Always,

Rachel

Hi Joy, Mike and Rach.

Yay! I didn't have to come in to 118 subs today! Only 26.

Joy, thankyou for passing on my message to Renee.

Rach, yes, you did spell fibromyalgia right. I wish they'd have that programme here. It'd be good to see. I agree with treating the mental fatigue on top of the physical pain. Being in constant pain does get extremely wearing. I know depression can be linked to fibromyalgia. The physiologist had me doing stretches, but found that I can't do them as they make me even worse. When I go to the gym, I do 5 minutes on a stationary bike. That's my warmup as other exercises cause too much pain. Then I do my workout. At this stage, I only seem to be able to get there once a week instead of the two or three times the physiologist would eventually like me to go.

Yes, doctors are very uneasy about diagnosing fibromyalgia. I can tell you that first hand. That's why I've only just been able to make an appointment to see about a diagnosis.

Stress management would be something that I need to work on.

Thanks for your encouragement, Rach.

Thanks Deb.

Just had a quiet day today. I had planned on going to the gym this morning, but didn't get there. I'd been wheezing in the early hours of this morning, and then when I tried to read a letter out to Joan before we were due to leave, I couldn't breathe properly. I've got a head cold and with the weather being so cool here, my asthma is playing up. Had a really hot shower tonight to try and open my airways a bit better.

Is it just me, or is CW loading really slowly?

Yeah, what Rach said!

Oh well, I'm glad it's not just me. It was so slow that I thought it was going to time out.

Well, I'm going to sign off for now. My hair's almost dry now, meaning I can head to bed. Take care all.

Me too, and it always dries funny because of the straps for my mask.

Yes it would.

I don't like going to bed with wet hair. For starters, my hair is so thick that it would end up wetting my pillows big time. Second, my hair would dry in all sorts of weird angles being past my shoulders. I have enough trouble trying to control my hair without having freaky bed hair as well.

I'd planned on coming in here last night when I was online, but I fell asleep at the computer. When I woke up, I thought it was a good idea to go straight to bed instead of trying to keep on posting like I usually do.

We're supposed to have thunderstorms, lightning and hail for at least the next 24-36 hours. Thankfully no sign of it yet. If I'm not around for the next couple of days, you know why.

Joan and I are going to go to a couple of movies tomorrow. We haven't been to one in ages and Joan wants us to treat ourselves. John has a men's meeting in town, so while he's at that, we're going to the movies. Joan wants to see Mamma Mia. Not really my thing, but oh well. There's a couple of movies I would prefer seeing, but they're too long before we go and see the second movie, (Mamma Mia). So, we'll go and see Meet Dave first. Anybody seen that? We finish at the movies about the time John is due home, and he has to drive past where the theatres are, so he'll drop us off on his way out and pick us up on his way home. Have a few groceries to pick up before we come home, but that's ok.

I liked ABBA as a kid. I'm not so keen on them now. John's the ABBA fan in our household, but he wouldn't like the chick flick aspect to the movie.

I'm feeling pretty sore at the moment. John drove us down to the gym today. Yes, I finally got there again. The workout and the equipment gave me pain, but so did the accident we had when we arrived there. John was backing into the parking space when I heard this huge bang! He hit a parked car with a fair bang and my back really didn't appreciate it. So I'm sorer than usual at the moment. We had to get me some meds after the gym, and when we pulled into the parking lot, (different one, and thankfully no more accidents), I just burst into tears from the pain and I think shock.

Have you seen Meet Dave?
