oops, no more bag slots is almost as bad as no more arrows!
My DH has toons that he plays without me and toons that we try to keep leveled evenly. Today my problem is how to play without getting boogers on the keyboard. I have had the sniffles all day.

If you take my age and elpenor's age and subtract one from the other, when you multiply the square of the differance by eleven, is the same as when you add our two ages together.

I have to admit, I way over-complicated the solution at first using algebra. Then I said "wait a minute, just use the properties of numbers".
So then your combined ages are a multiple of 11 as you indicated because 11 was the multiplier of the difference. Now if you are something older than me, that means the answer is in upper part of the 11 multiplication series. So by simple elimination I quickly narrowed down the product to one of 88, 99, and 110. Knowing that your age is in the 40-somethings eliminated any others.
Now also knowing that the difference squared must be used to produce the multiple of 11, I know that the difference cannot be too significant else the numbers would grow too large quickly. So then the difference must be something like 2, 3, or 4 because beyond that the squares create too high a difference to satisfy the equations.
So then I took the middle road and guessed the difference was "3" and when applied to the formula yields a product of 99 which is the sum of the ages. So then I have x - y = 3 and I have x + y = 99. Solving the first in terms of x yields x = 3 + y. Doing simple substitution into the second yields the equation (3 + y) + y = 99, or simplified 2y = 96 which means y = 48. Substituting back into the first now yields x = 3 + 48 which is 51.
Plugging the answers back in shows that 51 + 48 = 99 = 11 * ( 51 - 48 ) = 99 which indicates the numbers are correct.
Now recalling from your posts that your DH is the older of the two of you means you are "y" and he is "x" years old.
How's that?

OUr Alliance server was down for upgrades last night so we played our horde toons on THunderhorn. Got my troll upto a wopping level five. interesting nubbie quest, to thump the sleeping peons. It is nice to see the artwork on the Horde side. Not pretty but the details are great.
