Learning the subtleties of life on a PVP server still. Trying to quest in contested zones, having lvl ?? kids gank me when I have a bear three levels over me chasing me back to the road, and always looking over your shoulder. Not that I mind too much really. You just have to be more patient, and keep your quests spread out.

So when you get smacked in one zone too many times, you get back to non-contested zone, and either farm or work on weapon skills. I try to keep all of mine up as high as I can get them anyway, including unarmed. Plus the farming and herbing definitely help the bank.

my kids want my DH and I to make a guild of undead to go PVPing with. Great (argh) my feminine side just grosses out from the undead.

After Christmas we want to get my daughter on Wow, too although I don't know how often she will be available to play.

In the meantime my sweetie and I took our mains and ran about in Horde land last weekend. Had to be careful not to start any PVP fights. We are only level 22s. But that African Savannah area is great for hunting, is it not?

Are you talking about The Barrens? That place is a gold mine for late teens to mid 20's, especially for a skinner. Some farmer or someone is always killing something and leaving the carcass. Especially outside of the Crossroads before, during, and after a raid attempt. The warriors charge up their rage on all the plainstriders and the skinners, like my DW in one of her chars, descend on the plains in a skinning frenzy :-)

And hey, let your feminine side shine in a pretty little undead woman with green skin and purplish hair

OH! I almost forgot to link this. Some creative players took a Weird Al song and cooked up some WoW machinma to go along with it.

I was out with my nubie night elf druid (my DD started her on my computer one day as a lark) and someone kept telling me I was "hot". egads! Just because I was level next-to-nothing doesn't mean that I have no idea what is going on. And then I was challenged to a duel by another level-next-to-nothing. I replied, not tonight thanks, and went my merry way.

My wonderful step son uses a gal toon to get stuff. When someone askes if he really is a woman, he just answers tee-hee and some well meaning guy helps him out. I just shake my head. I don't even do that!

Happy Thanksgiving. Now get off of the computer and go enjoy your family (unless they are here reading over your shoulder). Enjoy!

5 days and no WoW. Yes we have real lives

We had a good Thanksgiving. So good, I never once missed having Internet access the whole time I was away. We took our tribe (all 7 of us) to my parents' house and had Thanksgiving dinner with them and my brother and his family (all 3 of them) so we had an even dozen for the day. Note this was the first time my two kids (17 and 15 yo) had ever had Thanksgiving dinner with my parents. God is so good. Yes we are thankful for what God has done for us.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Yes there is life beyond Internet and WoW

I have been playing (about 20 minutes at a time) and trying to finish some quests... What I have found is that it is very difficult to accomplish anything in 20 minutes... sigh.

Too bad I have to work, sleep and cook meals....

Maybe by the end of the decade I might reach lvl 60.

I got my mage past lvl 40. I've been maxing out his tailoring and enchanting skills. I've had patterns and enchants to learn in the bank for mnths. Finally it's opening p again.

Now I just have my warrior to get past 40. Woot! Blacksmithing's next.

Hi car2ner!

HI right back!

I am hoping to get my church's float stuff done tonight, dinner cooked and a quick trip to the store (yeah right) and then I can play tonight?

My DH has been playing pvp and was having a good time strutting his stuff a bit after a particularly good campaign.

Player-vs-Player.... If your PVP flag is up, you can be targeted by the "enemy faction"....

Alliance vs. Horde.

I have just picked up the skill of cooking... egads, cooking in real time and cooking in the game. I hope my DH doesn't expect my little night elf to cook Christmas dinner in the Dwarf homeland.

I don't eat alot but I do have to have a bunch of kitty food. My tiger is my alli.

The great thing about the cooking skill is when you cook foods that give you a well fed bonus that buffs your stamina (I think, could just be health, can't remember). That is why I have about 40 servings of crispy thunder lizard tail (or whatever its called when its cooked) right now in my warlock's bag. He needs that extra boost out there in the wilds.

The thing I have found that goes unmentioned a lot is fishing. Not only do you catch fish that you can cook, but sometimes you catch junk, and I mean good junk. Things like sealed trunks and boxes full of goodies. Goodies like plain old silver, bolts of various cloth, weapons, etc. Fish directly in the schools of fish and sometimes you get this kind of stuff. Sometimes you just get stranglekelp (which I need anyway). Fish in "floating debris" and all you get is good junk.

Another thing, some things you fish for are reagents needed for other things. Oh, and deviate fish, too funny when eaten. Cooked yields savory deviate delight. Seriously, you can have a lot of fun doing mundane things in this game.

And I can't let this post end without mentioning nogginfogger. Ya gotta do that quest in Tanaris to get nogginfogger. But ya gotta be fairly high level. Quaffing nogginfogger yields interesting results for your character.

So for each of my characters I start them out as soon as possible with all 3 secondary skills: fishing, cooking, and first aid.

I'm curious, during the holiday season, does the amount of players online increase or decrease? On one hand, you've got more people actually involved in travel and holiday parties and real world stuff, but on the other hand, you've got more students on break from school... Hmmm.

(try as I might, I usually can't bring myself to just "bump" a thread. I have to say something no matter how inane.)

They give extra "credit" to players who participate in battlefields on many holiday weekends. So the hard core battlegrounders come on and go into queue for those. It seems like all the kids home from school are on (which makes chat MUCH worse).

I personally find that there are more players on on weekends than week days and likewise, an increase during holidays. I expect the increase during holidays is of the pre-teen to teen crowd (ever try to have a rational discussion about in-game behavior with an anonymous 11-year old player?). I think this holds true given that the younger crowd are probably not interested in going to Aunt Tessie's holiday party (AGAIN), and they typically don't "party" on their own. But hey, I am an old dude, what do I know?

didn't know that there is extra credit for holiday play!

The young dudes at the house never mentioned it and the old dude is running around killing horde players (tee hee) and doing pretty well most nights.

btw, I made an icky undead warrior. eeeeeeeeeeew
