Is the popped up coller thing coming back in again? that was so popular in the 80's when guys matched the color of socks with the shirt. Red polo/red socks etc. LOL. I hope everyone is having a great day.
Taking the coffee to go Iggy.....busy day ahead.

No. I harass my friends when they do it. Some skippers used to do it to harass me, and I'd find the nearest manager to point out how uncool that is.

Iggy insisted on popping the collar.

Iggy must be around my age.....it was cool in my younger days.

from wikipedia:
In 1980, Lisa Birnbach published The Official Preppy Handbook, in which she extolled the "virtues of the upturned collar." According to Ms. Birnbach, rather than being a sports innovation, the upturned collar on a tennis shirt was simply a signal that the wearer is a "preppy". Despite this obviously tongue-in-cheek characterization, Ms. Birnbach did correctly identify that one was more likely to view an upturned collar on the beaches of Nantucket than one would in middle America.

Today, some Americans regard the trend as having worn out, and thus the wearer of an upturned collar can be the object of mockery and scorn. Still, others continue to turn up their collars as a popular culture fashion. This has been bolstered by publicity from retailers with a middle-class clientele, such as J. Crew, Abercrombie & Fitch, and American Eagle Outfitters.

lol, i think most of my shirts are from from ae ... but maybe this just means you are still in your younger days nadine ... still cool ... except when ridiculed by FB or my coworker lol if we bust on ig-meister, he might burn my omelette, so i'm just trying to make him feel better...

Some people can pull off any style old or new. Iggy must be one of them.
Thanks for the research.
Younger days.....I can only hope. Only young guys pay attention to me anyway. I can't seem to turn the head of a 50 something if I tried....I think they are looking for someone younger than me. Go figure. O well I guess I don't really want a guy who is going through his midlife crisis anyway.

hmmm ... the wheels are turning

I'm the only one in my house who will eat cheesecake though. And, unfortunately, I am done turning my oven on until November!! It's not officially TOO HOT

SaraLee makes a pretty good cheesecake. That is what I am going to use for my cheescake on a stick.
I laughed when I read what you said about the heat and baking.
The form of cooking that keeps from heating the house up the best is the crockpot. But the only thing I want to eat from the crockpot when it is so hot is my pulled beef sandwiches. LOL

May I have your attention please?

I hereby officially declare this thread a drama free zone. So enjoy the cookies, and enjoy the hammocks--- I brought in some extras for the occasion, and let's all chill out together.

Oh, and did I mention Iggy's got the ice cream machine running? Vanilla. Should be ready in a few hours.

Ooooh! Yum!!! He should add some instant pudding to it. Makes it creamier.

Thank you, Tina. *huggles* You're the best.

Well I failed to mention that there'd be a topping bar. Complete w/ standard toppings in addition to sundae options such as brownies, cookies, cake, and <ahem> strawberry cheesecake.
