I beg your pardon? Surely Lisa doesn't want her drinks all spilled all the time (or drunken if they are good drinks)

I'm opening the walls in the bathrrom closet to get at the back of the tiles on teh ends of the tube. I'll just screw the drywall pieces back on when I'm done. Never know when I'll need to get back in there and no one will be looking at them anyway.
I'm incredibly talented when it come to working arond the house. I've remodelled about 80% of teh house from the studs out so far. I do everything except natural gas lines, finishing drywall and laying ceramic tile. (I'll hang drywall, just hate finishing it.)
Now before the O.H. kicks in to kick me let me say that I do most of the work for two reasons. I'm too cheap to pay someone else to do it and it lets me buy more tools!!

Your O.H. needs to cut you some slack at times. You have a God-given gift, for which I'm sure you thank him.
What's so bad about laying tile?

What's so bad about laying tile?
Laying tile's not too bad. In fact it's actually rather simple and looks liek a lot of fun, however I've not done it before and the first course of tile above a tub is somewhat critical so I want it done right. Also, I'd have to buy (or rent) a tile saw as there is a lot of cutting that will need to be done and I just don't have the time to mess with it. My tile guy will be able to knock the whole job out in a day where I'd take a week or longer. June is coming up fast. I've got to get done.

Would have to be my cordless drill.. I bought a six pack of cordless tools a couple years ago and the drill gets used for everything. For detail work probably my Dremel rotary tool is best. I like working with hand tools but haven't had the time to set up a proper shop where I can work with them just forthe sake of working with them. Most of what I do is "Get it done as fast as you can" type work so I've got to use the power tools.

Today is M's b-day. After work the Girl and I will be going to the cemetery and releasing balloons with notes to mommy on them. We've done this every year since she went home. It helps us remember all the good things about M.
I received a wonderful email from one of M's friends today. It was just a "I still remember and think of her often" email. It blessed my heart.

Yesterday was M's B-day. The third one we remembered since she went home.
It was kind of bizarre. We were there at the cemetery remembering and there was only a trace of sadness.
Along with the sadness however there was this internal feeling of unease that there was not enough sadness. I know I have to let go in order to move on but it just feels odd to not be as broken up about her passing as I used to be.
Just kind of odd.

John, you're healing - that's why. It's normal. You will always have just a tinge of it, but that's okay too. Your new wife will understand.
It's exciting to see how far you've come since first joining our happy family here - and WE are the ones who are truly blessed by your presence and interaction with us all. God knows what He's doing.

Well since you enjoy it so much I'll keep you posted. Today I removed 1/2 of the remaining tiles. Should get the rest off tomorrow. Then Saturday I can start re-sloping the tub and then on Monday I'll call the tile guy and let him know I'm ready for him.
YAY! it's actually going a little faster than I expected. (Of course I still have to clean the backs of the tiles but I can get that done while I'm waiting for him to show up)
