When she sang at church I had so many people come up and thank me for her. It really touched their hearts. I even had two men come up to me in tears.

Then during the competition I had several people say that everyone around them was crying. Not a dry eye in the place.

She didn't win but she sure did minister. And that makes me so proud. God has been so good to me.

I wasn't aware there was a competition involved--I do realize it wasn't during the performance on the video, but being in the voice instruction business, I'm curious: What was the competition and what were the parameters?

Did she have any coaching?

6 and a half minutes is an incredibly long amount of time for a child her age to manage to maintain a presence on stage...she almost lost it a couple times, but she held strong and I'm impressed.

She also had stage confidence...not something you find in 7 year olds that often. She wasn't afraid of the mic, and held it well for her age.

Did she pick her own song?

I really enjoyed watching and listening to that, John. Tell her so for me.

It was a talent expo for 6-12 year olds. She competed against the other female vocalists. I don't know how the judging was done as I've not seen the sheets yet. The winner was a 6 year old who had obviously rehearsed a long time.

I told her to stand up striaght , hold the mic close to her mouth and smile at the audience every once in a while. Does that count?

During the competition she lost it on the second to last line but it greatly ministered to the people. Of course by then everyone else in the room was crying anyway so she just fit in.

Yep. She didn't want a "cutesy kid song" So we went to the bible bookstore and listened to a bunch of them. This is the one she wanted to sing.

(I'm a big believer that in a ministry setting if the song doesn't otuch you it's not going to touch them either)

I will do that. Thank you again.

Thank you Joy,

She's gotten to be quite grown up in that short year. Much more confident and secure. She can be quite the lady, but she's also at home in any tree!

John, I finally got a chance to see the video. How lovely! Thank you for sharing! She really did just fine. I was really impressed with her sense of timing and her feel for the song. I could tell she felt at home on the stage. Oh, and nice video work too.

Oh, John, thank you for sharing that. She is growing into quite a lovely lady, and she did a beautiful job. I loved how she slowly became more comfortable on the stage as she moved around.

I try ot read four pages a day. This is actually the hardest part of the whole bible for me. The history goes even quicker. The key point though is to get back into teh habit of reading some every day, and to read the entire thing.

She did do a great job didn't she. She sings like her mommy did.

Is it? Or is the key to allow God to speak through what you read each day? To allow those words to absorb into your mind causing a transformation of thought?

I, for one, would love for you to share more then just the chapters read. It would be great if you shared what God spoke to you as you read.

BUT...don't let that make anxious and then stop you from reading (or posting your reading to keep track) here.

Oh come on John_o I expected a much better answer then that..........Here I had my debate all ready to go, excitingly tapping my fingers on my desk, eager to quote Revelations to you.....about how giving testimony to what God is doing and saying to us defeats Satan........and then you go and post........Now what am I suppose to say?

Poor me.....all raring to go with no place to post......LOL

Lev 11-14

Lev 14 discusses the cleansing of a leper. Lev 14:14-18 deals with the anointing of the cleansed leper.

First the blood of the tresspass offering is put upon his right ear lobe, right thumb and right big toe. Then the oil is put on those same spots. My thought was "Why"?

In both OT and NT the oil was used as a symbol ofthe Spirit of God. So the leper could not recieve the Spirit without first being cleansed by the blood. The priest could have poured oil on him all day but he wouldnot have benefited from it in any way.

Likewise we must be cleansed by the blood of the tresspass offering (Jesus) in order to receive the Holy Spirit.

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

While the OT laws are difficult to read (for me at least), every once in a while the parallels to Christ can be seen.

Interesting .........why is a good question.

I haven't read the passage so I don't know what God would say through the whole thing but the first thing which popped into my mind.........

Why those three areas........

The Ear lobe........because the ear must be purified so we can hear the voice of God......

The right Thumb.........Because it is crucial part of the hand and without it our hands are less capable to grip tight to the things of God and be His hands to others........

The right toe..........with out the toe we are less balanced........we need our big toe to enable us to run the race with grace and balance.........and with that toe we can walk over much rougher territory without tripping.........

Interesting passage.....I can't help but wondering why the right??? ........why was God specific to the right......I may have to read it this afternoon just to see if God will answer why the right.........does anyone else have a thought as to why the right?

I am thinking maybe the reason those were the first places the blood was used was because they are such key parts of the body for our walk with God.........without purity in those areas the body could never really be cleansed..........

Interesting.........hmmmmmmm I will have to thank about this more.

Thanks for sharing John_O.........

Cause even God doesn't like leftists?

Biblically the right is good and the left is bad. ("Seated at the right hand" etc)

Not done a study on it yet though.

Actually no, the left hand is not know as the "bad" hand in the bible. My husband did a study of this years ago and he always bounced everything off of me. So now that you brought it up I am going to do the study for myself. One hand is always mentioned to speak of the power of God the other I don't remember so now I will do a study. This is the only scripture I remember him mentioning(and only because it was highighted in my Bible (winks at Fritz)

Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
2 Corinthians 6: 4-10

Israel put his right hand on Ephraim and gave him the birthright over Manasseh, even though Manasseh was the firstborn. (Genesis 48)

However...

Ehud, the left-handed minor judge, killed the king of Moab with his sword in an unexpected, stealth move. (Judges 3)
