mom used to make hawaiian chicken with pineapple and all other kinds of stuff on it. yum. unfortunately, she refuses to cook any more chicken!
but even better-- pineapple upside down cake. that's like the best cake ever!!

Those both sound good ... I have had the bacon wrapped waterchestnuts and though they were delicious!
We normally make the pineapple and the water chestnut both. I prefer the pineapple. It's not that the water chestnut isn't good. It's just that the pineapple is so much better.
