Hi Trish & Ginny! Welcome to my thread, Ginny -- don't think I've seen you in here before Yes we had plans for the weekend . . well, part of it anyway. Our anniversary was Saturday, but since we'd not made any special plans for that (really coudln't afford to), we went to a young man's graduation party. He's from our church, and Bill has gotten to know his dad pretty well as he worked on my computer several times, and as Bill has spent quite a lot of time with the church people in general. So he was agreeable to go, and we had a good time. Then we came home and watched a movie together. Today we went out for lunch, and even tho it was a local place, we'd not been there in quite a while and they've changed their menu -- pleasingly so! He had a steak and I had something called Naked Fajita Platter . . sounds risque, I know, but really it was very good chicken strips, peppers, onions, in a spicy, but not too hot sauce, sprinkled with strips of tortilla chips and served with a good helping of black beans & rice with tortillas on the side. VERY good! I was impressed. And I had a bite of Bill's steak which was tender & juicy even tho it was well done (I usually get my steaks medium-rare, and even prefer rare to well done) . . . you can bet we'll be visiting that place again! When we returned home it was so hot and humid we wound up closing the house up and kicking the a/c on . . I'm finally cooling off a bit . . . we had actually left one of our usual restaurants cuz their a/c was not working well . . hate eating in a hot restaurant . . . . and while I might give a little with a small mom/pop operation, I have no patience for a big truck stop raking in thousands of $$$ a day not having a good a/c system up & running in this kind of humid heat. We have a heat index of 93 with 69% humidity. And I'm surprised that humidity is that low cuz it feels like you could cut it with a knife Anyway, we're home now, and I may not go back out for church . . . feeling pretty wiped.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes, Mike & Zondie . . and for the prayers about the trip. I'm not sure yet what time we'll be going . . will talk to Melissa in the morning and determine that. I took a short nap after I posted earlier, and felt quite revived when I got up . . . I never cease to be amazed how much a short nap or even just a 'catnap' will revive me. Used to laugh at my mom for that all the time, and now I've been doing it for at least 20 years. It works We sold our waterbed today! . . listed it on a local website, at first just the mattress, no bites, but then decided we didn't need the foundation -- it made our bed too high, so listed it last night. A girl emailed me about it, then we made contact today. It was a quick easy sell, and they didnt' even try to talk us down. I need to get more stuff together and list on that site. I've really had good results with most stuff I've tried to sell from there. Anyway, they will come pick up the bed tomorrow. It was looking like rain today, and they had a truck, so decided not to chance trying to make it back home with it . . . 'course it IS a waterbed, so *shrug* AND . . in preparing for them to come look at the water bed, the foundation of which is in our bedroom under our new bed, I did a great job of getting the bedroom cleaned up . . . can't believe I did that in probably less than an hour & a half . . sometimes I just need incentive! . . . we have a large bedroom, with several pieces of furniture to dust, and none of it had been dusted since the beginning of the floor-laying, so it was pretty cruddy. I got the overhead fan dusted Friday, and had wiped down the piano at the same time with the damp cloth, but it needed furniture cream rubbed into it (tho it's so old I'm not sure why I bother). Anyway, I rubbed furniture cream in that plus the vanity and a walnut table. I used regular furniture polish on the bedside tables, a shelf and another small table, and there are still 3 pieces of furntiture that have been semi-cleaned/dusted, but which really need a better job (another day). But I got the floor vacuumed, and things picked up & put away, and it really looks pretty good! I'm thrilled I also cleaned all the mess out of our kitchen/dining room again -- Bill was working on the threshholds this weekend, so had scattered tools & stuff once again. Plus there was just a lot of leftover debris from all the reorganization that had not found it's proper home, so now that is (hopefully) put away properly. Then I managed to give the dog a much needed bath . . wanted to do that before the girls come down cuz they'll have him sleeping in their bed, if I know them, and he spends far too much time running in the woods to allow that without a bath. So he's all fresh & clean, and I even washed & dried his blankets off his two beds while I was doing that, so they are clean also. All in all, I got quite a lot done, all this afternoon/early evening, since I was in church this morning, then we went out to eat. so didn't get home until 1:30 or 2:00. The ppl didn't come about the bed until 7:30, tho, so that helped a lot. Now it's bedtime, and I'm a bit sleepy, so guess I will head to bed.

Sounds like a good day 'in spite of' . . . so glad it turned out ok for you, and that you got to visit the cemetery. Bill cooked us some brats & hot dogs on the grill last night around 7:30 or 8:00 . . . they were toooooo good! and we ate toooooo much, also I'll pray for a shot of courage for you for the dentist visit tomorrow, and for healing for your daughter.

Me too Pengie. I'll pray. See my post in Maggie's thread. Maybe the bible reading I did today will strengthen you and help as it did me. Love in Christ, Ginny

Thanks for all the prayers, everyone. Today was exhausting! I started at the dentist with a very large cavity that needed attention. While there my Internist called my husband's cell saying they needed me to come into their office today as well! ( I was already going to my cancer specialist.) So after the dentist, I go to the cancer Dr and learn that my blood levels are in the danger zone and my tumor in my head is out of control. My calcium level is too low and so is my thyroid level. Both my cholesterol and blood pressure are way too high. While at the Dr, my tooth that I had fixed began to ache very badly. So I called the dentist and went back over there to have it checked. Turns out it was simply the filling was too high and was an easy fix. (Thank God) Then on to the Internist who basically said the same thing the cancer specialist said with the exception that I am basically dying unless things change. All in all, a very draining day. I came home with a migraine and two hungry dogs that needed to go out. Tomorrow my daughter has a dental apt. Thankfully my hubby is taking her so that I can rest. I have another Dr apt on Thursday to prepare for.

(((((((Pengie))))))) Please know that I'm continuing to pray. And please don't take any offence in what I'm about to say here. Sweetie, we are all dying...every day. We're all getting closer to the day we depart this earth and go to a life of eternity. You already know all of this, but what I'm trying to get around to, is this: I may not be here tomorrow, so for today...how can I be used to bring more glory to God? That's why He created us, right? For HIS glory! So, for as long as I'm to live, I want it to be to glorify the Father! You, dear one, have been bringing glory to His name, and have been a good witness; right here on these threads of CW. Continue to fight the good fight sis. Now, is not the time to let your guard down and give any room to the enemy! Your attitude can contribute to your health, so I'm counting on you to be the inspiration to others that I know you are! You so inspire me! You've been on my heart and mind, since I first got aquainted with you on these posts! And I've not, nor will I, stop praying for you! You're a treasure to us all Pengie! Now...Let's fight this thing together, in the name of Jesus!

Amen . . and thank you for your words of wisdom, Zondie. Pengie, I hope to hear from you soon . . . still praying for you. The granddaughters have been down this week and it's been a pretty full week . . . I've been posting in the daily chat thread, tho, rather than here -- dunno why . . . anyway, today I'm taking them on a rafting float trip with my niece, her two kids, and some friends of hers. It will be the granddaughters' first rafting trip, so we're really looking forward to it. I'll be getting them up in few minutes to get on the road.
