Thank you all for your prayers, and thank you, Zondie for your words of inspiration!

I saw the Sleep Clinic Dr on Thursday and it looks like I'll be doing a sleep study on June 13th. There is a possibility that a cpap could reduce some of my morning headaches. At this point . . . I'll try anything!

The tooth the dentist worked on has continued to hurt all week. Plue one on the top has joined in on the pain. The Dentist thinks I need a root canal, but can't see me until Tues morning. He is a Christian Dentist and is preparing for a mission trip to the Amazon on the 9th of June. Please pray for his trip. I just hope I can get my tooth to settle down before he leaves!

Ginny - thank you for asking how I am. I am ok. I have to deal with headaches and my husband grumbles at the cost of pain meds, but I am managing. Bad timing for a toothache though - lol

Monday I see the cardiologist again. I'm not sure why though since my cath test was great. I learned from my internist that the ultrasound on my heart was normal too. Guess he just needs to make a car payment - lol

My kidney level is what everyone is so upset about. Apparently it is too low and impaired for normal function. I've been told to never take anti-inflammitory drugs or motrin again. Not that I did all that much anyway.

Tonight is a party for my niece who is graduating High School. It seems like just yesterday I was waiting in the hospital for her to be born. Time moves on, doesn't it? She is a Christian young lady now. With plans to be a pediatrition someday. I pray God blesses her.

Pengie, so good to see you posting . . . I so sorry for all the toothache pain you're having on top of everything else that's going on. I'll be praying you get the teethe all settled back down before the dentist takes off . . . will pray for his mission trip.

Hopefully, the sleep study will go well and the cpap will help you sleep better and wake refreshed with no headaches. I've heard from so many ppl that it does that for them. Also have heard that I should have a sleep study done and possibly get one myself. However, I have no insurance, so can't see that happening. Besides, I can't even stand the sheet over my face, so how would I ever sleep with a mask on??? Owell.

Yes, time does move on -- pretty fast, it seems anymore. I can't believe our granddaughters are so big . . . it just doesn't seem possible.

Speaking of them, guess it's time to get them up and on the road.

Linda, you can't sleep with the sheet over your nose because it reduces the amount of air available for breathing. But the cpap wouldn't do that. It keeps giving you tons of air to breathe.

It was a beautiful day, and a wonderful time! And it was so good to let the girls play with some of their cousins. They have so little contacts with their cousins, and haven't gotten to know hardly any of them. I think God inspired me to make that call, because really this isn't a niece I'm particularly close to -- she's a little younger than Melissa, and tho they hung together quite a lot as kids, they rather grew apart in Melissa's high-school years. But she has a daughter, as I said, close to the girls' age, and I really wanted them to get to know her better. They had a great time playing together.

There were a couple of 'mishaps' . . . the first one was when my great nephew (6 y/o), with his lifejacket firmly in place (thankfully!) got caught by the current and swept away from his sister and Ariana . . . we were upstream just above the stronger current, and if any of you know anything about a raft, you know you don't go anywhere very fast in a 12-man raft without a good current. His sister finally reached him just before his mother, and just before our raft got caught by the current and caught up with them.

The next was when we went past the take-out place . . my niece's mistake . . and had to push/pull the raft back upstream in very swift water a few hundred yards. I fell off the side of the raft trying to get out to help push, then found I couldn't help anyway, as I could barely stand against the current. In fact, wasn't sure I WOULD stand against the current, but I did taking it one step at a time, and finally crossing the river to close to where we needed to be. The rafting guys saw us struggling with the raft (actually, my niece wound up pulling it across by herself -- she's young and strong ), and came downriver a bit to meet us so we wouldn't have to go the last half of the upstream journey. Crazy! . . and I lost my sunglasses in the melee` . . . thankfully, they were only $1 glasses I'd picked up at the $1 shop, tho they were sunglass/reading glasses, and I was really looking forward to having them

All in all, it was a great day. Rafts are just the greatest things for float trips! Soooooooo much safer than canoes! [rant]I used to see families out with their very young children in canoes and just shake my head cuz as much time as I've spent on the river, and as well as I can swim, I KNOW how unpredictable and UNSAFE they can be. We actually had to rescue a young couple with two toddlers in their canoe once . . . and when we got them thru the really rough spot, and guided them most of the way around another fairly rough spot, something happened and they nearly tipped over anyway! . . . I just wanted to yell at those adults -- don't you know there are SAFER sports for your kids! [/rant] . . . owell. Thank goodness someone came up with the idea of using rafts.

The rivers around here are much too crowded on the weekends for rafting to be enjoyable for us, but during the week it can be quite pleasant. Today we only saw one other floater, and they were in a canoe. It was great!

My niece had worked at this rafting company years ago, so they gave her a really good price on the raft, making it so much more affordable, so tonight we're enjoying pizza! . . . it was good to just sit back and relax . . got a bit of a sunburn, but I used suntan lotion, so hopefully it won't be too bad. Maybe it will just tan -- I tan fairly well.

Leah,
This memory will stamp itself on your granddaughter's mind for the rest of their lifes. They will always remember what a grand time you had. Plus it was nice for them to get to know their cousin.

Sorry about those sunglasses.

Well what started as one root canal has turned into two. One on top and one on the bottom. My face is so sore from doing them two days in a row. My dentist is trying to get them finished before he leave for his misson trip to the Amazon so that they won't give me trouble while he's gone. I go back Thursday to finish one of them. He has me on antibiotics and lortab too.

My hubby and I joking yet not so much joking say we'll just hand over our tax refund to my dentist this year. After the root canal, they each have to be crowned as well.

My daughter went to get her teeth cleaned today and came home with a report of 4 cavities! That's what these psych meds do. They dry out your mouth and cause decay. You have to be extra cautious about dental hygiene when on happy pills. It is a very common side effect. My hubby has managed to escape it somehow, his teeth are fine. Lucky dog!

Leah & Maggie, Thank you for your comfort and your prayers. She died while I was holding her. ( The benefits of home vet care. ) I have to believe there are heavenly rewards for such loyal little dogs.
I am having her cremated and when I go . . . she is to be buried with me.

Hi Leah,

I have been better. I miss Little Bit.

Thursday as my husband was driving me to the dentist to work on a root canal, I began to have chest pains. My dentist sent me to the ER and they told me to see my cardiologist which I will do tomorrow (Mon).

I passed the cath test so don't know why I'm having chest pains. It was a very stressful week though.

I'm sure it was {{{{{{{{{{{Pengie}}}}}}}}}} . . . I hope this week will be much better, and that the pain of losing Little Bit will ease some, too. I know you must miss her terribly.

Hi Leah. I didn't get to church this weekend. I'd planned on going, but I got very little sleep as I was in so much pain during the night.

How are you doing?

Thanks Leah.

I have to admit I'm so tired of being sick and tired. I guess as bad as it is, I'm not as bad as others so shouldn't complain.
