{{{{{{{{TRISH}}}}}}}}}}}}}} . . . I'm sure you are. I hope you start feeling better soon. Garrett & I have had a good time today . . . We went out to water the flowers . . had to fill the bird bath, too. Have you ever known a little boy who could resist playing in the bird bath?? He never knew it was there . . until today. Oh Boy. What fun we had! . . . I had to run back in and grab the camera . . . Here are the photos . . . I'm not real familiar with this yet, so we'll see. Let me know if you can view them. Then, I had the hose on (sprayer) watering my plants, and he decided he wanted to walk into that and let it spray his face -- Man that kid loves the water!! That water is ice cold coming out of our 200+ foot deep well, but it didn't faze him a bit! Well, we had to come in, strip off, take a warm bath, and put on clean clothes. Actually, was just going to rinse him off as he'd fallen on his knees & got grass & sunflower seed hulls all over them, but he had other ideas. He planted his bottom onto the bottom of the tub and wasn't gonna move until he'd had some more play time. Such joy this child has been to me -- and such a joyful child! I've not had this much fun since my grandkids were this age :D (not that they aren't fun now, but it's a different kind of fun . . Garrett just delights in new things, and it's such a pleasure to watch him) Now 'waterboy' is down for a nap, tho not yet asleep. He was yawning all morning, so figure he's due for a good one. As soon as he goes to sleep, I need to get to sewing again. I got another whole outfit from a customer this morning to basically remake . . . need to take the sleeves out of the top, cut it down to size, then replace the sleeves, after they are cut to size, then take the waistband off the skirt, cut off 5 inches of the length of it (can't take it off at teh bottom cuz it's border print), and replace the waistband. I already have a very expensive silk, lined jacket that I have the sleeves out of and have to cut down to fit her. Was supposed to take it in this morning, but forgot it. Owell, I'll get this top apart then take them both at once. Also got a call yesterday from someone wanting their husbands pants taken in at the waist and hemmed. Then she said they were really too big in the legs, could I take some out of the legs too? I told her that would be quite expensive (at least $40), so she opted for the back waist and hemming. Today she called back saying they'd decided they wanted to do the legs too. That is basically going to require remaking the pants, just about. . . . Owell, it's work, and it's good experience. I guess (later in the day) 'Waterboy' never DID go to sleep! He played in bed for 1½ hours, then I finally laid down with him for over an hour, and kept turning him over on his tummy, telling him to go to sleep, trying valiantly to resist his charming, wrinkled-nosed grins, but even when I held the book I was reading between my face and his, and when I could resist meeting his eyes as he'd peek under it, he would just occupy himself with some other antics, effectively keeping himself (and me) awake . . . I finally gave up and got up, but left him in bed until I had time to take my shower. I guess that water really woke him up for the day. Sheesh!

Pengie, that is so cute about Oreo. I'm sure he is a big comfort (emphasis on big), even tho he's a bit heavy on the feet . . . . I hope they can get you a c-pap machine soon so you can rest better and wake with no pain. People I've talked to who have these say you get used to them really quickly, and feel so much better. Yes, Garrett certainl enjoyed himself immensely. I'm guessing our time outside in the future will be spent around the birdbath

Pengie, that's so cute that Oreo is trying to be a big comfort to you. Thankyou for your prayers. I have sleep apnoea too, and I stop breathing 30 times an hour. I couldn't stand the C-PAP machine, so don't wear one. I can't sleep with it on.

I found that the C-PAP helped more than my sleep. My asthma has improved too. I think it helps when I have respiratory infections too.

I tried using a C-PAP when I had a respiratory infection, and I just couldn't cope. That was just me though.

I honestly don't think I could get used to one easily . . . I've never been able to stand a sheet or blanket or anything over my face. Even when I was in nursing school and wearing masks to attend surgeries, etc., it was awful, and all I could do to leave it on. I think during the night I'd simply push it out of the way while I'm asleep -- that's if I was able to force myself to leave it on long enough to go to sleep. We had our family reunion yesterday. It was nice -- very nice since our daughter & her family surprised us by showing up Friday night! They wanted to go to the reunion with us and bring her dad his father's day gift. We all went together and bought him a Dewalt high impact drill to replace the one I got him 15 years ago, and which is pretty worn out now. He's very pleased with it. And we're all very pleased cuz it's terribly hard to get him something he really likes -- he doesn't like us spending on him . . but this was a good gift for him. I skipped church this morning . . . just felt like I wanted to be here with Bill, and I was really tired from yesterday anyway. The kids didn't leave until about 10:00 last night. In a while we're supposed to go to lunch with a sister & her hubby.

Hey Ron, good to see you in here! This thread has been quiet this week. Pengie, I truly hope you are doing ok. Not like you to not post for several days unless you can't . .. {{{{{{{Trish}}}}}}}}} I read about your mother and the beautiful song you posted . . . I wish you had more good memories of your mother to help you thru the hard times. Zondie, Zondie . . Wherefore art thou, Zondie?? . . . we are missing your smiling face around here! Please come home! We've been having great weather this week, and I got a bunch of yard work done today. I waited until 6:00, after Garrett left, then changed into old clothes and got started. First I trimmed the honeysuckle that was threatening to block the pathway under the trellis; then trimmed the ivy that was threatening to take over the sidewalk; then pulled all the Virginia creeper from the trellis and out of the ivy bed because it was being eaten alive by a pesty bug. After that I pulled weeds around the rock garden under the arbor, and in & around my flower bed. I did all this either bending over or on my knees. I was barely able to stand or walk or breathe after all this, but was very determined to make the best of my time out there and the great cool weather (tho I felt anything but cool by then!), so took our long-handled shears and trimmed the redbud trees that were hanging so low they were brushing our vehicles as we drove down our circle drive. There were a lot of dead limbs, and I had a tough time pulling them out of the trees. By the time I finished all that, I really was barely able to get to the house and in the shower. I wouldn't dared have sat down first or I'd never have gotten up . . . I've got a big mess to clean up outside -- ivy & honeysuckle all over in the front, weeds around the flower beds, and limbs --some huge limbs -- out by the driveway. I'm so glad to get all this done. I've been so far behind on my yard work, what with all the rain & hot weather we've been having and being so busy with the remodeling. Now I'm truly ready for bed. It seems like it's been a long day. I was so tired starting out this morning -- oh! When I got back from gym I discovered my first cup of coffee still sitting here on the computer desk with only a couple of sips out of it . . no wonder I was tired!

{{{{{{{{Pengie}}}}}}}}}}} . . . I'm so sorry Little Bit's passing has been so hard on you. It would help if you felt better so you could get out and do something with a friend. Maybe now that your neighbor has mowed your yard (what a nice neighbor!) you could get out and take Oreo for a walk down that garden path. I'm sure he'd love that. I hope the C-Pap fitting goes ok and you can get used to it easily. And yes, regarding your post in Maggie's thread, I DO think you should be able to pick out the color of that car! . . . tell your dentist it's all been discussed and agreed upon I'm thinking about going outside and cleaning up at least part of my mess. I'm just not up to picking up the heavy limbs & such, but I thought I could sweep off the sidewalk and rake up all that weeks & stuff from that. My mind is telling me I can do that. I'm afraid my body has different notions. We'll see who wins

Hi {{{{{{{{{{{{{{TRISH}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} . . . . thanks for the hug! I actually did get out there yesterday morning and cleaned up part of my mess -- well, at least got it swept off the sidewalk, and even weeded around the bricks in the front stoop and cleaned that up. It still has to be picked up out of the yard, I'm afraid. But today Garrett & I have had other things to do. We went to the county seat today to get my birth certificate, since I now need that to renew my driver's license which are due on my birthday. Also had to get John's since he seems to have misplaced his. Then, while we were in this quaint little town right near where I grew up I decided we'd make the most of the day and go to the beautiful littel park with the spring-fed duck pond. The ducks were all over the place, and we nearly stepped on an egg one of them had lalid right out in the middle of the park. It was still warm, so tho I let Garrett pick it up and hold it a minute, I then placed it back where I found it. I should have taken it across teh pond and put it in one of their nests, but I couldn't manage that with GArrett. After that, we went to have ice cream and ran into Bill working on the juke box there, so we got to say hi to him. Garrett draws attention whereever he goes . . he's got the prettiest eyes & eyelashes, and is always sporting a big smile, so ppl just want to talk with him. When we finally got back to town, around 11:00, I stopped at the gym, changed clothes and let Garrett play in the play room for about 30 minutes or so while I did a short workout. When I finally got home he was exhausted, so I changed him and put him right to bed. There was very little playing from him this time before he fell fast asleep. Then I decided to join him . . now I'm somewhat refreshed and will try to do a little sewing while he's sleeping.

Sounds like a fantastic day that you had with Garrett, Leah. Ice cream . . . that sounds good too! I am going to get a cpap, but have to wait a week for the swelling to go down in my face from getting my teeth pulled. Then after 2-3 weeks I have to do another sleep study, this time with my machine. Oh joy, more glue to wash out of my hair . My cat, Reesie, has been taking to sitting in my lap more since Little Bit died. It's odd, she never was much of a lapcat before, but lately just curls right up and makes herself comfortable. I guess I'm blessed with some good pets. God sent the right ones for me. They all seem to know how to comfort me. Little Bit's urn is complete now. I got the brass plate engraved and it is on top of her oak urn. Now all I need to do is write out directives that include her and all will be done. Never thought I'd be the type to want a dog buried with me, but then again, never thought a dog could be such a friend. I still want my small Bible put in my hands, though. That comes first. Not that I plan on going anytime soon!

Hello Leah and friends! I've sure missed being on here with all you guys! So much has happened lately. I'll try to fill you in without it getting to lengthy. I'll start with...mom's been in the hospital (pneumonia), now she's back in a nursing home for physical therapy (due to weakness). I have a BIL (on my husband's side); whose on his death bed, my best friend's mother; just had knee replacement surgery and is still in the hospital, but what has devastated me the most is; one of the choir members on our Praise Team was killed in a motorcycle accident. She and her husband (Greg) was hit by a vehicle that pulled out into their path. He's still on life support with all four limbs broken and a head injury. Please pray for him. They have two grown children in their 30's I think. I'm not sure if Greg even knows that his wife has gone on to be with the Lord. It's been hard to get information on his welfare, cause they were both flown out of state, from the accident scene. I realize that none of us has a promise of tomorrow, but somehow I can't get Sheila off my mind. I told my sister, that it might be God's way of reminding me to pray for Greg more. I miss her cheerful smile and her lovely singing voice. She was dear to my heart. And my heart is aching for her children who now awaits the outcome of their dad. Sincere prayer, is definitely needed! I've read over the posts and Leah, I'd love to see more pics of precious little Garrett! He looks like a treasure! Just seeing him and putting a face with a name; made me smile. He's soooo cute!!! Pengie, you're going through a lot sis. I've not stopped praying for you. I hated to hear the news about Little Bit. But at least all her suffering is over now. My mom's dog (17 yrs. old) has died, and my brother hasn't told her yet. I don't know when will be a good time to tell her (cause the nurse said it could 'set her back'), but she definitely needs to be told...sometime. It'll be hard for mom to hear the news, especially coz she wasn't with him at his passing. I thank God for creating such special little critters who've brought such joy to our lives! Try to keep your chin up sis, your daughters' learning more about faith through you. God is 'GOOD' all the time!!! And you're proving this to her every day, with the example of courage you display. You're a true jewel, Pengie!

Thanks, Trish! I hope you had a good weekend, and are feeling better this morning. Hey there, Mike! Zondie, it's so good to hear from you! But my, you've had your plate full lately!! I'm so sorry to hear of your friends' accident . . I will remember Greg in prayer, also your mom and BIL. You are so right, we just don't know from one day to the next. I'd appreciate prayer for a friend of mine, Janet, who has been going thru a divorce for the last year, is still not thru it, seems to have a really lousy lawyer, and now is not making good decisions and is becoming very depressed. I've had a busy weekend, but it was good with my friend from Kansas City here. I picked her up at the train stationde it to church this time, and were both so glad we'd gone. I think both of us needed badly to hear the message Pastor gave. It was very good -- "What Does God Think of Me?" . . . . it was a strong reminder of how, tho the struggles & defeats of this world can bring us down and start us on a roller-coaster of negative feelings about ourselves, God knows we have worth . . enough worth that he sent His son to die for us, and has made a special place in His kingdom for us. It was much deeper than what that states, and Pastor always uses excerpts from his own life to illustrate his messages, which add depth and meaning to them, but that's the gist of it. And it's a series of messages he's planning to teach. He wasn't sure if he'd continue it last night or next Sunday. I kinda hope it will be next Sunday because I didnt' make it back from the train station in time for church last night, and I really want -- need! -- to hear these. I guess I'll never understand how Satan can get his nasty tentacles in a faith-believing, spirit-filled Christian so easily, but he sure can. And it's so insidious we seldom realize it's him working until it's we're far away from where we need to be . . . anyway, it was a wake-up call for me, and I know I must get a better grip on my spiritual life -- discipline, discipline, discipline! . . . seriously, I do know that is what it takes.

Thanks for remembering Greg and the children in your prayers Leah. And yes, I'll be praying for your friend, Janet. My best friend went through a l-o-n-g divorce also. So, as a witness to her declining health and depression; I certainly know that Janet needs our prayer. I've heard that the death of a spouse is easier to deal with. Thank God, I don't know how either one of the situations are, to have to face. My heart goes out to her. Thanks too, for sharing what your Pastor preached on Sunday. We all can use a good 'wake up call', 'eye opener', 'toe stomping', message from time to time! It lifted me up just reading about it! I'd love to get to attend the rest of his series on "What does God think of me". We all should be asking ourselves this question; everyday! I know I'm guilty of it, but; I never want to intentionally disappoint my Heavenly Father.

Yes, Zondie, it was a message I'd heard and responded to many times before, but I guess I was in real need of hearing it again. And there was simply no negativism in it . . it was all about how He values us, believes -- Knows! we have worth, and that we needed to realize that also. I am trying hard to get back into a daily Bible reading/study. Today, I continued where I'd left off in my Chronological, One Year Bible. Then I started studying some lessons out of our Sunday School literature. I don't attend SS because I'm in the office doing the books, but I usually pick up one of the study guides. The thing is, I seldom read or study it. I am going to try to change that. The lesson I read this morning was about Moses, and I really got something out of it. One of the things I highlighted in it was this: "God's timetable for blessing people can be altered by human diobedience. Israel proved this repeatedly. A 2 year journey to Canaan's border stretched another 38 years becasue of their rebellion." Made me stop & wonder how much I've slowed God down by my disobedience . . . especially when it continued with .. "You have an incredible advantage not available to God's people more than 3,000 years ago. . . ." I didn't get much else accomplished today, tho finally did make it to the gym. I keep putting my sewing off

quote:
"You have an incredible advantage not available to God's people more than 3,000 years ago. . . ." That's something to ponder and study on in itself! We're so, so blessed! The story of Moses and the Israelites impressed me so much the first time I read it, that I actually wrote a song about it. That was years ago and I still am humbled every time I read or review it. Good teaching for complainers!

Zondie, I'd love to hear or even read that song . . do you still have it? Feel free to post it in here if you do. Garrett's daddy just called to say his grandma is keeping him this week to let the daddy & gf settle in with their new baby . . . I fully expected that, so it was no surprise. This means I have a week to catch up on my sewing. Right now I've started sweeping and mopping floors, so I'll finish that, do my Bible study then get right to the sewing room.

((((((((((((((((((ZONDIE)))))))))))))))))))))) Wow, so much to deal with. Hi Leah. Does Garrett have a little brother or sister? How is he with them? How's the sewing going? I went to the gym, but didn't last long. My blood pressure dropped and I just about passed out.
