What does it taste like? Be honest!

It tastes like fried turtle, of course!! Either that or chicken.

It actually has several differet flavors . . . some pieces taste like frog legs, some taste more like chicken and some have a fishy taste. I've heard it has the flavors of 7 different meats, but I've only tasted those.

Thanks, but no thanks. I at least can eat chicken and KNOW that it's chicken...I heard that frog legs are nasty too!

My step-dad always made turtle soup. He said it does have 7 different taste's in the meat. I could never bring myself to eat it tho. But them turtle's sure did get mean, and he would have to cut off the heads, and "drain" them for a day, before cutting into them. Mom even made ashtrays out of the shells. I stayed away when he was killing them tho.

BTW...another GREAT story Leah

I sincerely doubt it, Bill, since I've seen people eat turtle thinking it was chicken -- more than once!

Maggie, I just saw this . . ROFLOL!! . . . . . just how big are those turtles anyway

J/K . . . no, I would never ever bother anybody's pet ANYthing! . . . . . I get all bent outta shape when anyone even JOKES about hunting squirrels on my property . . . not that they couldn't get a real mess of them, but . . we FEED them! No Way would I let someone kill something I lured into my yard with food . . . . well, maybe a worm or a snake or somethin' . . . but not a real pet! Uh-uh -- not me!

Hi Leah!

I'm on your side!!

I have a bunch of animals in my yard that I feed.

If someone would come in and kill them....or try to...got two shepards......they had better pray....cause they wouldn't be sitting right for a few months and they would be missing a gun.......for awhile.

Hey Brian . . good to see ya!

Well, ya know, it's not like we are needing food nowadays, or I am sure I would feel differently. But, as I said, Daddy would have a FIT if he saw me feeding all these squirrels in my backyard and never gettin' the gun out

How's it going with ya?

Daddy didn't come over with his gun did he?

Waiting to hear some more of your life's stories!

Hi Trish & Brian! . . so glad you're enjoying the stories -- I sure am enjoying writing and reliving them

I've had company all weekend and the family reunion yesterday, so not any time to be on here. But, the good news is I'm off all week, so should be able to get some more written. Right now I'm very tired so am off to bed -- catch you later
