It wasn't really a concert, but I got to see the Booth Brothers sing 2 songs at First Baptist of Atlanta yesterday morning. They sang "I've Been Changed" and "His Grace is Sufficient." Really nice job. Ronnie's bride and Mosie Lister were there. And Charles Stanley's sermon was super, too.

Both Sat & Sunday were great! Sat was a sold out Gainesville Mtn Center - I love hearing a SGM concert sold out! Kingsmen started it off and they were terrific! I love the band - Nick, Grant and Brandon are just as nice as they are talented! And Jeremy is tremendous - the group has the TRUE Kingsmen sound!

And last night was a great church service - thanks to Daniel and Ms. Judy we found the correct church. Phillip came up before the service - he had the name and town right but had also give me directions that were WAY off!! He laughed and said 'I'm glad you checked and didn't listen to me'.

I did see the Greene's on Friday night. They did a great concert with several comming to know the Lord at the end. All of the money they were receiving this week-end was to go to Tim for medical use. He has no insurance and has to pay for medical services and all of his medication himself. People seamed to be in a good mood and were giving from the heart.

How were the Kingdom Heirs? I haven't heard them live in over a year now.....

They did a good job, I was with some friends outside during part of their set. Adam was still with them and the crowd loved them!

Seaton -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (1/22/2007 10:35:08 AM)

DeeAnn,
On a side note, I received my February Singing News on Saturday, good job on your article regarding the top 5 pianists of 2006.

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (1/22/2007 11:02:07 AM)

Thank you so much, that was a fun article to do, those guys are NUTS!!! It was originally a bit longer - Danny (Jones) told me they had to cut from the original size they asked for because of some other additions - but they edited keeping all the major points the guys made!

I think I have one coming up in the May issue - I'm awaiting details of what they are looking for!

Seaton -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (1/29/2007 8:21:36 AM)

Attended two great concerts this weekend. On Friday 1/26/07 I went to see Triumphant Quartet in Winston-Salem, NC. They were phenominal. I was told the church seats 500 and the place was packed. The highlights of the evening were closing the first set with He Is and David Sutton commanding his performance of I Bring You Forgiveness. They solidified to me why they are one of the best quartets on the circuit today!

Then on Sunday 1/28/07 I saw Karen Peck & New River. Again, the church was packed but this was a smaller church that probably sat around 200. They were great. They sang a new song that will be featured on their new album. The song, Last Night, has the potential to be another big hit for the group. Karen mentioned it was to be the first single. There is nothing like waking up on a Monday morning after a weekend of enjoying great Southern Gospel Music live!

Amen, brother!!! I wish I had it every weekend. I didn't get to see any live SG this weekend, but on Feb. 3, I'll either see BF&A (drive about 50 or so miles) or see the Diplomats (about 10 or so miles). I may stick with BF&A because I'll probably see the Diplomats with Gold City on Feb. 9th. That's after I see Triumphant in Alabama on Feb. 8th. And Mercy's Mark on Feb. 11th!!! YEAH!!!!!

MsJudy -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (1/29/2007 9:23:10 AM)

Saw the K-men on te 21st, Triumphant on the 25th, Gold City & Old Paths on the 26th!! Was supposed to go see KP&NR on Sat and Kirk Talley on Sun, but had some family sickness and couldn't go.

I don't know why I have such a problem keeping this one concert straight!!! Just call it a senior moment, over and over and over. . . . . .

JimC -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (1/29/2007 12:08:56 PM)

I can relate.

It's easy to do when you have several concerts in a few days.

I've actually been backing out of the garage, and had to go back in the house and check to make sure I was headed to the right concert.

Sheeeesh.

LestersFan -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (1/29/2007 1:12:30 PM)

Saturday the 27th I went to see The Booth Brothers. It was an absolute blast. Michael was feeling a bit under the weather but was still able to sing and entertain as much as he always does. I really wanted to get a picture with them but due to Michael's illness he went straight to the bus after the concert. I will just have to wait until I see them again. My next planned concert is Gold City and The Kingsmen on Feb 23rd.

hinsonfan -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (1/29/2007 5:45:01 PM)

MissGizmo -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (2/3/2007 1:04:26 PM)

I was able to see the Talley Trio last night. All I can say about them is that they keep getting better and better every time I hear them. A very God filled service took place with an alter call given at the end. God came to the church along with the people. You could feel the love among everyone. I hope they keep traveling for many more years to come.[;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)]

threepartharmony -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (2/3/2007 4:33:16 PM)

MsJudy -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (2/3/2007 9:16:45 PM)

[:(] I'm having withdrawels. Haven't seen anyone since Gold City. Got a family member with an Anuerysm on the brain and is having surgery Wednesday, so I have to stick kinda close to home for a bit.

I hope everything goes well for your family member, Ms. Judy.

Thanks, the updates will be on my board in the prayer section. I'll be calling one of the other Admins, so they'll post for me if I can't.

MTTROCKS -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (2/5/2007 4:49:41 AM)

I wont to go to a concert....[:D]

DeeAnnBailey -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (2/5/2007 8:02:46 AM)

Saw the Dixie Melody Boys last night, had planned to see the Hoppers on Friday but they had sold out over a week before the concert and we didn't get to go! The DMB has some of the tightest harmony they have had in some time!!!

They have their 3 new projects, haven't had a chance to listen yet (was listening to the super bowl on the way home) but I'm looking forward to it!

They sang several songs from them last night, 'Beautiful Isle of Somewhere' featured some GREAT harmony! Ed did a great job on 'Peace in the Valley' and I've always love 'Victory Road'!

OLDMOM -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (2/5/2007 8:53:08 AM)

I had the honor to hear Legacy 5 in concert yesterday afternoon and despite the cold and the wind, it was an awesome afternoon. Frank was under the weather but did manage to last the entire time. What a blessing!

Rebecca11368 -> RE: What Recent Concerts Have You Attended? (2/5/2007 9:36:48 AM)

I saw Brian Free and Assurance Saturday night at First Baptist in Snellville, Ga. I always arrive early because I like to sit down front at a concert. I arrives at 5:30 pm b/c SINGING NEWS said the concert satrted at 6:30 pm. It didn't start til 7 pm.Soooooo,,,,,
I enjoyed the man who opened for them *(John Jones, a local artist) but I would have loved to just hear more of BF & A. They took an intermission and Mr. Jones was coing back to sing 3 more songs and THEN turn it over to BF&A, it was already 9:30, and I had an hour to drive home. SAD. I left w/o seeing the second half. I guess I just enjoy hearing the 'main artist'. After all, that's why I came in the first place!!
