I saw Mercy's Well tonight! For all the guys to be under the weather they did a fantastic job! If you hadn't talked to them you wouldn't have known. It was just so great to see them again. I get a blessing everytime. If you haven't seen or heard this group then my suggestion is that you need to!

We have just attended another Soul’d Out Quartet concert in Kentucky. There is no way you can attend their concerts without receiving a blessing. I love all of the songs---however--- if you need soft and inspiring, they have it. If you need toe tapping, hand clapping, they have it. We had a great time just enjoying the singing and praising and of course the fellowship with the entire group. This is a short video from the concert. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0bCzWjA-Ws

I saw Legacy Five, Triumphant Quartet and Brian Free & Assurance in the past 3 weeks. We are planning on seeing the Inspirations next week, too.

Thanks! I've listened to Southern Gospel for over 11 years (since I was 10), and got saved listening to the Cathedrals (more specifically, Mark Trammell), but I just subscribed to the Singing News and decided to join the forums. I read through them a lot, but never joined in before!

Greetings from sunny Myrtle Beach SC. Singing in the Sun is underway and it has been great. Here is a quick rundown of what has occurred so far. A quick recap of Wednesday 4/23/08 in order of appearance. *Crist Family - I have seen this group before. The many group members does offer variety and vocal make-ups. They still don't have that signature song to really expand their fan base. *Greater Vision - They did their normal fare as far as song selection. Gerald decided to close their set with the power ballad "Til The Storm Passes By". *Perrys - They did a fine job. With the 25-30 minute set each group had, just about everybody did their bread and butter songs. They followed one of my least favorite songs, "His Name Was John" with one of my favorite songs "He Will Hide Me" (Their big powerhouse closer). "I Know It Was The Blood" was also a highlight. *Message, then break. *Dove Brothers - The Dove Brothers started the second half and the final two acts were the best of the evening. The Doves decided to showcase new songs "I've Still Got A Feeling", "You Don't Know God's Love" and "You Would Think He Would Learn" (all great choices). They closed their set with their mega hit "I Can Pray". *Booth Brothers - By far the best set of the night. This group is in their own stratosphere. They had the crowd in the palm of their hands their entire 30 minute set. From the opening "Look For Me At Jesus Feet" to the closing "He Saw It All", the crowd loved every minute of it. The best song of the entire evening was a new song featuring Michael from the new album titled "Secret Place" (this could be a mega song!!).

What a pleasant surprise tonight! I went to see the Chuck Wagon Gang and it was very, very nice. I had seen this group once on the Tony Peace Gospel Hour on a local Atlanta TV station and I knew they were good. They sang "old" songs with only a guitar for accompaniment. Y'all that know me know that I really like lots of music and accompaniment, but this was a really nice change. No glitz or glamour or flashy showmanship..... just down-to-earth people with great voices and hearts, singing wonderful old songs. They definitely have a unique style. Very, very enjoyable. Regardless of the group and/or style that you normally prefer, this is a group that you should make an extra effort to go see if they are ever in your area. At intermission Dinana, JimC and I got to meet Penny, who sings alto. What a lovely young woman! She said that she occasionally reads the forums, and she promised she'd try to get on sometime and "talk" to us! Sure would love to have her around! Dinana took pix and videos and I'm sure she'll write a better review and post some links for us.

When Penny found out that Dinana is a big Triumphant fan, she called Eric Bennett's personal cell phone, and when she got his voicemail, she let Dinana leave Eric a message. Wasn't that nice??? And when we were leaving, she shouted across the lobby to me....."Goodbye, GVfan!" Yep, she's a real sweetie!

being on CQ duty and having my laptop here I "saw-err-played" this lineup or in process of it actually. Now this is a dream concert. 1. leading off is Warming Up by McGruder's Come Fly cd. wow. what a warm up song. PURE Church. 2. moving in to take vocals is the Paynes singing Who But God. 3. jumping up to grab the mic next is Lauren Talley singing I've Got a Song and boy does she. 4. squeezing her off the stage is The Kingsmen sing ing that anthem I'd Rather Be An Old TIme Christian. 5. Legacy 5 keeps it fast with Temporary Tomb. 6 and 7. Gold City squeaks a two-fer out with the old songs In My Robe Of White and I Think I'll Read It Again. 8. pushing Gold City off the stage is Three Bridges so they can do Have You Heard The News. 9. who could say no to the Greene's when they offered to sing They'll Never Crucify Him Again. 10 and 11. The Crabb Family with Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir gets into the Gospel Groove with a couple gems. Greater Is He and then Somethin's Goin' On In The Graveyard. 12. Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir left the stage so Jason could get everyone just fired up with Ain't No Grave with rest of the Crabb Family. 13-16. Bishops get into the stage life with these gems. Blind Bartimaeus, I'll Live Again, and Lazarus Come Forth. 17. Greater Vision melts hearts with the song Just Wait Til He Stands Up. 18. Dixie Melody Boys end the show with Antioch Church Choir. yep. a few of my fave songs live I have on my laptop

And not only that, but they couldn't have found anybody better to take Shaye's place. She's a perfect fit, in personality AND vocal ability.
