Per Dinana's suggestion, I've also posted this commentary on last night here: Hey guys, I saw the Kingsmen last night! They were great! I felt funny though cause half the night i had my cellphone up taking videos for Josh. I figured some of the geezers around me were ticked at the very sight of a phone, but they'll get over it. I bought the new Kingsmen package which included the new cd "When God Ran." I already had the album though via digital download, so I'm reselling this one to anyone interested! If no one wants it (for a better price than Springside) I'll be listing it on eBay. The reason I bought the package was for the 2 new Kingsmen dvds - I think they'll be great! I got to talk to Bryan a few minutes after the concert and I told him that I was getting videos for Josh on my cell. He thought it was funny. He said to tell you "Hi," Josh. It was funny cause I told him I was on the SN forums and right off he said, "Are you youngartist?" I was like, "uh, yeeeaa...how in the world did you guess?" He said because I had "Gospel singer hair." LOL It made my night to chat with him, and I think the Kingsmen sounded (HONESTLY) better than I've ever heard them vocally. I am eagerly anticipating the return of their band (Brandon ran sound), but once they have that band again they'll be unstoppable. They're fantastic, and I think the recent changes only made the group go UP! Great evening. Songs included these and others: "Good Good God," "Beautiful Home," "Healing Stream," "When I Wake Up," "The Word," "Gospel Road," "Oh What A Savior," "My Past Has Passed," "Fight To The Finish," and my favorite, "When God Ran."

I've gotta upgrade my phone before I try to get a video in a text message! But that info is good to know before I do go to get a new phone. Thanks, Tyler!

We saw Triumphant Quartet and The Talleys last night in Bluefield, WV. It was only suppose to be a 4 hour trip, but it took us 5 thanks to my mom haha. She decided she knew a better way then the GPS was saying so we went her way and it took us an hour longer! Needless to say we listened to the GPS coming home and got in about 3am. It was an awesome show. At the end they brought a 3 year old boy up for Testify. Before the show he told Lauren that he sings Testify, so they brought him up on stage. It wasnt long before he was done..handed the mic to Debra and walked right off the stage. lol it was funny. I have to say God was watching us going down there though. Right before we hit Bluefield we stopped at a stop light. It was the other traffics turn to go and this gas truck came up behind me and got over in the other lane and went right through the red light. I was sitting there a good 30 seconds and saw him in my mirror I thought he's going way to fast to stop whats he going to do?! He just ran the light and everyone slammed on their breaks and this one lady about had a heart attach from it. If those people didnt hesitate to go there would have been a horrible horrible accident and with us being in front and it being a gas truck we could have easily been involved because the gas truck would have exploded. Buy a Canon a570IS digital camera for around $150 and the videos that it takes are tremendous. Why waste you time with the cell phone. It also takes some of the best still pics I have ever seen from even much higher priced cameras.

Saw Gold City last night and they definitely 'rocked the house'. It was standing room only in a auditorium that would seat around 1000. I got there late and was at the back but it was still a great concert! At the very beginning I was standing at the back and there were two young men back there who were really enjoying the concert - they knew every word of every song GC sang. The more I hear the current group the more I enjoy them. I look forward to seeing them several times in June!!! After the concert I spent time talking to several of the guys. Josh is a hoot!! Kyle is such a nice guy (even if I do think he was trying to trip me going out the door!). I got to spend some time talking with Danny, it's funny I remember the first time I saw this young man. He and Doug were playing in a field in Chattanooga TN - GC was singing in that field on the back of a flat bed truck. Several of us were upset because we found out they had killed a snake just before the concert started. We were afraid there were more snakes around - Danny and Doug were afraid there weren't more snakes - they wanted to find one!! He has grown into a remarkable young man who is very grounded in his faith and has such a great outlook. I hope that I get to enjoy many more GC concerts!

Thanks for the information...I heard that Dottie's tribute would be aired this past Wednesday and it never showed so I wondered if the dates were mixed up with the person I heard it from. Thanks!!!

I guess it's about time for me to get my concert notes written up from Thursday and Friday! I had such a good time at both concerts --- Greater Vision on Thursday and Triumphant Quartet on Friday. Here's my review of the GV concert: Greater Vision's concert on Thursday night was so good! Of course, with Jason leaving in August, we know we've got to enjoy hearing him while we can, and it seemed to me like he was featured a little more than usual and they did several of the songs that are now on the 13-song album they put together of Jason's most popular songs over the last 13 years. By the way, Missy Waldroup was also there and is looking great! I enjoyed getting to talk with Roy Webb at the end of the concert. He was traveling and hanging out with GV this weekend but did not perform. Here's what they sang: Tell Me the Story of Jesus --- How appropriate to start with this song! They always do such a good job on this slow, pretty song. As I Am He'd Still Been God We Are So Blessed God Will Pass By --- This is Donna's favorite and is a great song! I did get a video of it that was better than my previous attempt in poor lighting. You can see the video HERE You Can - featuring Jason! Redeemed Medley I Know He Heard My Prayer My Name is Lazarus --- I just can't help it - this is my favorite GV song!! Faces It Means Just What It Says He's Still Waiting by the Well - featuring Jason Far Beyond the Starry Sky --- Jason's mother-in-law, Sandy Payton, came to the stage and played the keyboard for this song. She's a very talented musician and you could tell that they were all having a good time doing this together. Here's the video Too Much to Gain to Lose --- this was a tribute to Dottie Rambo and was very touching. Video God Wants to Hear You Sing --- this is my second favorite GV song. I was happy they sang this one tonight. It's also features Jason and is on the new CD. I put together a video medley with several of the songs HERE.

Think you're still a little behind with your concert posts. I know you saw Triumphant and I think you went somewhere else. Will have to wait until we get back from Church to check out the videos.

It takes a while to get these done, Bobby!! Here are my thoughts on the Triumphant Quartet concert on Friday in Augusta, Georgia. This concert was at Pine View Baptist Church. They have a brand new church building and it was lovely. They have friendly folks there, too! The host church's MOM is Rick Busby - former member of the Florida Boys and Heaven Bound. The concert was being put on as a benefit for the local southern gospel radio station - 102.7 WGUS. Here's what was sung: Feelin' Mighty Fine - by Rick Busby to open the concert. You Gotta Love It Don't Let the Sandals Fool Ya Welcome to Heaven - this is the first time I've seen this one performed. It's from the new "Intermission" album and Clayton is featured on it. Here's the video I got of the song. Forgave Me, Saved Me, Raised Me Goodbye, World, Goodbye For God So Loved - also from the new CD - featuring David Sutton. Video He Loves Me - featuring Eric Bennett who does such a fabulous job on this song! Vldeo Sunday Meeting Medley - this crowd was great on the Daddy sang bass, Mama sang tenor part!! The Old White Flag Jeff played Last Date and the Hallelujah Chorus He Is during the love offering, Rick Busby sang Leave a Blessng As You Pass My Way they did several requests during the last part of the program: Long Black Train Someday We Know Sinner's Plea (Jeff) I Wish It Would Rain - Video When He Was on the Cross, I Was on His Mind - with Rick Busby - Video The Great I Am Still Is Amazing Grace - David on harmonica and Jeff on keyboard - and then the congregation sang the 1st and 4th verses. Terrible Time Down There

Just got in from Calhoun where the Diplomats sang. And did they sing. That place was anointed with the Holy Spirit. The members of the Church needs your prayers. The wife of a Deacon was killed in an auto accident this weekend. Their pastor Bro. David Ray is in serious condition and undergoing test to try to determine exactly what is wrong and what has caused his problems. For sometime he has not been able to preach and just seems to be getting worse as the days goes by. He is going to Emory Hospital for some test shortly. This was the first time the Diplomats had sang at that Church and I'm certain that they will be invited back. Rita did an outstand job heard someone say she would give Vestal a run for her money. She sang several songs tonight. Looking forward to their upcoming homecoming June 5 -6 -7.

Saw Driven tonight and I really enjoy this young men! Will's beautiful wife Mindy was with them and she is a precious young lady. Will got a sure winner with her! The group does a good mixture of old and new songs, slow and fast, they present the gospel in every concert and you are sure to be blessed by their music and their testimony!

Hubby had to be at work at 6am today! Glad to hear it was such a wonderful concert (how can it NOT be when the Diplomats are there!!). And I'll definitely be praying for the needs at Newtown.

Aaron Ok I'm really slow !!! in my signature I made reference to Shannon Smith has been replace. I was referring to the Avatar. Shannon has been replaced by Santa. Sorry. Shannon is very much with The Imperials. When you saw them in concert were they wearing black shirts with the Imperials logo?? Just wondering. quote:

ORIGINAL: Smokymtnsanta Mull Concert: Crist Family impress me more each time I see them. 7 singers, all family except the Bass singer. And the way they switch off singing with different people, I don't see how they remember who is singing when. And Mrs. Lisa is a lurker here on the forums. Brian Free and Assurance did great. First time to see them with Jeremy singing Bass. Mark Trammell did as expected. GREAT. Mark sang "How Great Thou Art". Beautiful. Eric continues to impress and Dustin really goes well with the group. Known him for years. And he sounds better than ever. Greater Vision. What can be said about them that has not been said before. Just always top notch performance. They will surely miss Jason but they God is in the move. And Gerald sang a song that Mrs. Mull asked him to sing and did not miss a note as this was a Dottie rambo song they uusally do not sing. Nobody could have known what would happen overnight, but knowing what we know now, that must have been a moment to remember. So it's true? Hubby heard about it this morning, but I haven't found any online news report about it yet. BOONE, NC(Singing News) - Singing News has confirmed that legendary singer/songwriter Dottie Rambo was killed in an early morning bus accident. Early reports indicate that the accident was weather-related, and that several other passengers aboard the bus were also injured. The family was notified early this morning that the accident happened near Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Manager Larry Ferguson is still unconscious and has two broken legs. Updated Information from Missouri authorities: At 2:19 a.m.,Missouri State Troopers responded to the accident that took place on I-44, two miles east of Mt. Vernon, Missouri. According to the Troopers' report, the 1997 Prevost Dottie was traveling aboard ran off the roadway, struck the guard rail and an embankment. Dottie was pronounced dead at the scene by Lawrence County (Mo.) Coroner Don Lakin at 4:20 a.m. Aboard the bus were Dottie's product manager Christopher Barnes, Larry & Judy Ferguson, their children Pierce and Christian, and driver Ronnie Meadows. Funeral arrangements are pending. More information will be posted as it becomes available. © 2008 Singing News
