Well I went to an awesome concert tonight. King's Cause, Mercy's Well, Donna Beauvais, and Julian Saverance. It was wonderful. I always love seeing the guys. Meeting Donna though was incredibly wonderful! It was truly a blessing. I'm so glad I went.

I went to an awesome concert tonight as well! The fabulous Dove Brothers were at my church and they were great! Sang several of the songs from the Life CD, I Can Pray, Didn't It Rain, Get away Jordan which they did three time, Look for me at Jesus Feet and many many more. They just get better and better! What a great group of guys! Wish you all could have been there! God bless!

A bunch of my family and friends were blessed with a Three Bridges concert at Living Word Church in Greenville, Tx. Saturday night. Scott Johnson brought the house down with "YESTERDAY". Of course, they did "Feel a little song coming on" and "Have ya'll heard the news?" Two of my personal favorites. The P&W team from the church did a wonderful job of opening and during the love offering time. The 2 hour concert was time well spent.

We traveled to Indiana this past weekend to hear Soul'd Out Quartet. As always we left with lifted spirits and a real joy in our hearts. The songs written by Matt Rankin are just terrific. Folks, we had church. It was great. We are already looking forward to next time. I put 2 videos on youtube from the concerts. Our very own hogfan (Tanner) and the new pianist (Michael Howard) are the featured artists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAE3Fpi-XqU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_eFRKZHnlg

I saw The Old Paths yesterday in Marietta. Words really fail me when I try to describe how GREAT they are. It's no wonder God continues to bless this annointed group of guys. If you ever have a chance to see The Old Paths, please DO. They will bless your heart.

I had the privilege to see the Hoppers on Saturday 5/31/08 in Lincolnton NC. They turned in another great performance. They seemed to be in a fun mood because they were all cutting up. Connie had herself and the entire crowd in stitches. They performed for over two hours and gave the crowd all their big songs ("Shoutin Time", "Jerusalem", "Yes I Am", "Marriage Supper Of The Lamb", "I've Come Too Far", "I'm Just Waiting For My Ride"). It was also nice to hear "Let The Redeemed Say So", "He Erased It", "When He Comes Down", "The Dove", "Living Water", "Yahweh" and "What A Lovely Name". Kim also talked about being able to sing "The Holy Hills Of Heaven" at Dottie Rambo's funeral. Kim then sang a song from her new solo album called "He Gave The World The Gospel" (not sure if that is the correct title). The song is amazing. It was written by Paula Stefanovich (who wrote "Jerusalem" and "Yahweh") and the crowd overwhelming gave a nod of approval with a standing ovation. I have seen the Hoppers more than any other artist in Southern Gospel music. As long as they keep recording great music I won't be cutting back any time soon.

I've only seen them once in a full concert and I enjoyed every minute of it! Thanks for the write-up.

Family Fest 2008 Part 3 - Saturday night Buddy Greene and his accordion playing accompanist warmed up the crowd. Buddy had conducted a harmonica seminar in the afternoon. I missed it, but it was apparently well received. The Easters were entertaining, with their daughter, Morgan, singing her first Gaither concert solo. It was very humorous when the camera focused on Jeff and Sheri's son, Madison, and Jeff said: "There I am - 1979". He really did look like you would imagine Jeff looked then, right down to the long hair in his eyes and the "mod" clothes. The son smiled happily. Then Jeff said: "So he knows what he will look like when he's 48". The Madison's changes of expression from happiness to realization to concern to despair as the news sunk in was hilarious. I was glad to see that Greg Ritchie was still serving as the drummer for Family Fest, and Charlotte was there with the new baby. Once again the Collingsworth Family were the musical highlight of the evening. Kim's piano solo of How Great Thou Art got the longest standing ovation that I remember at Family Fest. The ventriloquist, David Pendleton, was unbelieveable. He did a great bit using Bill Gaither, Kevin Williams and Lynda Randle as his "dummies", and did a series of "Sunday School" songs (Deep and Wide, etc. Amazing how he was able to switch voices quickly and accurately while moving from place to place, and without moving his lips. Eva Mae Lefevre was her usual wonderful self. Disappointing that Janet Paschal, due to a scheduling error, was not available tonight, but she did come back for Sunday. I also missed Ivan Parker and Jessy Dixon, who have been Family Fest regulars as long as I can remember. I know that Bill likes to rotate artists to keep things fresh, but I'm still not used to Sue Dodge and the Hoppers not being there. Gene McDonald did a Dottie Rambo song that really highlighted his amazing range (wish I could remember the song). Ben Speer fell onto the stage after tripping on the top step, but very professionally didn't miss a beat. I know it must have hurt. John Sheptock, a singer who was born without arms and with a short right leg, "wowed" the crowd with his amazing voice. He did a more contemporary arrangement of Because He Lives, which was very well received. Mrs. Kerrlaw was brought to tears again. It was the Isaacs song Yours and Mine. I confess that I misted up a little, too. Between the Isaacs singing, and Kim Collingsworth's piano playing, I may have to re-think my attitudes toward bluegrass and piano instrumentals. The Gaither Vocal Band closed the pre-intermission portion and Signature Sound performed the entire after intermission program. I have heard some folks say that they dislike the format of having several artists sing two or three songs, but at a Homecoming concert you get at least three and one-half hours of music and humor, and I like the variety. By the end of the evening I was worn out and ready for some food. Since we had eaten lightly (or at least had eaten all we ordered) from the Cherokee Grill that afternoon, we had an excellent hot dog from one of Gatlinburg's many eateries.

Mike, Hubby and I are thinking about going to the Family Fest next Memorial Day rather than the Legacy Five shindig. When should we make our arrangements? Is it one of those things that we'd better do 6 months in advance????

We enjoyed ourselves immensely at the L5 Celebration (except when we got 'lost' in the hotel...it's huge!), but my husband mentioned attending this next year instead. What I really want to do is Praisefest!

What I really want to do is Praisefest! I'm doing Praisefest and I just cannot wait! The L5 thing is getting more costly than we're willing to pay! And. you're right. The Gaylord Opryland is absolutely huge! We've been 4 times, so we know how to get around. But I remember my first year!!! Yes, and considering the drive from Florida...gas, time, etc... Gatlinburg is a little closer, and for me, there's more to do between concert times.
