Further update...........she is going to find Internet today so she can get on and post.........
Until then........she called the apartment complex and they can not move back for at least two weeks. Her job is also closed for at least two weeks. She is going to try to go home to least get some things our of the apartment that her and the girls need..........but as of last night was unsure when she would be able to do so......
Hey Tica I was at prayer group that is why my phone was turned off.......I tried to call late last night but the phone just rang and rang.........

.... Hey guys!
Thanks for thinking of me and praying for us...
As of this very moment... I'm exhausted!!! :D
Even though where we are staying didn't get hit very hard... we still went FIVE DAYS without power! I'm so thankful for Dave... he had that generator fueled up and goin' the entire time. Dave has been a wonderful provider for us.
It sounds like our apartment complex in Beaumont got hit very hard. They are asking that we come and get what stuff we can and find another place to live for several weeks. 
Dave and I are waiting until Saturday to go down and survey the damage. We are still unsure of how much or if we lost anything.
I have peace in my heart.... the girls and I have been through a house fire... we can do this. God has always... ALWAYS taken care of us... I know He won't stop now.
I've been doing yard work for hire the last two days... My body is too old... and I am tired! It has been a wonderful few days of enjoying the outdoors and admiring others' yards.... as I type, I am sitting on a huge deck which overlooks a beautiful lake (river? lol! where am I???) Apparently, the shore across the way is Louisiana. Sooo very beautiful out here! (I am so very thankful to the owners of this house. They've left their computer on while they are out of town so that I can be somewhat connected with the outside world.)
The girls are doing fine. Home-schooling books are supposed to be delivered to the apartment in Beaumont... mail has been delayed but should be up and running by the time we get there on Saturday. We have been working on random things... yesterday - we studied in Proverbs 31. I asked them to write out what a Proverbs 31 woman would look like today. I was tickled by their writing... 
The girls have totally stepped up to help. They have been doing dishes, cleaning up the apartment where we are staying... helping when asked.... they are so wonderful. I am sooo blessed to have them as my daughters.
Okay... I'd better wrap this up....

My mom is in Indiana doing her best to pack up her trailer and sell it... she will be moving down in a few weeks... If you think of my mom, please pray for her....
She not only lost my dad, but her sister and her favorite cat as well.... it seems that since she's gotten back home... she's been grieving all over again.... (lots of tears)

.... Hey guys.
I don't have much time on the computer today....
I found out yesterday that I am homeless as far as Beaumont is concerned.
I've applied for FEMA assistance... so we will wait to see what happens....
I'm thinking of putting in a two weeks notice at my job and trying to find a job here in Hemphill.... I'll be putting in my resume at Dave's church for a youth pastor position.... we shall see what God says about that! (even if the university starts back up.... I have no where to live in Beaumont... and the deposit money will be hung up for a while... so there is no way I will be able to find another apartment in the time frame provided.)
I wanted to thank all for posting in the last few days... it does my heart good to know people out there care!

Trish, I also found out that we won't be able to go back into Beaumont until they lift the evacuation order.... so I have no idea when we will be able to go on our scavenger hunt....

Rach - I'm SO sorry to hear all this! I was afraid it would happen when I saw the size/direction of the storm. A friend went through Katrina - in your same situation, and she said that it was the best thing that ever happened to them. She got the FEMA assistance - so I'm sure you'll be able to as well.
I'll be praying about the Hemphill and other situations.

Hey all I spoke with Ra ch last night on the phone and spoke to Dave for about an hour the night before............she seems in good spirits...........their are a lot of decisions being made now, during a time of uncertainty, please pray that God's voice is heard through all the confusion and wise decisions are made for Ra ch and the girls...........thanks joy.

.... hi guys.
I don't have ample time to address all your posts.... the family here has been so gracious in letting me wifi from their porch.... One day... I will have to take a picture of the view.
We were able to go to Beaumont yesterday.... the roof over the girls' room and the living room was torn off... there is insulation and water damage...
My room and the kitchen was okay...
We took what stuff we could fit in the truck... we will go back on Friday with a small trailer and get the rest...
It's kinda comforting knowing that not everything was a loss..... like we still have little bits of 'home' with us....
I am job hunting in Hemphill.... this town is soooo small.... the odds of finding a good paying job are minimal....
We will also try to find a house/trailer/anything to rent as soon as I get paid on the first....
For those of you who have my cell phone number: I've canceled my cell phone contract. Hemphill is a verizon deadzone.... and getting out of the contract is actually a blessing..... :D
I will gladly give you our landline number.... just toss me a note....
Dave and I are going into town today to purchase a PO Box.... so I will be glad to share that information as well.
My job today is to track down the shipment of school books.... UPS has not been very helpful. 
I'm also gonna try to download some dial-up software so I don't have to bother people in order to get 'connected'...
