I miss those. Back in Nebraska where I grew up, a gunrack in a pickup was commonplace. Here in Michigan, they're illegal.

.... oh my goodness! DS, Ray, HnS and Ben have me laughing sooo hard!!!

Thanks for the congrats, Trish!

I happen to like country music, btw... I like to get gas at the Shell station.... they sell gas, beer, bait and pump country music to the outside speakers!

I went into the bank today to open an account... and there is an 8pt buck (the head and shoulders) stuffed and mounted right there in the lobby...

Another guys office had a HUGE fish mounted.... lol!

The school books are here! The school books are here!!!

I spent a couple of hours last night figuring up a tentative schedule to help keep us moving forward. The girls are soooo excited! (So am I!)

I also got a library card for our family... the library is very generous in the amount of stuff we can check out....

Oh ... get this... the librarian is from IL (which means she talks normal).... and her sister lives in Bedford, IN (John_O's town!)... how funny is that? lol!

Today I have Christine in the office with me... we stopped at the post office for the mail first.... I saw a lady there from church.... She asked," Do you have a side-kick with you today?" in her southern drawl... I couldn't help it... I responded "I suuurre dooo!" and it came out all southern sounding like!!!

My daughter just about died laughing.... I have noticed that sometimes when I talk.... it's all.... all..... southern drawly like!

Do you guys pick up accents easily?

xxoo

If I spend too much time around my bil (he sounds like Festus from Gunsmoke) I will pick up the drawl.

When I went to East TX for my sisters college graduation, I noticed the accents there are WAY thicker than here in San Antonio. I overheard a girl asking someone "Do these paints look lack high waders to youuu?" Took me several minute to figure out what the heck she was trying to say.

I pick up accents pretty easily. I lost my New Zealand accent pretty quickly.

With all that stuff on the car that everybody's been talking about, you'd keep Gary happy. ROADKILL!

Over half of my bootcamp company was from Brooklyn New York. By the time we graduated, I had developed an accent.

When my aunt calls me from Wichita Kansas, she says that I have a Canadian accent...ay?

I can walk outside and see Canada.

I love Canadian accents! I could listen to them all day! I love the "ay" and "aboat" instead of "about". LOL! I get my Anne Of Green Gables fix when I need to hear the accent.

Beckey.... there ARE a few people I really can't understand here! It's crazzeee!!!!

Gary! Sounds like a fantastic weekend, eh? lol!

Trish... I'm surprised you've lost your NZ accent.... you have lived in OZ for a while, though.... I wonder if I will pick up that southern drawl for good? lol!

Ray.... it would be fun to get you in a room filled with people from all over the world.... I wonder what you would sound like after a few hours? lol!

(((((Sharon!))))) & (((((Joy!)))))

Hey Trish! I just saw your siggy.... I think I'm gonna go sign up this year.... it would do us all good to send and get Christmas cards this year! Thanks for putting that announcement in your siggy! I would have never known!

I'm creating a new one this year. We (myself and the kids) are going to cut out snowflakes and hang them from paper chains in the living room.

Good to see you zippin' around the threads, Rach!

My favorite holiday is St. Patrick's Day.

I'm very susceptible with my southern accent. I grew up with one; and when I moved to Jackson, while it never went away, it did diminish somewhat. However, when I went back to Jackson in June, everyone commented on how pronounced it had become again . . . and kept asking me to say certain words and phrases.

Oh yes, Sharon-Marie.... now that you mention it... I do remember that your favorite holiday is the Green Day! Do you do anything special?

I love your accent, btw....

.... and goodness... I hope you guys don't get me wrong... I'm not complaining about the southern accents.... I'm just funnin'....

Acck! I read the question wrong, initially, Rach.

I thought you had asked what our favorite holiday was; not our favorite holiday tradition. Ooops.

I imagine it will be the closest thing we get to snow this year.

I did it when I worked up at the church in my office and it was beautiful.

My first snail mail penpal was originally from GA and she has such a Southern Drawl! LOL! I still love her though.

Yeah, it will be 20 years next year that I moved to Australia. The people that I came over with, still have a lot of their New Zealand accents. Unless I'm really tired, or occasionally when I'm around other New Zealanders (Kiwis), you'll only hear a couple of words come out of me that make me sound like a New Zealander.

Favourite holiday tradition? Having open house on Christmas Day so that people don't have to be alone at Christmas.

Had those too. When Joan makes them, the place wreaks for ages! She uses rum essence though, not real rum.
